The Toyota Supra Won't Stay Dead For Long

The current Toyota Supra is already on the way out with the Final Edition marking the end of the Mk5's six-year production run in the US. It was fun while it lasted. But don't expect the Supra name to be out of the Toyota lineup for long. In a recent interview with MotorTrend , Toyota has suggested that a new Supra will indeed happen. Better yet, this new one shouldn't take as long to hit the market as the Mk5 did. Hopefully . Photo by: Toyota "It would be logical that we would have a next-gen Supra. But when and how is still TBD," said senior vice president of Product Planning and Strategy for Toyota Motor North America, Cooper Ericksen. "Definitely there will be a gap. The question is how big will that gap be… It is our goal to have a gap that is significantly less [than the last one]." Lest you forget, the Mk4 Supra ended production in the US in 1998, which means it took 21 years for Toyota to revive the Supra name in the US. Thankfully, Toyota promises that we won't have to wait another two decades for the next one. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean we'll see a new Supra next year—or even the year after. Ericksen noted that Toyota still has its 'hands full' producing core products like the latest RAV4 and the ever-popular Camry, among others. It's also unclear if the next Supra will be a jointly developed project like the current one, which Toyota produced alongside BMW's Z4. "A product like Supra, it's made it to a point where now we have a Final Edition, and the reason is it's just not cost-effective with all the new regulations and investment we have to make," Erickson noted. "It needs to be a new house. When we can get the new house built is the question." We'll just have to wait and see. Legendary Scottish pit stop marks 60 years with rare whisky sale including £35,000 bottle

The pit-stop is celebrating 60 years by selling over £200,000 worth of rare Scotch from one man's private collection. A legendary Scottish pit-stop is marking its 60th anniversary in style, by offering whisky lovers the chance to snap up more than £200,000 worth of rare Scotch from one man's remarkable private collection. The Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum, Stirlingshire, is a favourite of those travelling up the west coast. It is conveniently placed at the junction of the A82 and A85 for those heading to either Oban or Fort William, or places further afield. ‌ The iconic shop, restaurant, and filling station is selling 60 bottles of whisky from the late Derek Wilkie's personal stash, with some of the most prized bottles now fetching five-figure price tags. ‌ The exclusive sale is a tribute to Wilkie, one of the founding forces behind the much-loved family business, whose passion for single malt helped shape the shop into the destination it is today, Scottish Daily Express reports. Among the most special offerings is a Macallan 1949 50 Year Old Millennium Decanter, priced at an eye-watering £35,000. Close behind is a Black Bowmore 1964 31 Year Old Final Edition, going for £24,995, followed by the Karuizawa 1984 28 Year Old SMWS 132.1, valued at £19,999. Other highlights in the collection include the Karuizawa 1991 22 Year Old SMWS 132.2, the Karuizawa 2000 12 Year Old SMWS 132.6, and the Macallan Raffles Hotel Singapore 75cl, each priced at £9,999. Sharing the story behind the rare sale in a heartfelt social media post, Edward Robertson, shop owner, keeper of the Quaich, and Wilkie's son-in-law, wrote: 'Derek Wilkie – my father-in-law and one of the founding forces behind our family business – had two great passions: building The Green Welly Stop and collecting single malt whisky. ‌ 'In 1974, his love for whisky took him to Elgin, where he sought out one of the most respected names in the industry - 'Mr George' Urquhart, then Managing Director of Gordon & MacPhail. "Renowned for maturing and bottling some of the finest single malts in Scotland, G&M seemed the perfect partner to help Derek launch a whisky department in our shop in Tyndrum.' ‌ Robertson recalled how Wilkie boldly asked Mr George for whisky stock on credit, a request that was initially declined. He said: 'At first, the answer was a firm no. But if you knew Derek, you'd know he had a charm and persistence that was hard to resist. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! We're proud to continue what Derek started, still driven by the same passion and spirit he showed that day in Elgin.' He added: 'I like to think of myself as a curator of rare whisky - preserving exceptional bottles so future generations can experience the spirit of a bygone era.' Still a firm favourite with tourists, The Green Welly Stop is a third-generation, family-run business that prides itself on 'Good Food and Fine Shopping.' As its website states, the site aims to cater to all visitors 'covering all spectrums of age, gender and travelling method,' offering everything from hearty homemade meals to a wide range of gifts, outdoor wear, and, of course, an ever-growing collection of rare whiskies.

Toyota Supra MKV Takes A Final Bow

Read the full story on The Auto Wire Toyota is closing out production of the Supra MKV with a Final Edition version of the sports car for the 2026 model year. While some might feel misty-eyed about this final bow for the model line, others feel a sense of relief. Then there are those who still mock the MKV Supra, calling it 'just a Bimmer.'Before the return of the legendary Supra, there were all kinds of hushed rumors and speculation about whether it would in fact come back and what the Toyota sports car would be like. Few thought it would be co-developed with BMW, something which disappointed a subset of fans. All that aside, the Supra MKV has been a solid performance machine. After all, with the turbo inline-six engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, the sports car can dash from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, which isn't too shabby. What's more, Toyota's Gazoo Racing division has been constantly tweaking the sports car, as it has also done for the 2026 GR Supra MKV Final Edition. According to Toyota, this pinnacle of the MKV comes with improvements to the brakes, suspension, structural rigidity, aerodynamics, etc. In other words, it should handle better than ever, making it perfect for track runs or spirited driving on twisting, winding backroads. To set it apart from the rest of the Supra lineup, the Final Edition comes with distinct exterior styling like new 19-inch matte black wheels, gloss-finish carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler, and gloss carbon-fiber side mirror caps. Buyers can add the GT4 style pack which comes with exterior side graphics, matte-finish carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler, matte-black rear Supra badge, and red mirror caps, really setting it apart from the other 2026 Supras. Two big questions remain now that the Supra MKV is going away. Will it be missed? Will it be replaced? 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Says Goodbye with a Racy Final Edition

