Town of Hempstead race features bestiality, porn, ex-NYPD cop
The election race to lead the most populous town in the US has gone down a perverted rabbit hole featuring bestiality, porn and a Marine veteran ex-NYPD cop. The campaign for Long Island's Town of Hempstead supervisor turned sickeningly X-rated when an old social-media post recently surfaced suggesting Democratic candidate Joseph Scianablo once boasted about looking at 'animal porn.' 'i just s—t myself while watchinG animal porn,' reads the Dec. 27, 2008, post on Scianablo's Facebook page. 4 Joseph Scianablo, the Democratic candidate for Town of Hempstead supervisor, came under fire after a bizarre Facebook post of his referencing 'animal porn' resurfaced. 4 A screenshot of Scianablo's post from 2008. While Scianablo is claiming his brother posed as him to post the twisted missive as a joke, the Dem's foe, interim Republican Hempstead Supervisor John Ferretti, said he is still disgusted by the antics involving 'bestiality' and that the whole sordid ordeal makes his opponent unfit for office. 'This is not a joke. This is not a youthful mistake. This is a statement that celebrates the abuse and exploitation of animals—and it is beneath the dignity of any individual seeking public office,' Ferretti told The Post. Ferretti noted that the job of Hempstead Town supervisor involves the direct oversight of the Hempstead Animal Shelter, which is designed to rescue, protect and care for cats and dogs, many of which have already been victims of cruelty and neglect. 'The idea that someone who created a social media post to celebrate bestiality and publicly joked about it could be in charge of protecting animals is both sickening and unacceptable,' Ferretti said. 'We are not talking about politics—we're talking about basic decency, judgment, and humanity.' 4 Republican Hempstead Supervisor John Ferretti said Scianablo's 'disgusting' Facebook post makes him unfit for office. Brigitte Stelzer Scianablo — a Marine combat veteran, retired NYPD officer and former prosecutor in the Queens District Attorney's Office — admitted that the post was written under his name but claimed he was the victim of a prank by his brother, Jason, at the time. 'I have a dopey brother who did this,' Scianablo told The Post on Sunday. 'My brother took my computer and posted it [the animal porn],' added the candidate, who was 31 at the time of the posting. He slammed Ferretti and the GOP for its 'desperate' mud-slinging in its bid for control of the town of nearly 800,000 residents. 'This is nothing but a smear,' Scianablo said. 'My record speaks for itself.' His campaign, in full damage-control mode, then provided a statement it says is from Jason fessing up to the prank. 'In 2008, I made a stupid, juvenile post on my brother's Facebook as a joke,' said the campaign statement attributed to Jason. 'My brother had returned from serving in combat as a US Marine in Iraq. For months, our family lived with the fear that we might lose him. When he came home, the relief was overwhelming, and I slipped back into being the kid brother who teased him instead of the man who should have been thanking him. 'My brother served four years as an NYPD officer, and he would later be seriously injured in the line of duty protecting victims of domestic violence. He has put his life on the line more times than I can count, for his fellow Marines, for the people of New York, and for complete strangers in danger. He has served with honor, courage, and commitment, and earned every role he has ever held through sacrifice and service.' Ferretti has meanwhile promoted his animal-rights record as a Nassau County legislator. He authored legislation that bans convicted animal abusers from owning pets and increased penalties for leaving animals in hot or freezing cars, while also cracking down on animal hoarders. 4 Scianablo blamed the post on his 'dopey' brother logging onto his computer. He sponsored another bill requiring owners of dogs deemed dangerous to notify neighbors within a 1,000-foot radius and to register those animals in a public safety database. 'This election is about who we can trust to do what's right. And clearly, Joe Scianablo is not that person,' Ferretti said. The race was already mired in controversy. Ferretti replaced Don Clavin, the three-term GOP town supervisor who stepped down before his term expired at year's end. Scianablo and other Democrats cried foul, saying it was a GOP power play to give Ferretti a leg up with the power of incumbency in the general election this fall.

Milton of Campsie Fairy Woods transformed into fairy trail
The Milton of Campsie Fairy Woods, located between Alder Road and Hazel Bank, have been described as "a magical world of make-believe" thanks to new wood carvings. Carved fairies, toadstools, fairy houses, and woodland creatures can all be spotted in the woods. The trail was created by Walk, Run, Cycle East Dunbartonshire (WRCED) with help from East Dunbartonshire Council's Streetscene Technical Support Team, with wooden sculptures crafted by Chainsaw Creations. (Image: Supplied) Councillor Paul Ferretti, convener of the council's place, neighbourhood and corporate assets committee, said: "This is a magical project and I'm really pleased the council has helped deliver this in collaboration with Walk, Run, Cycle East Dunbartonshire. "They are already a big hit with children whose imaginations have been fired by seeing these magical creatures come to life. "I am sure the carvings will bring lots of pleasure to local children and their families for many years to come." Cllr Ferretti recently visited the trail with members of the WRCED group, which was formed during the pandemic and now has more than 8700 followers. "We took on this project after a plea for help from local mum Lisa Cochrane, who set up the fairy trail during lockdown of 2020. "The trail was in danger of disappearing, and we thought that would be devastating for the local community after they had enjoyed it so much during and after lockdown. "Anything that encourages children and their families to the outdoors is to be encouraged. "The benefit of a daily walk and time spent outdoors is so vital to physical and mental wellbeing. "We really hope that everyone gets to enjoy them and feels the fairy magic."

