Costco, Amazon and More Recalled Nearly 1.2 Million Coolers Nationwide
Over 150,000 Igloo coolers were just added to the brand's one million-plus North American recall. The cooler being recalled is the Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers sold at Costco, Target and more. Igloo has received 78 reports of fingertip injuries due to these faulty coolers.A February recall on more than one million Igloo coolers just expanded to include 155,900 additional coolers, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is due to laceration and injury risk following multiple customer complaints. The products affected are the Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick's Sporting Goods and on Amazon, as well as through other retail stores and online retailers across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The affected coolers were sold from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140. Since the initial recall was announced, Igloo has received 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 resulting in fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations. Igloo recalls more than 1 million coolers due to threat of finger amputation, crushing
Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Igloo recalled 1 million coolers made in the United States due to the potential of fingertip amputation or crushing. The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall notice on Thursday for more than 1 million Igloo coolers made in for the 90-quart Flip & Tow rolling coolers, warning that the tow handles have the possibility to cause injury by pinching a user's fingertips against the cooler. Igloo said it is offering free replacement handles for the recalled coolers. "With consumer safety as our top priority, we have voluntarily issued a recall on the [90-quart] Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler and have provided consumers with a proper course of action that includes free replacement handles," Igloo said, according to ABC News. The commission said the coolers were sold in multiple body and lid combinations. The cooler tied to the recall was made before January 2024. Some of the body colors include tactical gray with a slate stonelid; and a white body with a white lid. According to the commission, the company received 12 reports of injuries with the cooler, some included bone fractures, fingertip amputations, and lacerations. The commission said that users should contact Igloo immediately if they have the recalled item.

Igloo is recalling more than 1 million coolers amid numerous reports of injuries, including fingertip amputations. The voluntary recall applies to the company's 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a press release Thursday. The affected coolers have a tow handle with 'IGLOO' printed on the side. At least a dozen injuries have been reported, including amputated fingertips, bone fractures and lacerations. 'The tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards,' the commission said. The affected coolers, which cost between $80 and $140, were sold in a variety of colors between January 2019 and January 2025 at retailers like Target, Costco, and Dick's Sporting Goods. They were sold online by Amazon and on the Igloo Coolers website. The company is offering free replacement handles to anyone with a recalled cooler. 'With consumer safety as our top priority, we have voluntarily issued a recall on the 90QT Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler and have provided consumers with a proper course of action that includes a free replacement handle,' Igloo said in a statement obtained by 'Good Morning America.' Around 47,000 coolers are also being recalled in Canada, along with 23,000 in Mexico. In March 2023, YETI — an Igloo competitor — recalled nearly twice as many products over concerns about accidental magnet ingestion.

Over 1 million Igloo coolers made in the U.S. are being recalled due to potential hazards of fingertip amputation or crushing. Over 31,000 Igloo youth bottles recalled due to possible choking hazard According to the CPSC, Igloo said the company has received 12 reports of injuries involving the recalled coolers, including bone fractures, fingertip amputations, and lacerations. The CPSC is advising anyone with the recalled cooler to stop using the product immediately and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle for their cooler.
