Hurry! Panasonic's killer Mini-LED TV is just $379 right now
If you've been shopping around for a 55-inch TV that won't give you sticker shock, have I got a deal for you. Right now, the 55-inch Panasonic W95A is just $397 at BuyDig. To put that into perspective, consider this: When this fantastic Mini-LED debuted last year, it was priced around $1,299. This isn't some cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel TV with barebones features and a so-so performance. This is a top-tier Mini-LED model with a bright, cinematic picture and a lengthy list of enhancements for gaming and streaming. Once upon a time, the Panasonic W95A hit store shelves at around $1,299. Right now, it's sitting at the cool, low price of $397. This impressive Mini-LED TV is bright enough for daytime viewing, finely tuned for a rich, accurate picture for movie nights, and stocked with useful gaming features for both casual and dedicated gamers. BuyDig's price is currently better than Amazon' check: $497 at Amazon First, let's talk about BuyDig. When you head over to the listing, you'll notice that a coupon has already been applied to the W95A's sale price. BuyDig is a reputable online shop based out of New Jersey. I recommend taking advantage of BuyDig's discount, because as far as I can tell, the W95A isn't this discounted anywhere else. (Its currently listed for $497 at Amazon, for instance.) Now, let's talk about the W95A itself, and why this is a fantastic candidate for upgrading your living room. The W95A isn't just an affordable Mini-LED TV, it's a downright impressive one. The W95A isn't just an affordable Mini-LED TV, it's a downright impressive one. Our Panasonic W95A review is glowing, as this TV not only checks the right performance boxes, it also supports a gaming- and streaming-centric lifestyle. Its HDR highlight brightness is well over 1,000 nits, and on the whole, the W95A is bright enough for pretty much every viewing environment. Its backlight control is better than what you'll find on entry-level LED TVs with more rudimentary local dimming. You're getting a decent spread of gaming features with the W95A, too. These include a pair of HDMI 2.1 inputs, support for 4K gaming at 120Hz, FreeSync Premium support and G-Sync compatibility. Unlike Samsung Mini-LED TVs, the W95A supports Dolby Vision, the most popular HDR format. One thing to keep in mind is that the W95A is a Fire TV, so it runs on Amazon's Fire TV operating system for all of its built-in streaming features. Fire TV supports a wide range of streaming apps and services, but it's not our favorite software suite due to its cluttered user interface and occasional sluggishness. It does offer nifty smart home integration for Alexa-wired households, though, which you may or may not find useful. If Fire TV worries you, just do what I would do: bypass it. Put the money you're saving on the W95A towards one of the best streaming devices and use it as your daily driver. According to the BuyDig listing, this sale price is only valid for a few more days.

It's Official – a Handheld Xbox is Coming This Fall
Microsoft'slong-rumored entry intohandheld gamingfinally has a release window: holiday 2025. The tech giant today unveiled two new devices – theROG Xbox AllyandROG Xbox Ally X– developed in partnership withASUSand created with both casual and more serious gamers in mind. The upcomingXboxhandhelds have been 'built from the ground up,' according to ASUS, with Microsoft adding that it has 'dedicated years' to get to this point. Designed with Xbox players in mind they feature contoured grips 'inspired by Xbox Wireless Controllers' that should feel instantly familiar in-hand, together with ergonomics the brands promise will provide 'all-day comfort.' They share a 7-inch, 16:9, 1080p touchscreen IPS display with FreeSync Premium and a 120Hz refresh rate. They also both feature Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, the same button layout and overall dimensions, but the similarities end there. TheROG Xbox Ally– the cheaper of the two, though final pricing isn't confirmed – runs on AMD's 'Ryzen Z2 A' processor, has 16GB RAM and a 512GB internal storage, and though capable of outputting 1080p, Microsoft says this model is targeted at 720p gaming owing to its less powerful specs. It includes a 60Wh battery and two USB 3.2 Type-C ports. Meanwhile, the more powerfulROG Xbox Ally Xruns on AMD's improved 'Ryzen Z2 Extreme' processor, features 8GB more RAM (24GB in total) and double the internal storage with a 1TB SSD. It also includes a larger 80Wh battery and one of its Type-C ports is the faster USB 4 kind. Both models, however, feature microSD card readers, allowing users to upgrade their storage easily. Like ASUS' originalROG AllyandROG Ally Xbefore them, the newly announcedROG Xbox AllyandROG Xbox Ally Xare still – technically speaking –gaming PCsrunning Windows under the hood. But unlike the originals, they're set to launch with a completely new front-end developed specifically for handheld gaming. In other words, instead of booting into the standard, not-so-gamer-friendly Windows interface like a regular PC, the new devices will launch into a custom interface designed by Xbox's own engineers – a 'full-screen [Xbox] experience' that Microsoft says has been 'optimized specifically for handheld gaming.' The updated user interface (UI) isn't just a visual refresh, though, and it's not only about improving user experience (UX). Instead, the software tweaks – subtle on the surface – are designed to help the system better leverage its hardware for improved performance across the board: by stripping out some of the backend processes typical of a standard Windows machine, the new Xbox handhelds will have more RAM and other computing power at their disposal. Microsoft and ASUS have not confirmed a release date or final pricing as of yet, but stay tuned for more information as we get it. In the meantime, check out the official trailer below.

