Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, reportedly dead at 70
Fenty, who battled an unnamed brief illness, reportedly passed away in Los Angeles. Ronald Fenty, Rihanna's father, has passed away at age 70. The news was first reported by Starcom Network, a Barbados-based outlet, and later confirmed by People magazine. According to Starcom, Fenty died in Los Angeles following a brief illness. Details surrounding his official cause of death and the exact date have not yet been disclosed. Sources close to the family told Starcom that Fenty's loved ones were by his side around the time of his passing. Photos published by TMZ show Rihanna's younger brother, Rajad Fenty, arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on May 28, with reports that Rihanna was also present in the vehicle. Representatives for the singer have not commented publicly on the matter as of Saturday, May 31. Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in 1988, Rihanna is the daughter of Ronald Fenty and Monica Braithwaite. The Grammy-winning artist and beauty mogul is currently pregnant with her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple is already parents to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 1. Alongside Rihanna and Rajad, Ronald Fenty was also the father to Rorrey Fenty and three children from previous relationships—Samantha, Kandy, and Jamie. While Rihanna's rise to global stardom has often been linked to her Caribbean roots and family legacy, her relationship with her father has been notably complex. In 2009, after the singer was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown, Fenty spoke to the media about the incident without Rihanna's permission—an action she later addressed in an interview with Vogue, calling it 'really strange.' 'You grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes,' she said at the time, per Billboard. 'And then he does something so bizarre that I can't begin to wrap my mind around it.' Despite tensions, Rihanna shared in a 2012 interview with Oprah that she and her father had taken steps to rebuild their relationship. However, strains resurfaced in 2019 when she filed a lawsuit accusing Fenty of using her name and brand without authorization. According to the complaint, he launched a company named Fenty Entertainment and misrepresented himself as her manager to secure business deals. Rihanna later dropped the lawsuit in 2021, just weeks before it was set to go to trial. Ronald Fenty's passing comes during a transformative time for the Fenty mogul as she prepares to welcome her third child into the world. The star has yet to publicly comment on her father's reported passing. Rihanna's Dad Ronald Fenty Dead at 70
Originally appeared on E! Online Rihanna and her family are in mourning. The pregnant "Diamonds" singer's dad Ronald Fenty has died, multiple outlets reported May 31. He was 70. While the cause of his death was not made public, he had recently battled an illness, the reports said. Sources close to the Fentys told Starcom Network News, which is based in their home country of Barbados, that family members gathered in California before Ronald passed away in the early hours of the morning. News of his death comes days after Rihanna's brother Rajad Fenty was photographed arriving at a Los Angeles hospital, reportedly with the Grammy winner in the car, TMZ reported. In addition to the two, Ronald is also survived by the siblings' mom, his ex Monica Braithwaite, and the former couple's other son together, Rorrey Fenty, 35, as well as the patriarch's three kids Samantha Fenty, Kandy Fenty and Jamie Fenty from past relationships. More from E! Online Robin Thicke Marries April Love Geary in Star-Studded Ceremony Machine Gun Kelly's New Photo With His and Megan Fox's Baby Girl Deserves All the Flowers Sydney Sweeney Breaks Silence on Jonathan Davino Breakup Rihanna— who is expecting her third baby with A$AP Rocky—was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty to Ronald and mom Monica Braithwaite in 1988. The 37-year-old's parents had divorced in 2002 when she was 14—two years before she moved from their hometown of Bridgetown, Barbados to the United States. The Fenty Beauty founder said her family "broke up" because of her dad's struggles with addiction, and it took a while for her and her father to move past that. "I repaired my relationship with my dad," Rihanna tearfully told Oprah Winfrey in a 2012 interview, "I was so angry at him. I was just angry about a lot of things from my childhood and I couldn't separate him as a husband from him as a father." Rihanna said she came to realize that he was "probably one of the best fathers in the world." "He taught me everything," she said. "And as awful as he was to my mom at times, it didn't compare to how great he was as a father. And I had to come to terms with that. And I was able to close that gap with him." Years later, the two became involved in a legal dispute. Rihanna sued her father in 2019 for false advertising, false designation of origin and invasion of privacy—false light publicity. In the lawsuit, obtained by E! News, she alleged that Ronald and his business partner "egregiously and fraudulently misrepresented to third parties and the public" that their company, Fenty Entertainment, was affiliated with her and had the authority to act on her behalf. In 2021, Rihanna filed to dismiss the lawsuit, the BBC reported. For the latest breaking news updates, click here to download the E! News App

Rihanna Earns Her First New Hit In Almost A Decade On One Chart
