'A lovely gentleman?': Taylor Swift's past praise for Diddy resurfaces as he faces sex trafficking indictment
Taylor Swift's past praise for Diddy resurfaces (Getty Images) In light of the explosive legal battles surrounding Sean 'Diddy' Combs, an old clip of Taylor Swift praising the now-disgraced music mogul has resurfaced, reigniting online conversation and raising eyebrows. The viral throwback, pulled from a 2011 appearance on The Rachael Ray Show, has suddenly become uncomfortable viewing for Swifties and pop culture watchers alike. A 2011 prom fantasy that hasn't aged well During the 'Swift Decision' segment on Rachael Ray, a 21-year-old Swift was asked to choose her ideal prom date from a selection of celebrities. Her pick? Diddy. 'Diddy's really always been very nice to me,' Swift said at the time. Ray chimed in supportively, adding, 'He's a gentleman, isn't he? He's a lovely gentleman.' While the moment came off as lighthearted and harmless back then, recent developments in Diddy's legal troubles have cast a dark shadow over the clip. Diddy's mounting legal storm and celebrity fallout Fast forward to late 2024, Diddy is now embroiled in a wide-reaching scandal involving sex trafficking, racketeering, and a cascade of sexual assault allegations. The charges have sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with multiple high-profile figures rumored to be nervously distancing themselves. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scalable retail: Video analytics firm enables more traffic thanks to robust computing power - Google Cloud: Future of Infrastructure CIO | Google Cloud, AMD Undo Diddy's infamous 'Freak Off' parties are reportedly at the center of the federal investigation, with authorities suggesting a wide web of complicity and silence. One user commented, 'This aged like milk,' while others were more forgiving, pointing out that Swift had no way of knowing what Diddy might have been involved in behind closed doors. While there's no suggestion that Swift had any real relationship or deeper connection to Diddy beyond brief celebrity interactions, the resurfacing of this clip shows how fast the reputations of pop culture icons can shift in hindsight. Kid Cudi Testifies in Diddy Trial — as Claim Resurfaces of Corkscrew Attack Against Cassie
Kid Cudi arrived at a Manhattan court on Thursday to testify in the high-profile trial of Diddy The rapper's testimony could be central to the prosecution's claims Diddy ran a criminal empire Kid Cudi was in a brief relationship with Cassie, Combs' on-again, off-again former girlfriend and the prosecution's star witness in the ongoing trialRapper Kid Cudi is in a Manhattan federal courtroom today to testify in Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial, which is about to wrap up its second week. The Grammy-award winning rapper, whose legal name is Scott Mescudi, was mentioned during the testimony of Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, Combs' on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend who alleged Combs assaulted her when he found out she was dating Mescudi. During Ventura's testimony last week, she reiterated claims she made in a 2023 lawsuit against Combs, claiming Combs became "enraged" when he learned she was dating Mescudi. Ventura and Combs were in a "rough patch" in their relationship at the time, she previously claimed in the lawsuit. In an alleged 2011 incident, Ventura was at a "Freak Off" upon Combs' insistence when he came upon email exchanges between her and Mescudi, Ventura alleged in the lawsuit. Combs allegedly "lunged" at Ventura with a corkscrew between his fingers, the lawsuit claims. During her testimony last week, Ventura said: "I just remember him putting a wine opener between his fingers and lunging at me." After Ventura escaped to Mescudi's house, Combs allegedly sent his associates to bring her back with the ruse of resolving the situation. When Ventura showed up, Combs allegedly beat and kicked her, she said in both the lawsuit and her testimony in court. He also allegedly threatened to release her "Freak Off" videos, she said during her testimony, a claim repeated by her mother in court this also testified that Combs had told her Mescudi's car would be blown up and that Combs wanted Mescudi's friends to see it. Around the same time this alleged threat was made, Mescudi's car blew up outside his home — an incident Combs has been accused by prosecutors of orchestrating. Mescudi's testimony can be critical for the prosecution because it is central to the racketeering charge, wherein federal prosecutors allege Combs ran a criminal enterprise for two decades and committed such crimes as arson. Earlier this week, the jury heard testimony from witnesses alleging Combs abused Ventura and carried a trove of drugs on him, including pills with former president Barack Obama's face on them. Law enforcement officials revealed the firearm components, baby oil and pink ketamine they found in his possession during their investigation. Combs has not been charged with drugs or firearms related offenses. He is on trial for racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Kid Cudi Expected to Testify at Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Trial This Week
