Role of Crown Prince Foundation in promoting collective work — Tawasol Forum
The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) stands as a beacon of hope for millions of Jordanians, particularly the youth. Through its initiatives, the CPF extends its reach across the nation, fostering awareness, dialogue, and action on critical national issues. The Foundation champions the active engagement of youth in leadership, entrepreneurship, education and sustainable development while addressing the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly digital world. This strategic focus aims to harness the capabilities of Jordan's young population, creating pathways for enhanced job opportunities and ensuring their active participation in shaping the nation's future. Among the many initiatives spearheaded by the CPF, the Tawasol Forum has emerged as a pivotal platform for national dialogue. Now in its third edition, the Forum has become a cornerstone for institutionalizing conversations on pressing issues concerning the future of Jordan and its people. The third edition of the Tawasol Forum, held recently, emphasised the critical role of youth and their empowerment as central themes. This year, the Forum centered its discussions on emerging and transformative themes such as Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Technical and Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship. The Forum also embraced a comprehensive and inclusive approach in discussing national issues that resonate with future generations. Topics such as tourism, culture, art, administrative and economic reform, and other societal matters were deliberated with a focus on their long-term implications. This diversity of topics reflects the CPF's commitment to ensuring that all facets of national development are considered in shaping Jordan's trajectory. To further amplify the impact and out reach of the Tawasol Forum, its dialogue sessions are broadcast live through various media and social media channels. This approach ensures widespread community engagement and raises awareness among young people about pressing national issues and their implications for professional, social and economic futures. By incorporating innovation and fostering direct communication with stakeholders, the Forum is building vital bridges that connect diverse sectors of society. Moreover, by making the data and outcomes of the Forum accessible, national and educational institutions can rely on these insights as a valuable reference for strategic planning and policymaking. The discussions, findings and recommendations emerging from the Tawasol Forum are being meticulously drafted to create a clear and comprehensive vision. This vision aims to guide decision-makers and executive authorities in formulating policies and strategies aligned with the aspirations and needs of the Jordanian people. By channeling the insights gained through dialogue into actionable outcomes, the CPF seeks to make a tangible impact on the nation's future. Looking ahead, there is a shared vision for the Tawasol Forum to evolve into one of Jordan's most important national think-tank centers. By adopting an interactive, innovative and inclusive mode of operation, the Forum aspires to mirror successful models from developed countries that prioritise scientific and participatory research. For a country like Jordan, which has long lacked such forward-thinking platforms, this represents a transformative opportunity. By organising future editions of the Tawasol Forum, it becomes possible to explore and simulate the intricate relationship between local and global challenges in an ever-accelerating digital world. The Forum's ability to propose innovative solutions will be key in addressing these challenges, ultimately contributing to enhancing the quality of life for all Jordanians. These efforts, showcasing the Crown Prince Foundation's unwavering commitment to progress, embody the aspirations of Jordanian leadership to foster a culture of collective action. Under the visionary guidance of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein and the support of His Majesty King Abdullah, the CPF strives to establish a sustainable environment that nurtures creativity and innovation.

Tensions rise in Gaza amid confusion at aid site
After the US Middle East Envoy rejected Hamas's response to his ceasefire proposal, there has been more bloodshed in Gaza, with airstrikes on Gaza City. But accounts of what happened near an aid distribution point in the south of the strip are mired in dispute. There are four distribution centres run by the controversial US-Israeli backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, with only a couple of them operational as yet. Witnesses on the ground reported shooting around half a mile from the western-most site, near to the coast. But the Foundation says nothing happened and Israel denies firing on civilians. Israel has now released drone footage it claims shows masked gunman opening fire near the site.

Reliance Foundation athletes shine in Asian Athletics Championships 2025
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) In a historic run by Indian athletes at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 held in Gumi, Republic of Korea, athletes supported by Reliance Foundation delivered their best-ever performance, claiming a total of five medals — three golds, one silver, and one bronze — contributing significantly to India's second-place finish overall with 24 medals – the country's best-ever showing at the Championships. Hailing the performance of all the participating athletes, James Hillier, Athletics Director, Reliance Foundation said, "We had 10 of our athletes participating in the competition and Gulveer really stole the show with his double gold (5000m & 10000m). Jyothi also did amazingly well in the hurdles in extremely difficult conditions, kept her composure and defended her title." "In the women's long jump, Ancy Sojan kept her cool by being a brilliant competitor and winning the silver medal with a mature performance. Animesh's bronze medal reflects the investment we have made in sprints and this is the third time this year that he broke the national record, so it was a great performance from him,' Hillier said. 'Overall, it was a massive effort from all our athletes out there and it's heartening to see us win medals across all centres in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Odisha in sprint, hurdles, jumps and long distance,' he added. Leading the charge was long-distance runner Gulveer Singh, who scripted history by clinching double gold in the 5000m and 10000m, including a new championship record of 13:24.77s in the 5000m. Gulveer became the first Indian athlete since 2017 to win both events in the same edition of the Championships. Meanwhile, Jyothi Yarraji, India's ace hurdler and reigning Asian champion, defended her title in the 100m hurdles with a season-best time of 12.96s, breaking the championship record under challenging weather conditions. Ecstatic after his achievement in the Championships, Odisha Reliance Foundation High Performance Centre athlete Animesh Kujur quoted, 'I'm really proud of winning the bronze medal in my first ever major international championship. At the start line, I was in a good mental space and felt confident in my abilities. I kept composure throughout the final race and was pleased to see myself break the national record once again. I think this is just a start and I want to reach greater heights in the near future.' With this five-medal haul, Reliance Foundation athletes not only broke records (two championship records and one national record) but also underlined the Foundation's commitment to nurturing Olympic-level talent through access to world-class facilities across India. The performance in Gumi stands as a proud milestone in the Foundation's journey of empowering young Indian athletes to excel on the global stage. UNI BM