Rihanna's 'A Friend of Mine' debuts at No. 19 on the U.K.'s Official Dance Singles chart, marking ... More her first new dance hit in nearly a decade. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 10: Rihanna arrives at the Rihanna x Fenty Hair Los Angeles Launch Party at Nya Studios on June 10, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Kayla Oaddams/WireImage) Throughout her career, Rihanna has explored multiple genres of music, and she has found incredible commercial success in pretty much every style she's recorded. At this point, she claims enough hits in R&B, pop, and electronic dance fields to outpace some of the biggest stars who have stuck solely to those individual fields. The superstar scores a new dance win in the United Kingdom this week with 'Friend of Mine,' her latest tune, which was written and recorded for the upcoming animated Smurfs movie. While it doesn't break into the top 10, 'Friend of Mine' does manage to launch at No. 19 on the Official Dance Singles chart in the U.K. That's a bit disappointing, as Rihanna remains one of the biggest musical stars in the world, and anticipation for new music from her is always high. The pop icon doesn't even manage the top debut of the frame. 'Friend of Mine' scores the third-highest start of the period, behind 'Baller' by Abor and Tynna at No. 7 and 'The Glen' from Levi Heron, which opens at No. 15. Rihanna is typically a fixture on the Official Dance Singles chart, but it has been many years since she earned a new hit on the genre-specific tally. 'Friend of Mine' marks her first debut on the list in just under a decade. She last arrived with a new track in May 2016 when she joined Calvin Harris on 'This Is What You Came For.' That tune has spent 151 weeks somewhere on the roster — six of which have been at No. 1. As it opens at No. 19, 'Friend of Mine' also becomes Rihanna's second-lowest-charting career placement on the Official Dance Singles roster. She has only sent seven tunes to the list, and just one, 'Jump,' has stalled in a lower position. That track has thus far spent only two frames somewhere on the ranking, and has climbed no higher than No. 25. All of Rihanna's other hits have reached the top 10, and most have spent time at No. 1. Rihanna doubles up on the Official Dance Singles chart this frame as 'Friend of Mine' joins 'We Found Love,' another collaboration with Calvin Harris. That track dips from No. 24 to No. 37 as it reaches 233 frames somewhere on the tally.

Fenty Beauty blurring skin tint 'feels like nothing on the skin' and has 20% off
Summer calls for a lightweight foundation and this Fenty Beauty skin tint gives you the perfect combination of light coverage whilst blurring imperfections – and it now has 20% off During the warmer summer months, we're all inclined to ditch heavier makeup in favour of something more lightweight that lets your skin breathe. Although going completely makeup free is always an option, for those of use who still prefer a little coverage a skin tint is the perfect pick. It helps create a smoother, more even base for the rest of your beauty look, whilst still feeling lightweight and breathable on your skin which is a must when the temperatures rise. One that's been getting rave reviews from shoppers is the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint, and good news for bargain hunters, because Sephora currently has it on sale. Usually priced at £29, it's now been reduced to £23.20, saving you 20%. As is always the case with Fenty's foundations, the Eaze Drop Blurring Skin comes in a huge shade range that covers all skin tones with 25 different colours to choose from. Designed to layer with your skincare and primer for a flawless no-makeup makeup look, the skin tint has a HydraBlend complex which hydrates your skin and diffuses light, creating an instant skin blurring effect. It's fully buildable for a light to medium coverage, and its longwearing formula is sweat-, humidity- and transfer-resistant, making it perfect for holidays. Another celebrity beauty brand that's nailed the lightweight skin tint is Kylie Cosmetics, with the Skin Tint Blurring Elixir Foundation also currently on sale down from £27 to £20.50, saving you 25%. Kylie's skin tint also has a lightweight buildable formula which gives a dewy, natural-looking finish to your complexion. Another pick for dewy, radiant looking skin is the Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer, which combines makeup and skincare for a hydrating boost that also gives lightweight coverage. Currently reduced by 15% from £29 to £24.65, it also contains vitamin C, liquorice and aloe vera to brighten and soothe skin as you wear it. However Sephora shoppers have been loving Rihanna 's Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint, with one saying: 'Really like this for my oily/sensitive skin!! Used it for weeks now and really enjoy it especially when I need something to put on quickly I use this as it blends so easily!!' Another wrote: 'Loveee this. Feels like nothing on the skin. Perfect for people who want to wear some sort of foundation but hate the feeling of it. However, this is a skin tint so keep in mind that it is light coverage (which I personally love).' One did find some issues, saying: 'Need to use again, but it was getting caked on my skin and crumpling off, may change my skincare beforehand and give it another go.' But others couldn't get enough, saying: 'Felt really light and nice on my skin. Noticed a lot of reviews say it oxidises easily so will keep my eye out for that but I really like it atm!'