The gets a MkV Final Edition with several performance-focused upgrades. The Final Edition features upgraded brakes and a retuned suspension, along with a standard 382-hp turbo six and an available stick shift. The 2026 Supra MkV Final Edition will soon go on sale starting at $69,085, and production of the fifth generation will officially end next spring. The fifth-generation Toyota Supra is set to end production in early 2026, but Toyota is saying goodbye with a MkV Final Edition—and it's more than just unique 19-inch wheels and available decals. While the version that customers in the United States get isn't as hardcore as the limited-production A90 Final Edition that's only sold overseas, the 2026 Toyota Supra MkV Final Edition does have several performance-enhancing upgrades that separate it from its siblings. Whereas the A90 FE has a 429-hp version of the sports car's BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six, the U.S.-spec model sticks with the standard output (382 horsepower, 368 pound-feet of torque). That power is sent to the rear wheels through either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. And whether or not you choose the three-pedal option, every MkV Final Edition has a carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler, elevated front tire spats, and flaps on the front wheel arches. For those who want to make their MkV Final Edition stand out a little more, Toyota will offer a GT4 appearance pack (seen in these photos). It's inspired by the brand's GR Supra GT4 EVO2 race car, and the kit includes distinctive side graphics, red mirror caps, a matte-painted rear spoiler, and the Supra emblem out back is also matte black. Going the GT4 route also unlocks two exclusive extra-cost matte paint options: Burnout and Undercover. To help make the Supra more precise at the racetrack or the squiggly roads near where you live, it tweaked the software that controls the rear diff to help improve traction and reduce understeer. The actual steering is said to feel more direct, and all four tires have a revised camber angle to aid cornering grip. Other suspension changes include stronger rubber bushings, an upgraded front anti-roll bar, and retuned adaptive dampers. Toyota also added a new underbody brace to help improve rigidity. And if you overcook a corner—or you're stupidly looking at your phone while quickly approaching stopped traffic—better Brembo brakes are there to help save your ass. Inside, the Supra's Final Edition has leather-trimmed, Alcantara seats, which are spruced up with red contrast stitching and a GR logo in the headrests. The shift knob also has red accents, and, not to be outdone, the seatbelts are red too. The regular 2026 GR Surpa 3.0 starts at $58,035, and the better-equipped Premium trim rises to $61,185. Meanwhile, the MkV Final Edition comes in at just under $70K—$69,085, to be exact. It's unclear if Toyota has plans for a sixth-generation Supra, so we'll just have to enjoy what we have while we have it. Goodbye to a Legend: 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition

Toyota is getting ready to say goodbye to the fifth generation of its beloved Supra. But the Toyota GR Supra MkV isn't just going to go away. Toyota is sending it off strongly with a quicker and more aggressive farewell package, the Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition. It's been just 6 years since Akio Toyoda brought the Supra back to the streets. It took a still-controversial collaboration with BMW, but the result was a serious sports car — one that lived up to the iconic badge it wore. Toyota has made small changes to improve the car every year since it was launched. The changes are part of what is called 'kaizen' in Japan — continuous improvement, making things a little bit better every time. The 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition gets the newest of those changes, helping to make it even better. We'll start listing the changes at the pavement and work up. The Final Edition will get Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires to maximize traction. New suspension settings change the camber setting at all four wheels, which Toyota says adds cornering stability. The electronic dampers are also new, or at least the calibration has been changed. They work with a new front sway bar to help heighten the car's cornering abilities. New rubber mounts for the rear subframe and bushings in the front control arms also tighten up the car's responses. Toyota GR has tweaked the rear differential for the Final Edition. Toyota's racing team has also altered the engine and automatic transmission control maps to reduce understeer. Larger Brembo brakes should deliver more predictable stopping even through extended sessions of fast driving. The 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition also has cosmetic and aero enhancements. The ducktail rear spoiler and front wheel arch flaps, for example, help reduce lift. The spoiler, along with the mirror caps, are made from carbon fiber simply to make the car look better. It won't arrive until the fall, but Toyota will also offer an even more aggressive look for the Final Edition cars. The GT4 style pack is inspired by Toyota's GT4-series racing Supras and adds new side graphics, a matte-finished spoiler, and red mirror caps. It will come in two colors, Burnout and Undercover, which aren't available without the package. Only the 3.0L twin-turbo I6 will be available for the 2026 Supra. It makes 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, and Toyota offers an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed stick. 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition cars start from $67,950 for either the stick or the slushbox. That's a big increase over lesser-grade cars, but Toyota will still offer base and Premium-spec Supras for 2026. The base model costs $56,900 plus destination, Premium $60,050. Sales start in the spring, and production of the Supra will end in spring 2026. Are we expecting a gen VI GR Supra? Yes. But Toyota hasn't confirmed anything yet, so as of now, this could be your last chance to get behind the wheel of a new Supra. Even if it isn't a 10-second car. Most Fun Car?