Italian Yacht Builder Ferretti Is Involved in an Espionage Case
International intrigue at one of the world's largest yacht builders? The Italian Ferretti Group was the setting for a spy-vs-spy scenario that reportedly included private detectives shadowing an executive of the Italian builder's primary Chinese investor and recording devices hidden in several offices, according to Bloomberg. The discovery of this board-level surveillance has prompted two criminal cases, now in the hands of Italian prosecutors. In April 2024, Xu Xinyu, an executive director at Ferretti SpA, noticed two men in an SUV outside Ferretti's headquarters in Milan. Xu also sits on the board of the Weichai Group, which acquired the Ferretti Group in 2102, when the builder of Riva Yachts, Custom Line, CRN, and other brands was in financial trouble. More from Robb Report Say Hello to Robb Report en Español, the New Benchmark for Global Luxury in Spanish A Luxe Midcentury Duplex in London's Mayfair Just Listed for $25 Million Red Sox Legend David Ortiz's Former Miami Mansion Lists for $11.5 Million Xu also observed the pair following him while visiting hotels in the city, Bloomberg reported. He hired a counter-surveillance company, which reportedly found a listening device and signal amplifier hidden in his office. Other devices were found in the offices of Ferretti's Chinese-Italian translator and board secretary. The story cites unnamed sources who claimed relations between Weichai and some executives at Ferretti had deteriorated because of a proposed stock buyback program that would have allowed the repurchase of 10 percent of the shares. The buyback plan was briefly examined by the Italian government under a special 'golden' provision that allows it to oversee 'strategic' Italian brands with foreign ownership. A very small percentage of Ferretti's boat production is for the defense sector, thereby placing it in the strategic category. The Chinese members of the Ferretti board, comprised of six Chinese and three Italians, were initially against the buyback proposal, according to the sources. That decision, according to Bloomberg, caused dissension between Ferretti CEO Alberto Galassi and some members of the board. In March 2024, Galassi formally notified the Italian oversight committee of the buyback initiative. But that was earlier than the Chinese directors had expected. Bloomberg's sources say they thought the Chinese board members worried that Galassi could be using 'the golden share rule to sideline them by seeking allies in the Italian government.' The stock buyback proposal was withdrawn by the end of the month. Ferretti issued a statement denying that Galassi had gone against the board's wishes, according to Bloomberg. It said the notification 'was carried out with the formal and definitive approval of the Board of Directors.' The statement went on to say that 'the relationship between the shareholders and the company is excellent, marked by ongoing collaboration and mutual respect.' Ferretti did not immediately respond to Robb Report's request for comment. Following the discovery of the surveillance on Xu and others, some of the board members reportedly suspected it might have originated with Ferretti's upper management. Xu initiated a criminal case against 'persons unknown' in May 2024, for unauthorized access to a computer system and unlawful interference in private life. In January 2025, following an internal investigation, the Ferretti Group filed its own complaint with the Milan prosecutor's office. 'Ferretti SpA considers itself an aggrieved party, having been wronged by the unlawful and improper installation of surveillance devices within its offices,' the statement said. Ferretti says there is no tension between it and Weichai. 'The shareholder and the company have enjoyed a relationship of mutual esteem and full, constructive collaboration for over 10 years,' the brand said in a statement to Bloomberg. The cases remain in the initial stages of investigation, with no certainty that any criminal charges will be pursued. Yacht Builder to the World's Super-Rich Caught Up in Spy Claims
In early April 2024, Xu Xinyu, an executive director at Ferretti SpA, noticed an SUV and two strange men lingering outside the elegant 18th century palace that houses the Italian luxury yacht maker's Milan offices. On other days, during visits to the Palazzo Parigi Hotel and the Mandarin Oriental, Xu noticed the same individuals again. Soon, he had become convinced he was being followed, according to people familiar with the situation, who requested anonymity in order to discuss confidential matters. Xu, who also sat on the board of Ferretti's majority owners, the Chinese industrial conglomerate Weichai Group, engaged a counter-surveillance firm. During its first sweep on the night of April 3, the security company found a listening device and signal amplifier hidden on Xu's desk. In the offices of the board secretary and the company's Chinese-Italian translator, they uncovered other devices concealed in power outlets. Ferretti confirmed in a statement in response to Bloomberg News inquiries that surveillance devices had been found on its premises.
