Fortnite update delay pushes back Star Wars content
The fight to get Fortnite back on the Apple App Store may have just doomed players to another day without new content, as a new Fortnite update delay is revealed. A new Fortnite update delay has struck, and the game is still struggling to return to Apple's App Store. It seemed as though Fortnite 's Galactic Battle season had been putting all of its cards on the table. After all, the skins in the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass were all incredibly well signposted, and Fortnite 35.10's early patch notes have all been revealed on the game's blog, announcing the weekly content rollouts that players have been expecting for the entirety of the mini-season. It's exactly this that makes a new Fortnite update delay all the more fascinating. Players were ready for a new update to hit the game this morning, delivering all of the backstage content that the game needed to roll out the next two weekly waves of content. But, even as Chewbacca arrives in the Item Shop, it seems that it simply isn't here, with the Epic Games team revealing that the update simply isn't here yet. And it might have something to do with its ongoing headbutting with Apple. Fortnite update delay Epic Games and the @FortniteStatus Twitter account have revealed that the incoming Fortnite update 35.10 has been delayed by a day, in the short run-up to its start. Revealed yesterday, the Fortnite update delay has squeezed the new patch to Friday, May 16, with very little forewarning from the company. The news of the Fortnite update delay came as a shock to many, but it seems that there could be a reason for this after a tweet from Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney, who responded to a claim from leaker @ShiinaBR that there was no movement on Fortnite's Apple review progress. 'We need to release a weekly Fortnite update with new content this Friday, and all platforms must update simultaneously,' Sweeney says. 'So we have pulled the previous Fortnite version submitted to Apple App Review last Friday, and we have submitted a new version for review.' It seems as though this could be a reason for the update facing a delay, as games are expected to pass review on the App Store in between 24 and 48 hours, while Fortnite's first-submitted build was waiting for over 100 hours. There is no publicised reason for this, but after the long, brutal legal battle that Epic Games and Apple have been locked in for many years, it doesn't come as much of a surprise. If the game needs to be in the same state across the board, it makes sense to give all versions of the game a little more time to breathe. It's just another day to wait for new Fortnite content, and if it means that more players will have easy access to the title as a result, then it's probably a net good for the game. Here's hoping there's no more funny business from the App Store; otherwise, we could be in for another Fortnite update delay, and nobody wants that.

Is Fortnite down as Matchmaking server issues hit Epic Games battle royale
Fortnite players have been hit with a mysterious glitch this morning, leading to widespread vexation as they found themselves unable to join games from the launcher. Epic Games acknowledged today (April 29) that Fortnite is grappling with an extensive outage, rendering players on all platforms incapable of connecting with the game's matchmaking servers to enter a session, reports the Mirror . The wildly popular battle royale game is anticipated to experience substantial downtime soon due to the end time for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, but as enthusiasts scramble to play their final matches before the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, their current attempts are being thwarted. Here's the latest on the Fortnite matchmaking woes. The service disruption was first reported by the official @FortniteStatus Twitter account with a message stating: "We are investigating an issue where players may not be able to matchmake into a session. We'll provide an update once we have more information." As a result of the bug, players appear to be stuck on the "waiting for matchmaking to commence" screen, and one frustrated gamer, Twitter user @BrookksyFN, has expressed annoyance over the game disrupting their streaming activities. At the time of writing, the Fortnite Status website has announced that it is looking into the issue and will provide updates to players when more information is available. However, it's likely that an update will only be provided once a solution has been found. This comes at a particularly inconvenient time, as many players are gearing up for the upcoming PS Cup, which was announced in March by @FNCompetitve. Epic Games needs to find a solution quickly, or they'll have to deal with a multitude of disgruntled players. We will update this article as soon as there is any news on when matchmaking will resume.