ROG Xbox Ally: Everything we know about the two new gaming handhelds from Microsoft and Asus
Hot on the heels of the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox is joining the handheld party with the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. You may also know this as the Asus ROG Ally 2 or Project Kennan, and Microsoft took the chance at the Xbox Games Showcase to show it off ahead of its fall 2025 launch (price yet unknown). With these two new handhelds come new chips, a completely reimagined full-screen Xbox UI (hopefully, this means no more Windows 11 desktop on a handheld screen), and drastically boosted performance that could make these the best gaming handhelds you can buy today. Let's get into what you're getting here, the games you'll be playing on them, and why Microsoft is finally on the right track to taking on SteamOS. You're getting the new Xbox Ally in two flavors. Category Xbox Ally Xbox Ally X Operating System Windows 11 Home Windows 11 Home Processor AMD Ryzen™ Z2 A Processor AMD Ryzen™ AI Z2 Extreme Processor Memory 16GB LPDDR5X-6400 24GB LPDDR5X-8000 Storage 512GB M.2 2280 SSD (upgradeable) 1TB M.2 2280 SSD (upgradeable) Display 7" 16:9 FHD (1080p) IPS, 500 nits, 120Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, Gorilla Glass Victus + DXC Anti-Reflection 7" 16:9 FHD (1080p) IPS, 500 nits, 120Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, Gorilla Glass Victus + DXC Anti-Reflection Graphics AMD Radeon™ RDNA 3 Graphics AMD Radeon™ RDNA 3 Graphics with AI Boost Battery 60Wh 80Wh I/O Ports 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, microSD reader, 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack 1x USB4 Type-C with Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, microSD reader (DDR200), 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack Network Wi-Fi 6E (2x2) + Bluetooth 5.4 Wi-Fi 6E (2x2) + Bluetooth 5.4 Audio Dual Smart Amp speakers, Dolby Atmos, AI noise-canceling microphone Dual Smart Amp speakers, Dolby Atmos, AI noise-canceling microphone Dimensions & Weight 11.4 × 4.8 × 1.99 inches, 1.48 pounds 11.4 × 4.8 × 1.99 inches, 1.48 pounds Launch Date Holiday 2025 Holiday 2025 Price Unknown Unknown If you saw the Project Kennan leaks earlier this year, you won't be too surprised by the looks of this new handheld. And while others have been saying this looks like a toy, I actually dig this form factor, along with the small nods to Xbox in this mostly-Asus aesthetic. The proper controller grips look like this will give it a great hand-feel — something proper to hold onto. So far, the only thing that's come close to establishing a good grip has been the new AMD-fuelled MSI Claw A8, but this looks set to take it to the next level. Oh, and you're also getting everything you'd expect from an Xbox controller like HD haptics and Hall Effect L and R triggers. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Up front, you've got the same 7-inch 1080p panels across the pair, which are IPS screens with 120Hz refresh rate and protection courtesy of Gorilla Glass Victus. There are slight port differences here, as you're getting USB4 in the premium model, and in that pricier model, you're also seeing the battery capacity upgraded from 60Wh to 80Wh. And trust me when I say that additional capacity is needed for what the new AMD chip is able to do. But while the hardware design only hints at the Xbox partnership here and there, the software has had a dramatic overhaul to tackle some of the key problems we've been talking about for well over a year now. Just to address what they are: Well, looks like Microsoft took this on board and has finally done something about it with the re-engineered Xbox app. Not only can you set it to full screen mode to just start up into it, but when you do so, all Windows 11 processes (including the desktop itself) will be disabled. That gives you up to 2GB of RAM back for gaming! So not only do you get a re-engineered UI that gives you an aggregated gaming library across all your libraries like Steam and Game Pass, a controller-centric design for navigating zippily, but all that Windows overhead is being eliminated too, so you can make the most of your system's RAM. As Jez Corden has added over at Windows Central, Xbox has confirmed that this new Xbox app and the re-tooled Windows 11 are exclusive to the Xbox Ally and Ally X until 'early 2026' when 'other devices like the Lenovo Legion Go' will start to get it too. In terms of what is powering the games under the hood, you've got two fresh new chips from AMD: the Ryzen Z2 A and the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme. We've already caught a glimpse of these at Computex, but without the NPUs to deliver on the AI features. The Ryzen Z2 A is a drastically cut back APU that seems to be aimed at lower-power gaming for indie titles and the such — packing 4 cores/8 threads and being built on the efficient 'Zen 2' architecture