Chile & France Stars Out For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Serie A Clash – Ex Ajax Midfielder Could Start In Attack Chile & France Stars Out For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Serie A Clash – Ex Ajax Midfielder Could Start In Attack Jurgen Ekkelenkamp could start in attack for Udinese in this evening's Serie A return to action against Inter Milan. Today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that Friulani coach Kosta Runjaic could use the 25-year-old as an attacking solution with Alexis Sanchez and Florian Thauvin out. Advertisement Udinese will be missing a couple attacking player this evening against Inter Milan. Former Nerazzurri and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will be out. The 36-year-old has a calf problem. Moreover, Florian Thauvin has not been able to recover from plantar fasciitis in time during the international break. He'll miss his team's first match back. Ekkelenkamp Could Start In Attack In Inter Milan Vs Udinese Clash Thauvin's absence in particular deprives Udinese coach Runjaic of a player who has been a pillar of his starting eleven all season. Therefore, the coach will have to find a workaround as far as who starts alongside Lorenzo Lucca. Advertisement Former Ajax, Ajax, and Hertha Berlin midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenkamp has played in a central role in Udinese' 3-5-2 system throughout this season. However, the Dutchman is also capable of playing in a more attacking position. Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Runjaic may opt to deploy Ekkelenkamp as a second striker. Rather than as part of the midfield trio against Inter this evening.

France FIFA World Cup Champion A Major Injury Doubt For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Serie A Clash
France FIFA World Cup Champion A Major Injury Doubt For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Serie A Clash Florian Thauvin is a major doubt to be available for Sunday's Serie A match between Inter Milan and Udinese. This according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that former Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will be out. Udinese are preparing to take on Inter Milan in Serie A this weekend. And beyond the formidable challenge of a visit to the reigning Italian champions, Friulani coach Kosta Runjaic has something of a selection headache in attack. Advertisement Former Inter, Arsenal, and Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez is unavailable. But it is not just the Chilean who will necessarily miss out on Udinese's first match back from the international break. Florian Thauvin A Major Doubt For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Clash Former Marseille and Newcastle United forward Florian Thauvin was on the sidelines before the start of the international break. The issue for Thauvin has been persistent plantar fasciitis. UDINE, ITALY – FEBRUARY 16: Florian Thauvin of Udinese in action during the Serie A match between Udinese and Empoli at Stadio Friuli on February 16, 2025 in Udine, Italy. (Photo by) The 32-year-old has aimed to spend the international break recovering. However, as of yet, Thauvin has not yet quite recovered. He has not returned to training as of yet. Advertisement Therefore, this would put the Frenchman's availability in big doubt for Sunday's clash with Inter. That would leave Udinese coach Runjaic very much bereft of key attacking options. Thuavin is a vital player in attack for the Friulani.

Lazio misses chance to go fourth in Serie A after drawing with Udinese
Associated Press ROME (AP) — Lazio missed a chance to go fourth in Serie A when it struggled at home against Udinese to 1-1 on Monday. The Rome club began the night two points behind Juventus in fifth and went a goal down midway through the first half, Florian Thauvin rampaging through the Lazio defense before volleying in from close range after a penalty box scramble. Alessio Romagnoli levelled 10 minutes later. Matias Vecino nodded on a corner kick from the right and the veteran defender appeared at the back post to poke home his first goal of the season. The result means both sides extended their unbeaten league runs to six games but Lazio was left in fifth, a point behind Juventus, which lost at home to Atalanta 4-0 at the weekend. Udinese remained 10th. ___ AP soccer:

Udinese 1-0 Parma: Thauvin keeps Friulani flag flying
Udinese continue to climb the Serie A table with penalties, this time converted without drama by Florian Thauvin, for the first defeat of Cristian Chivu's Parma tenure. The Ducali had the ideal debut for new coach Chivu with a 2-0 victory over Bologna, but were still missing Milan Djuric, Adrian Bernabé, Valentin Mihaila, Hernani, Gabriel Charpentier, Yordan Osorio, Mateusz Kowalski, Alessandro Circati and Adrian Benedyczak. The Friulani were on a great run of 10 points from four games, but after Isaak Touré and Maduka Okoye, they also lost second-choice goalkeeper Razvan Sava to injury. See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog. Arthur Atta saw two early attempts parried by Zion Suzuki, and the goalkeeper also punched a Florian Thauvin free kick away. Thauvin saw his curler deflected off Botond Balogh's elbow during a clumsy fall and a penalty was awarded following the VAR On-Field Review. Unlike the drama of their 1-0 win over Lecce when Lorenzo Lucca infuriated his teammates and coach by insisting on stepping up, there was no debate with Thauvin converting off the inside of the left boot. Parma came out fighting for the restart, within 60 seconds Dennis Man sprung the offside trap and forced a difficult Daniele Padelli save at the near post. Balogh made an important block on Thauvin and from the resulting corner Kingsley Ehizibue volleyed wide from the edge of the area. Atta was forced off after suffering a sprain just as he was about to pull the trigger on a Thauvin assist, while Thauvin tested Suzuki again from distance. It really should've been 2-0 on 70 minutes when Oier Zarraga's cross was deflected into the path of Thauvin, but despite having time to control and line up the shoot, he somehow fired wide from nine yards. When Thauvin did curl a wonderful left-foot finish into the far top corner from the edge of the area on 78 minutes, it didn't count because Lucca was offside on the assist. Parma also threatened with Pontus Almqvist springing the offside trap and going around Padelli to deposit into an empty net, until Oumar Solet got back for the decisive goal-line clearance. Udinese's third-choice goalkeeper Padelli made two saves in 30 seconds on the Mateo Pellegrino strike from the edge of the box and then his header on the resulting corner.
