THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Introduces One of Marvel's Most Powerful Characters and Kevin Feige Teases His MCU Future — GeekTyrant
Marvel Studios is taking taking the MCU in a wild direction with The Fantastic Four: First Steps , and the biggest reveal yet is the introduction of Franklin Richards, one of the most powerful characters in Marvel Comics history. Fans have been talking about Franklin's role for months, and now Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is teasing just how important he will be to the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. For those unfamiliar, Franklin Richards is the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, and in the comics, he's an Omega-level mutant with reality-warping abilities that rival cosmic gods. His presence alone signals that Marvel isn't playing it safe with the First Family's MCU debut. Feige explained the decision to include Franklin during a recent press roundtable: 'Well, I think, as always, look at the comics. Look at the comics. There is great potential with Franklin. There's great potential in the other child. And, I mean, really, the reason to do it first is that it had never been done before. 'There have been four movies, as you're well aware. And Franklin had never been a part of that. So, as we were looking for ways to set it apart, to do a definitive version of Fantastic Four, we thought the notion of that child and his importance to come would be a good place to start and embrace. And that's certainly what Matt embraced.' This is huge because Franklin's comic history is tied to some of Marvel's most iconic storylines, including his encounters with Galactus. He's so powerful that he's resurrected the world-devourer and even served as his herald. Feige's mention of 'the other child' also points to Valeria Richards, Reed and Sue's second child, whose genius-level intellect has deep ties to none other than Doctor Doom. With Doom confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday , Marvel is clearly laying the groundwork for a storyline that will be heavily inspired by the comics. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a foundational piece of the Multiverse Saga. Set entirely on Earth-828 in a retro-futuristic 1960s, the movie takes some really cool creative swings by leaning into Jack Kirby-inspired aesthetics. This fresh timeline also allows Marvel to introduce the badass villain Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and a Shalla-Bal version of the Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner. With his Franklin Richards' universe-shaping powers, he could be the MCU's ultimate trump card in the looming multiversal war against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25, and it's clear this movie is shaping the future of the MCU in a massive way.

Fantastic Four: First Steps credits introduce future MCU villains and cosmic stakes
Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four: First Steps ends with two post-credit scenes that expand the film's scope and hint at major players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's future. Both scenes center around Franklin Richards, the young son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, who is portrayed as more than just a background character. In the mid-credit scene, Franklin is shown in a dimly lit chamber, channeling radiant energy as he interacts with cryptic symbols. A deep voice interrupts him, and from the shadows, a hooded figure emerges, Doctor Doom, partially unmasked. He warns Franklin, 'Your power is not a gift… it's a claim.' The exchange establishes Doom's interest in the child and hints at a larger ideological conflict ahead. The end-credit scene shifts to outer space, where a massive celestial body looms. A colossal figure, Galactus, appears in silhouette, speaking just one line: 'The child has awakened.' This moment confirms the cosmic magnitude of Franklin's presence, connecting him to broader multiversal consequences within the MCU. Together, the two scenes position Franklin Richards not merely as an offspring of heroes, but as a central figure whose power may alter the direction of Marvel's next saga. With Galactus and Doctor Doom now introduced, Fantastic Four: First Steps sets the stage for a far-reaching storyline in Marvel's evolving universe.

New Promo Spot for THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Teases More Galactus — GeekTyrant
Marvel Studios just dropped a new promo for The Fantastic Four: First Steps , and it puts the spotlight on none other than Galactus. This latest TV spot offers our best look yet at Ralph Ineson as the Devourer of Worlds in action, and the imposing villain looks every bit as terrifying as fans have hoped. The footage features the Human Torch going full 'Flame On' and launching an attack straight at Galactus. It's here we get a clear shot of his face. Between his towering presence and that deep, commanding voice, this version of Galactus is shaping up to be a cinematic force of nature. We also catch Mister Fantastic stretching into battle, ready to throw everything he's got at the cosmic giant. The size difference is laughably huge, but that's what makes it exciting, Marvel's First Family is clearly willing to go down swinging to protect their world. The promo doubles down on the film's central conflict as Galactus has come to Earth for one reason, baby Franklin, the son of Reed and Sue Storm. His ultimatum is… hand over the child, and he'll spare the planet. Needless to say, Reed and Sue aren't about to make that deal. This latest spot cranks up the stakes and teases an epic showdown with Marvel's most iconic cosmic villain. If you're unfamiliar with Franklin Richards, he's absurdly powerful. He was Introduced in Fantastic Four Annual #6 in 1968, and is a reality-warping, universe-spawning, omega-level mutant who, at full potential, could rival cosmic beings like Eternity. Galactus obviously sees Franklin as a potential never-ending food source. Franklin's ability to create pocket universes and new worlds essentially makes him Galactus' version of a personal chef. And Galactus is hungry. Before Galactus was Galactus, he was Galan, a survivor of the universe that existed before the current one. After merging with the Sentience of the Universe, he reemerged post-Big Bang as a being of insatiable hunger, one who requires the energy of entire planets to survive. In the comics, he's not evil, he's elemental and necessary, and when he sends his heralds like Silver Surfer or Shalla-Bal to scout planets, it's not personal. It's survival. What do you think of Galactus' look? Does Ineson nail the vibe?

