The couple were no doubt celebrating GK's new career move after she landed a spot on BBC Radio 1's schedule this summer. The star will present her very own show for the entire month of July after BBC bosses announced a schedule shakeup. GK will host Radio 1's afternoon show from July 4 and will be on air from 1pm to 4pm every Saturday and Sunday. Speaking about her new gig, GK told MailOnline: 'I'm really excited to be presenting my own show with BBC Radio 1 this summer. It's totally different to podcasting and I'm ready to get stuck in! 'As someone who travels a lot for work I'm always listening to the radio, so I can't wait to interact with the listeners and get them involved in all the fun.' Teasing her new show, the BBC said the TiKToker will be joined by 'special guests' who will co-host the programme alongside her. In April Ella shared a rare insight into her relationship with the TV star, admitting 'she's changed my life for the better'. Speaking on talkSPORT's The Kickback, Ella said: 'She [GK Barry] really just became, straight away, as soon as I met her, that rock - that I obviously had with family and stuff but I think it's different when you've got a partner and you're going home to them every night. 'She hasn't got a clue what's going on. I asked "babe what do you do when I'm playing?" and she's just like "I just watch you". 'Sometimes she'll say like "that was a free kick" and she'll know a corner but I do need to sit her down. 'At the start I was banging my head because she didn't know what goal we were scoring in or what team we were - I said "we're wearing all blue babe you need to just look at our team". 'But she's come on, bless her. That's nice for me as well because she really does try to understand it as well as me understanding what she does and supporting her. 'She's been a massive support for me this year so that's been nice.' GK previously admitted she was 'terrified' of first meeting Ella as she hadn't yet dated a woman after coming out. She said: 'I knew I was bi, but I was really scared to date a woman. It was territory I'd never been in. I was really terrified to meet Ella. We had a mutual friend. 'I looked at her Instagram and I thought, "look at the calves on that! There's no way I'm letting her go." So I plucked up the courage and went on a date.' The couple are now happier than ever, with Grace adding: 'It was the best decision ever. We have been inseparable since. We live together now. Sometimes she does drive me up the wall, but with love, of course.'

GK Barry lands biggest career move to date as she takes on huge new role
After building a loyal following online and appearing on I'm A Celebrity, GK Barry is expanding her media presence with a major national radio debut on BBC Radio 1 Grace Keeling, better known as GK Barry, is stepping into a new role this summer—hosting her very own weekend show on BBC Radio 1 throughout July. Known for her rise from TikTok fame and I'm A Celebrity appearances, the 25-year-old influencer will be on air every Saturday and Sunday from 1–4pm starting July 4. 'This is completely different from podcasting,' she told MailOnline. 'I'm really excited to be presenting my own show with BBC Radio 1 this summer… I'm always listening to the radio when I travel, so I can't wait to interact with the listeners and get them involved in all the fun.' The BBC has teased that GK will be joined by 'special guests' throughout her run, offering fans a new side to the digital star. Meanwhile, fellow celebrity Jamie Laing is also returning to the airwaves - this time alongside his wife, Sophie Habboo, who'll co-host while his usual presenters are on maternity leave. Away from her growing media career, GK has spoken candidly about her childhood in the British Virgin Islands and her difficult transition back to the UK. Born Grace Keeling, she spent her early years in Tortola with her mother Loretta and stepfather Andrew, whom she considers her dad. 'From as young as I can remember, I was in Tortola and I was one of the only white girls,' she shared on the Loose Women podcast. 'All the aunties were doing my hair… little cornrows… I never saw anything different about that.' She described her school life there as racially diverse and inclusive. 'There were so many different races... I was friends with everyone. I had an incredible time.' But the move to Cambridge at age eight was a harsh contrast. 'We moved back to a predominantly white, small town, and I had a Caribbean accent,' she said. 'Now Jane, I don't know if you've ever gone into a small town with a Caribbean accent and be white, but it's vicious.' Struggling to connect with her peers, she recalled, 'Most people couldn't wrap their head around [it at school]... I'm talking about my life and people had no clue what I was on about.' She also remembered the racism her stepfather endured. 'My dad was getting a lot of hate at the time… so it was sort of just like, 'I don't really know where we all stand here'.' Host Jane Moore clarified, 'This is your stepdad, but he's your dad,' to which GK agreed.

Speaking on the Loose Women podcast, GK told Jane Moore that her family moved to a small town that was 'predominantly white,' and her classmates couldn't 'wrap their head around' her Caribbean accent. Speaking about her upbringing in the British Virgin Islands, GK said: 'From as young as I can remember, I was in Tortola and I was one of the only white girls. 'All the aunties were doing my hair, they were braiding my hair, little cornrows and I just never saw anything different about that. I just thought, ''Oh, this is it''. 'But also the school that I went to, there were so many different races that it was just normal for me to see just any race, at any time… So I was friends with everyone. I had an incredible time.' Discussing her family moving back to the UK, she explained: 'And then when I moved back to the UK, we moved back to a predominantly white, small town and I had a Caribbean accent.
