When Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty spoke about Bollywood's class divide

and are one of the most successful actor-director duos in Hindi cinema. Out of Rohit Shetty's 14 films, 12 starred Ajay. These include all four movies from the comedy series 'Golmaal' and the four films in the cop universe, starting with 'Singham' in 2011 and going up to 'Sooryavanshi' in 2021. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In 2014, before the release of Singham Returns, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty spoke about the class divide in the Hindi film industry during a promotional interview with Film Companion. They referred to a message Ajay had sent to Rohit back in 2011 on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan, where he said:"I am so happy that people who abused your kind of movies want to work with you now", the actor and the filmmaker were asked if a class divide exists within Bollywood. The Tanhaji star, Ajay Devgn, said he personally hadn't faced the issue but had heard people call Golmaal 'trash cinema.' He pointed out the irony that those same people later approached Rohit Shetty to direct films for them, realizing that they needed such so-called 'trash cinema' to stay relevant in the industry. Rohit Shetty, who also hosts the popular reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi, said he has no ego or arrogance about his work and believes he's simply making films for his audience. He shared that many people have now come around, saying he's not doing anything wrong or harmful. Referring to the earlier criticism from the elite crowd, Rohit humorously compared himself to Amitabh Bachchan's 'bad guy' character from Deewar (1975), calling the critics Nirupa Roy and the elite Shashi Kapoor. He concluded by saying he's happy being Amitabh—the so-called bad guy—at the end of the day. In November last year, Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi revived the Indian box office, earning nearly ₹200 crores after theatres reopened nationwide following a two-year Covid-19 lockdown. Rohit and Ajay have also hinted at the next film in their cop universe, Singham 3, though an official announcement is still awaited. Rohit Shetty

When Kajol revealed she doesn't seek validation from Ajay Devgn: 'We barely get time to talk!'

Kajol and Ajay Devgn , who married since 1999, are one of Bollywood's most admired couples, but the actress once revealed that she doesn't rely on her husband for validation in her work. In an old interview with Film Companion, Kajol shared that Ajay hasn't even watched many of her films, but that's never been an issue for her. 'I don't seek validation in that respect from him. We're both very secure as people,' she said. She explained that they avoid discussing work at home because their lives are full of other priorities, 'We just never talk about it. We have so much else to talk about — we have two kids, a house, two dogs, four cars. So, so much comes in between that we do not get time to talk about movies or acting.' Despite their busy lives, Kajol and Ajay share lighthearted moments together. On August 10, 2023, Kajol posted a stunning picture on Instagram with Ajay, where she dazzled in a yellow gown with a printed jacket, while Ajay looked sharp in a black suit — but kept a serious expression. Kajol couldn't help but poke fun at him in the caption, writing: 'So many captions and just one post. But this one won the contest - Kadi has bhi liya karo…' On the work front, Ajay Devgn's recent outing was the film 'Raid 2'. Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Return; R. Not Fahadh Faasil, this actor was the first choice to play Bhanwar Singh Shekawat in Allu Arjun's Pushpa

Sukumar took five years to make the Pushpa films—Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2025). The characters played by Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil are so deeply embedded that it's hard to imagine anyone else in their place now. However, in an interview with M9 News, Nara Rohith claimed that he was the first choice for the role of Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. (Also Read: Alia Bhatt would love to work with Fahadh Faasil after Roshan Mathew: 'He was unreal in Aavesham') When asked if it's true that he was approached for Fahadh's role in Pushpa, Rohith confirmed it and said, 'I posted some pictures with a moustache during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ravi (Shankar) garu spoke to me first, as did Sukumar garu. Then the span of the film changed, and they wanted Fahadh. But initially, they did speak to me.' Rohith reveals that while he was interested in the role, he doesn't know if he could've played Bhanwar as well as Fahadh did. He said, 'I don't know if I could've played the character like he did. Maybe, if I were on that set, I could've vibed and done it. But after seeing Fahadh, I was like, okay. That was terrific, actually.' In the Pushpa films, Bhanwar plays Arjun's titular character's arch nemesis, a police officer who is casteist and wants to bring down the red sanders smuggling ring at any cost. Fahadh himself, though, didn't seem that impressed by the role when he told Film Companion in 2024, 'I don't think Pushpa did anything for me. I told Sukumar Sir that. I don't have to hide it. I have to be honest.' Rohith took a break from acting after the 2018 film Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu. The film tanked at the box office and was a massive failure. In 2024, he made a comeback with Prathinidhi 2. The same year, he got engaged to his co-star from the film, Siree Lella. He will soon star in Sundarakanda and Bhairavam.