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Clip: Someone Wants Pedro Pascal's Child (Again)
Cersei wanted the Sand Snakes dead. Moff Gideon wanted Grogu's DNA. The Fireflies wanted Ellie's immunity. Now, yet again, someone is coming for Pedro Pascal's (fictional) child. A new clip from The Fantastic Four: First Steps shows Marvel's first family telling their world why they could not reach a deal with Galactus. The giant cosmic entity wants Reed and Sue's son, Franklin Richards. The Fantastic Four's world is not safe in this new clip from Marvel Studios. In it, the group holds a press conference to announce it has not defeated Galactus. They went to space to negotiate with the enormous enemy, but 'he asked too high a price.' That price was Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman's newborn son. It was a price they were unwilling to pay. It's not known if they understand why he made that request, but we have an idea why Galactus wants their powerful kid. He is potentially going to be very important to the future of the MCU. But people of the world the Fantastic Four protects have a different question they want answered in this scene. They want to know, 'Are we safe?' Not even pop culture's famous dad is sure about that. This clip clarifies why Franklin Richards has been such an important presence in the promotional material for the movie. Multiple trailers have made clear that, despite being a baby, he's going to play a significant role in the film. A previously released clip also showed Johnny and Ben learning Sue was pregnant, which now feels even more important than it seemed. People are always coming after Pedro Pascal's kids in film and television. Again and again! But the good news for Franklin Richards is that his onscreen dad has plenty of experience keeping his fictional kids safe. Just….just don't ask about what happened to the Sand Snakes. No child should have to learn about how Game of Thrones ended.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Teaser Trailer Confirms Galactus' Evil Plan — GeekTyrant
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will introduce Marvel's First Family into the MCU's main timeline. It also brings in the cosmic heavyweight Galactus to the party! But the big question on everyone's mind is, why this version of Earth? Why now? Well, a new teaser just revealed the reason, and it confirms a rumor that has been making the round. it turns out Galactus set his sights on Earth not because it's ripe for destruction, but because of Reed Richards and Sue Storm's child, Franklin Richards. In the teaser, the team brought before Galactus by the Silver Surfer. It goes on to reveal the villain's massive frame, but he's hidden in shadow for most of this scene before he arrives on Earth and fully steps out of the shadows. The footage also shows Reed Richards telling the press that in exchange for the Earth, Galactus asked for their son Franklin. Mr. Fantastic told them that is too high a price, something the planet's citizens understandably feel differently about. If you're unfamiliar with Franklin Richards, he's absurdly powerful. He was Introduced in Fantastic Four Annual #6 in 1968, and is a reality-warping, universe-spawning, omega-level mutant who, at full potential, could rival cosmic beings like Eternity. Galactus onbviously sees Franklin as a potential never-ending food source. In the comics, he's not evil, he's elemental and necessary, Aand when he sends his heralds like Silver Surfer or Shalla-Bal to scout planets, it's not personal. It's survival. The MCU's Fantastic Four is shaping up to be a story about parenthood, power, and survival on a galactic scale. It'll be interesting to see how Galactus' story arc ends up playing out and if he actually ends wiping out this 1960s-inspired Earth, causing the Fantastic Four to jump realities into Earth-616 setting up Avengers: Doomsday in 2026. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters July 25, 2025.
