When tech billionaire Mark Cuban told the story of the day 'Bill Gates stole 'His Girls' in Las Vegas
Mark Cuban may be a billionaire now, but back in the 1980s, he was just a young tech founder trying to make his mark. During a 2022 episode of the Full Send Podcast, which is available on YouTube, Cuban shared a story from a night at COMDEX, which he claims was a major tech trade show in Las Vegas, where he found himself upstaged by none other than Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. At this event, Cuban recalled chatting with a group of women when they suddenly disappeared, only to learn they had left with Gates, who had just taken Microsoft public and was quickly becoming a tech icon. Cuban noted jokingly that Gates took away 'his girls.' Mark Cuban on Bill Gates Stealing His Girl! What Mark Cuban said about meeting Bill Gates in his early days During the podcast (Cue: 24.29), when asked about a business competition that keeps him up at night, Cuban shared the story about him and Bill Gates in Las Vegas. Cuban said, 'I'll tell you a story about in Vegas back in the day about Bill Gates . This is way back, it used to be like the biggest trade show in the world was called Comdex. It was a technology trade show, and it was like 125,000 people here, and I started my company when I was 26, 27, right along this. So, I just thought I was a bada**, right? So I'm hanging with these girls, and this was right when Microsoft had gone public. So, one day no one knows who Bill Gates is, the next day he's the king of tech and all this money and all this snap.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar As the hosts asked Cuban about his net worth at the time, He said: 'I was maybe worth a million dollars. Mark Cuban Says 'Back In The Day' Bill Gates Stole 'His Girls' In Las Vegas — He Was Worth $1 Million, But Gates Was The Mega Rich 'King of Tech'
Before Mark Cuban became a billionaire, a TV fixture, and a guy who casually disrupts Big Pharma for fun, he was just another confident tech founder trying to make it in the '80s. He had a million-dollar company, a little swagger, and—at least for one night in Las Vegas—a front-row seat to what happens when Bill Gates walks into a bar. It all came up during a 2022 episode of the "Full Send Podcast", after the hosts asked Cuban about competition and missed opportunities. That's when he lit up with: "I'll tell you a story. I'll tell you a story about in Vegas back in the day about Bill Gates." Don't Miss: 'Scrolling To UBI' — Deloitte's #1 fastest-growing software company allows users to earn money on their phones. Hasbro, MGM, and Skechers trust this AI marketing firm — This wasn't just any Vegas story—it was COMDEX, one of the biggest tech trade shows in the world at the time. According to Cuban, the crowd was massive. "125,000 people," he said. "I started my company, I was like 26, 27... and I just thought I was a badass." He was feeling good, hanging with a group of women, ordering shots, and assuming the night was going his way. "This was right when Microsoft had gone public," he said. "So one day, no one knows who Bill Gates is. The next day, he's the king of tech." That's when the girls told him they needed to run to the bathroom—and never returned. "I'm like, what the f***?" Cuban said, still laughing about it decades later. His buddy leaned over and broke the news: "Yo, do you know who Bill Gates is?" Trending: The team behind $6B+ in licensing deals is now building the next billion-dollar IP empire — Turns out Gates had just hit a net worth of around $350 million. Cuban? "I was maybe worth a million dollars." Which made him... invisible. "Bill Gates took my girls!" he admitted, laughing. But the sting was real. The host cut in: "Did that fire you up? That should've motivated you, right?" "It did motivate me," Cuban shot back. "Right? To find—to go on to the next..." Years later, Cuban finally got a chance to one-up the tech legend. After selling he was invited to speak at a conference. The organizers mentioned Gates would be speaking first. "I'm like, the only reason I'm doing this is because Bill Gates is talking right before me," he when it was his turn, he walked out on stage and delivered the zinger he'd probably been waiting years to say: "I'm excited to tell you I sold my company... and finally, after all these years, Bill Gates is my opening act." Cuban says Gates "got so pissed." And the kicker? "I've never talked to him since," Cuban said. "Not to this day." Not out of spite. "Not that I've had any reason to talk to him," he added. But that night in Vegas? Still a core memory. He may have lost the girls, but Cuban got the punchline. And maybe a little satisfaction knowing that even tech royalty doesn't always get the last word. Belal Muhammad reveals verbal exchange that triggered Kamaru Usman podcast altercation
Belal Muhammad reveals verbal exchange that triggered Kamaru Usman podcast altercation UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has provided a play-by-play of what happened when he appeared on Kamaru Usman's podcast. Muhammad (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) appeared on Usman's "Pound 4 Pound" podcast with Henry Cejudo, but the episode was never released. That's because the pair allegedly got into a physical confrontation, which required Cejudo to intervene. Usman (20-4 MMA, 15-3 UFC) recently said that things between him and Muhammad are at a point where security would be needed if they were in the same place. Both fighters remained fairly mum about what exactly happened, but Muhammad has decided to reveal what he said to cause the heated moment. "We were on his podcast, and Henry Cejudo was like, 'How does it feel to be champion? You're at the top now.' And I said it feels good right now because everybody wants to listen to you, everybody thinks you're the champ," Muhammad said on the "Full Send Podcast." "Usman's like, 'I was the champ, too.' And I said, 'Yeah, but you're not the champ anymore.' And then he just couldn't let it go. He's like, 'But I'm right there.' "I'm like, 'No, bro, you're on a three-fight losing streak.' He's like, 'I still had the belt.' I'm the champion now, and he just couldn't give me my props. Then he was like, 'Anything you do, I do better than you.' And then I was like, 'But you didn't take the head kick better than me.' And I think that just triggered him. He was like, 'I don't play these games, man. It's on sight when people talk like that.' On sight? We're right in front of each other." Muhammad makes his first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in Saturday's UFC 315 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) main event at Bell Centre in Montreal.