for performance configurable up to 20 watts. However, this does mean you're only getting AMD's 5-year-old RDNA 2 graphics. But the real party starts with the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme — basically the laptop-centric Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chipset with a new name. 8 cores/16 threads running on AMD's latest Zen 5 architecture for the fastest multitasking, highest power output at 35 watts, and double the GPU core count. The end result? As Microsoft confirmed, Gears of War: Reloaded is capable of running at a 'completely stable 1080p 60 FPS' according to Corden's Windows rep. That's AAA console gaming on a handheld with Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme! As Xbox CEO Sarah Bond said herself, every game announced at the Showcase is Xbox Play Anywhere. So here's what got announced at the Showcase. And of course, you have the rest of the Xbox Game Pass library, as well as anything you bought on Steam, Epic Games Store and more to play. This is the big question mark that's getting me nervous. No company told me the price at Computex, and everybody is quiet here too, and that's because of the tariffs. Nobody wants to jump until they're 100% sure what is happening to all their components, and the uncertainty is driving the cost up. Given these are full purchases with a docking station included too, I'd venture a guess and say the Ryzen Z2 A model is going to come in at around $500, and the top of the line could be anywhere between $800-$1,000. Microsoft has confirmed that there are more accessories being announced soon, so stay tuned for a new case and maybe some device mods! I've been clear about my problems with Windows gaming handhelds, and it looks like Microsoft's taken that personally. On paper, these seem incredible with huge touted performance uplifts, fresh designs that look real comfortable to hold, and a real attention paid to stripping that Windows experience away to give you just the games. We'll know more when we get some proper hands-on time with it closer to its launch this fall.

This esports-grade monitor is absurdly fast, but comes with one big downside
These days, the top gaming monitors offer crazy fast refresh rates. After all, in lots of games, whether you win or lose can come down to how fast your reactions are – and a super fast monitor helps with that. Asus's latest esports-grade monitor is absurdly fast, unlike anything I've ever seen before. Asus's new ROG Strix Ace XG248QSG offers a 610 Hz refresh rate display. That's not a typo, it really is 610Hz. It marks the brand's latest entry into the great refresh rate arms race, with a name as ridiculous as the specs. It's got a native 600Hz refresh rate and can be overclocked to 610Hz, just in case your reflexes are faster than the speed of light. Asus is clearly aiming this thing at the esports crowd – the kind who twitch headshots into existence. But it comes with one really big downside, and that's the panel tech on the inside. Read more: Best gaming laptops in 2025 reviewed and ranked This kind of speed comes at the expense of panel quality, because Asus has decided to dust off TN technology for this monitor. Not just any TN panel, but a Super TN panel. That's marketing speak for 'it's still a TN panel, but we pinky promise it looks a bit less pants now.' You seen, TN panels are known for pretty poor colour accuracy (a tendency to yellow, to be precise) and viewing angles that don't tend to cooperate. So that's characters that look jaundiced that you can't see unless you're facing dead-on. Apparently, this Super TN panel offers better brightness at 370 nits, and covers 90% of DCI-P3. While that's impressive if true for a TN panel, it's a far cry from the best gaming monitors kicking around. Asus also packed in ELMB2 (Extreme Low Motion Blur 2), AI visual boosts, and dynamic crosshairs, to try and compensate for the lacklustre image. Now, don't get me wrong – there's clearly some proper engineering muscle behind this thing. A 0.1 ms response time, input lag under one millisecond, and support for both FreeSync Premium and G-Sync is nothing to scoff at. And the 24.1-inch FHD panel size is right in the sweet spot for serious competitive play. But still, it's hard to ignore that TN panel. A really fast one, sure, but TN nonetheless. The monitor's design is fairly muted – a matte black affair with no RGB nonsense. I'm a little surprised by that for something in the ROG line-up, but I guess the lights would have been too much to cram in. You do get decent ergonomics though: height, swivel, and tilt adjustments are all here. Connectivity is handled by two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, headphone jack, and a USB-C port. If you're eyeing up one of these beasts, Asus hasn't revealed details yet. We don't know how much it'll cost nor when you'll be able to order it. But it's safe to assume this won't be a bargain-bin special.