Rapper Kid Cudi is expected to take the stand at Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial The rapper was in a relationship with Casandra "Cassie" Ventura while she was still involved with Diddy Ventura previously testified Combs threatened to blow up Cudi's car Rapper Scott Mescudi, better known by his stage name Kid Cudi, is expected to testify at Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial this week. Mescudi was in a relationship with Casandra "Cassie" Ventura after they met in December 2011, she testified last week. Ventura, who was in an 11-year relationship with Combs that ended in 2018, previously testified that she was 'up and down' at the time of her relationship with Mescudi and stated that she and Combs 'weren't in the greatest place." Combs found out Ventura was seeing Mescudi during a "Freak Off," she testified. Related: Diddy Trial Day 7 Live: Diddy's Former Personal Assistant, Cassie's Mom Both Testify 'I just remember [Combs] putting a wine opener between his fingers and lunging at me,' Ventura said. Ventura said Combs was "irate" and allegedly threatened to release "Freak Off" videos to harm her and Mescudi. 'Sean kicked me in the back, I fell on the floor and then left," Ventura testified. "I had a large bruise on my back and bruises on other places — he literally kicked me with the bottom of his foot." Ventura further testified that Combs grew so infuriated about her dating Mescudi that he threatened to blow up the "Day 'n' Nite" rapper's car — and wanted Cudi's friends to see it. 'Sean wanted Scott's friends to see Scott's car get blown up," Ventura indictment against Combs does not mention such an incident, though the government claims the racketeering conspiracy he allegedly led included arson, among other offenses. Ventura's 2023 lawsuit against Combs, which was settled a day after it was filed, includes a bit about the music mogul's anger at Mescudi — and goes on to note that the rapper's car blew up in his driveway in 2012. Mescudi told the New York Times in 2023 that his car blew up around that time. Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He could face life in prison if convicted. Read the original article on People

New Diddy photos show how rapper prepared for hotel 'Freak Off' despite knowing feds were on their way
Images shown in Sean ' Diddy ' Combs' trial reveal the disgraced rap mogul was preparing for a hotel 'Freak Off' despite knowing he was about to be arrested, prosecutors say. The shocking pictures were shown to jurors as Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie testified at his federal trial on Monday - after she previously alleged how she was coerced into a life of manipulatio n and abuse. They were taken by law enforcement when Diddy was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan in September 2024. The rapper had already agreed with his attorneys to surrender to authorities, but in his hotel room Diddy was assembling bottles of baby oil and mood lighting when teams were descending on the hotel to take him into custody. Other images show a mysterious pink powder in small bags, pills in pill bottles, a blue light heater and stacks of cash. Prosecutors claimed some drugs found in the room were found to be ketamine and MDMA. Cassie testified from the stand that Diddy was meticulous about how he would want a Freak Off room to be set up. This included wanting strongly scented candles to be lit at all times, which Cassie said were 'super pungent and were mixed with oil and all of the other scents.' She also claimed that Combs wanted her to heat up the baby oil before they would use it in the Freak Offs. Diddy has pleaded not guilty in his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial, with his attorneys claiming the pictures were from consensual parties as he denies any wrongdoing. It comes after prosecutors claimed last week that Diddy was caught preparing for one last hurrah of a Freak Off before he was arrested. One of the special agents who raided Diddy's hotel room, Yasin Binda, testified on Friday that federal authorities found a cache of suggestive and damning evidence in the room. Binda - who works for Homeland Security Investigations' human trafficking division - said baby oil was found alongside bags of Astroglide lubricant inside a closet. 