Paddy Pimblett goes off on Arman Tsarukyan for fumbling UFC 311 title shot
Paddy Pimblett is convinced Arman Tsarukyan was cleared to fight at UFC 311 but opted not to. Tsarukyan (22-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) withdrew from his main event against UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in January just one day earlier after pulling his back. Makhachev ended up facing Renato Moicano instead and submitted him in Round 1. Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) went off on Tsarukyan for not competing. 'The only person in the top 10 I can think of who's under 35 is Arman Tsarukyan,' Pimblett said on the 'Full Send Podcast.' 'He's just a little posh boy who's had everything handed to him on a silver platter by his dad. No (he didn't get injured), he's a little b*tch ass. That's what you are, Arman, little b*tch boy.' UFC CEO Dana White was not pleased with Tsarukyan's last-minute pullout and said the No. 1 contender will have to fight his way back to a title shot. 'Dana shot him down in that interview. I was like, 'Whoa, that's heavy,'' Pimblett said. 'You don't want the boss saying that about you because he got asked is Arman still No. 1 and he was like, 'No, he's going to have to go back to the drawing board.' … He decided he's not going to fight. So basically, Arman, you sh*t your pants. You farted and followed through and had sh*t coming down your leg.' Pimblett will look to emerge as a top lightweight contender when he takes on former title challenger Michael Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) in Saturday's five-round UFC 314 co-headliner (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Kaseya Center in Miami. Tsarukyan fired back at Pimblett and is willing to fight him if he emerges victorious against Chandler. says the guy who got the easiest path to the top in ufc just because he's got a funny accent and budget beatles haircut. I dare you to call me out if you win and we will see who will shit his pants in the octagon when we meet clown @PaddyTheBaddy — Arman Tsarukyan UFC (@ArmanUfc) April 8, 2025 For more on the card, visit MMA Junkie's event hub for UFC 314.

Dana White explains Ilia Topuria's decision to vacate UFC Featherweight Title
Once the referee signals the start of the UFC 314 main event, Ilia Topuria's featherweight reign will officially come to an end. UFC CEO Dana White announced on Wednesday that Topuria (16-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) is vacating his featherweight title as he moves up to the lightweight division. 'Topuria has felt like he's done all he can in that division, and he feels like he's cemented his legacy, and his body cannot make the weight anymore,' White said on Instagram Live. 'So Topuria will be moving up to 155 pounds and will be vacating the featherweight title. … As soon as the first punch is thrown in (Volkanovski vs. Lopes), the title is vacated.' With the belt up for grabs, former champion Alexander Volkanovski will face surging contender Diego Lopes for the vacant title at UFC 314. Topuria exits the featherweight division after an undefeated 2024 campaign, where he won the title by knocking out Volkanovski at UFC 298 and later defended it with another knockout victory over Max Holloway at UFC 308. Now shifting his focus to the lightweight division, Topuria has already set his sights on the division's reigning champion, Islam Makhachev. 'I really believe that I can beat the current champion, Islam,' Topuria said on the 'Full Send Podcast.' 'He's a great champion, but I like to fight people that fans think will be competitive. With Islam, I'm going to have that.' With Topuria moving up, the featherweight division will see a fresh title fight at UFC 314, as Volkanovski looks to reclaim his throne against Lopes, who has been making waves with his recent performances.
