Best burger on the Seacoast? Here are 7 eateries our readers recommend

Life is full of tough decisions, like extra cheese or no cheese on a hamburger. The question is: where is the best place to get a burger in the Seacoast? Seacoastonline and recently put it to readers in an unscientific poll. First, we asked readers to nominate places to include in the poll on our Facebook and Instagram pages, which we then compiled into a poll asking people to vote for their favorite. Hundreds of votes later, here are the top seven reader picks. Coming in as the crowd favorite we have Lexie's. With locations in Dover, Exeter, Epping, Newington, and Portsmouth, you have multi opportunities to try out their burgers. Lexie's menu features 100% USDA prime chuck burgers like the Green Muenster featuring muenster cheese, bacon, avocado and chipotle aioli, the Put a Ring on It with American cheese, bacon, egg, crispy onions and chipotle aioli, the Fun Guy with blue cheese, crispy onions, mushrooms and horseradish sauce, or you can choose to create your own. UNTRUCK'd located on the 2nd floor at 6 Sullivan St., Berwick, Maine, takes the number two spot in best places to get a burger. UNTRUCK'd offers an American Classic burger with dill pickles, shredded lettuce, top-secret sauce and American cheese, a French Dip burger with baby bella mushrooms, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, truffle mayo and an Au Jus dipping sauce, or try their Italian Bruschetta with basil pesto aioli, balsamic tomato jam, arugula and mozzarella cheese. In third place we have Wild Willy's Burgers with locations in York, Maine and Rochester. Wild Willy's offers your choice of beef and classic or deluxe burgers with options like the Rio Deluxe with hatch green chilies, cheddar cheese, bacon, white onion, pickle, lettuce and tomato, the Wicked Good with sauteed onions and mushrooms, Swiss and cheddar cheese, or the Stampede with their house made steak chili and cheddar cheese. BRGR Bar, located at 34 Portwalk Place, Portsmouth offers burgers like the Daily Grind with a 6-ounce crispy wagyu burger with white truffle aioli, crispy onion strings on a brioche bun, The BRGR is double smashed patties, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and secret sauce on a brioche bun, and for those adventurous types they offer the Figgetta About It, a beef patty, goat cheese, pickled red onions, mixed greens, balsamic fig jam and crispy prosciutto on a ciabatta bun. Try one of their boozy milkshakes while you are there! Tuckaway Tavern, located at 58 Route 27, Raymond, offers award winning burgers that have been featured in Phantom Gourmet's Dish Worth Driving For. Try The Fatty Patty, a bone buttered grilled cheese, tavern burger, caramelized onion, sweet pickles, bacon and smokehouse aioli, The Whole Tuckin Farm features a tavern burger, crispy fried chicken, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and Tuck sauce, or their Beerhaus, a tavern burger with creamy beer cheese, tuckin good lager rings and chives. Make sure to pair your burger with one of their 20 draft beers or seltzers. Lee Frank's, located in South Berwick and Wells, Maine (with another location coming soon to Exeter) is owned by Lee Frank, whom you may know as owner/chef of Otis Restaurant in Exeter. Frank's all-time favorite meal is a cheeseburger with a side of chili fries and a strawberry shake, and this drove a desire to open a burger and hot dog joint where everyone can enjoy it! Lee Frank's offers classic burgers and cheeseburgers served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mustard and ketchup, that you can make a double, or top yours with chili, mustard, tomato, onion and pickle.