'This is one zip lock bag filled with Johnson's baby oil and you see another zip lock bag filled with Astroglide that was in the hallway closet,' she said of what she found in Diddy's room at the Park Hyatt hotel on the night of the arrest. She also told the court that police found 'mood lighting' as well as drugs including ketamine and MDMA in his room. There were also pouches of pink powder in a bottle of medication in the drawer which may have been pink cocaine, and a prescription for Klonopin found, written for the name 'Frank Black' which could be a pseudonym for Combs. Baby oil: Diddy had been in New York for 11 days before his arrest and prosecutors said he was 'waiting potentially for his arrest' 'This is one zip lock bag filled with Johnson's baby oil and you see another zip lock bag filled with Astroglide that was in the hallway closet,' she said of what she found in Diddy's room at the Park Hyatt hotel on September 16, 2024. Diddy had been in New York for 11 days before his arrest and prosecutors said he was 'waiting potentially for his arrest.' The mogul looked stressed as agent Binda spoke and put his hand on the back of his head. The bombshell images were shown in court shortly after Cassie was seen in separate pictures with a large bruise on her upper lip during her relationship with Combs. Cassie said she sustained the injury in a horror episode inside a Los Angeles hotel where Combs was caught on surveillance footage kicking and stomping on her. 'That's me, a selfie of me with a fat lip,' the singer said in court when questioned over the picture. She said she took the selfie inside an Uber shortly after, and claimed she texted Diddy saying: 'I have a premiere for the biggest thing I've ever done in my life on Monday. You are sick for thinking it's OK to do what you've done. Please stay away from me.' The rapper reportedly then claimed he was getting arrested. Cassie said her then-best friend, model Kerry Morgan, became upset when she saw her face and called the cops. But Cassie said she chose to not report who had assaulted her when police showed up because she wanted to protect Diddy, adding: 'In in that moment I didn't want to hurt him that way. Just too much going on. A lot for me in that moment. I wasn't ready.' Cassie also testified about the start of her relationship with Diddy, saying it was initially a platonic mentorship before it became romantic during a trip to Miami when she celebrated her 21st birthday. In another picture shown in court, Cassie was seen with a large cut over her left eye, which she claimed she sustained in Canada when Diddy threw her into a bed frame. Cassie said she suffered a 'pretty significant gash' above her left eye. Diddy's security personnel brought her to a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills to get the wound stitched up. Afterward, she texted Diddy a photo of her injured face and wrote: 'So you can remember.' Diddy replied: 'You don't know when to stop. You pushed it too far. And continued to push. Sad.'

Cassie Ventura Threatened to Kill Man Over Alleged ‘Freak Off' Video, Jury Hears in Diddy Trial
In a dramatic moment during Sean 'Diddy' Combs ' ongoing sex trafficking trial, jurors were played a chilling audio recording of singer Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura threatening to kill a man who claimed to possess video footage of a so-called 'Freak Off.' The revelation came during Ventura's fourth day of testimony, as she continues to serve as a key witness for the prosecution. On Friday, May 16, defense attorneys introduced a recording from 2014 in which Ventura confronted a man who claimed he had a video of a 'Freak Off' — the term she has used in court to describe sex acts she says Combs forced her to participate in alongside male sex workers. In the audio, Cassie can be heard saying, 'You're lying about my f—ing life. I want to kill you, cut you up and put you in the f—ing dirt.' Ventura, who dated Combs on and off for 11 years, testified that she believed a sex worker had filmed the encounter and that she immediately told Combs, who allegedly responded by saying he'd 'take care of it.' She added that Combs was deeply concerned about any sexually explicit videos being leaked. In the same audio, Ventura is also heard saying, 'I'm going to kill you, and then he's gonna kill you again… Be my brother and tell me what you saw.' The intense exchange underscores the pressure and paranoia surrounding the alleged recordings and the control Ventura says Combs exerted over her throughout their relationship. As Ventura nears the end of her cross-examination — while pregnant and close to her due date — her testimony continues to deliver pivotal moments in the trial. Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution. The trial remains ongoing, with Cassie's statements painting a disturbing picture of coercion, surveillance, and alleged abuse behind the scenes of Combs' celebrity empire.
