The 2025 American Music Awards are set to kick off later today live from Las Vegas with Jennifer Lopez as host. Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar leads this year's AMA nominations with a total of 10: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (GNX), Song of the Year ('Not Like Us'), Collaboration of the Year ('Luther' with SZA), Favorite Music Video ('Not Like Us'), Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Hip-Hop Album (GNX), Favorite Hip-Hop Song (x3 – 'Like That' with Future and Metro Boomin, 'Not Like Us,' and 'Luther' with SZA). GlycoNex Announces Publication of Research Involving Pro-Antibody, GNX201, in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Pre-clinical research demonstrates selectivity and safety of protease-activated antibody for gastrointestinal cancers NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan, May 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- GlycoNex, Inc. (4168, hereinafter referred to as GNX), a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the development of glycan-directed cancer immunotherapies, today announced the publication of a peer-reviewed study in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (309, 143176) involving a prototype of GNX201 (L-HKM4). The article presents preclinical findings on a prototype of GNX201 in a series of in vitro and in vivo models to test its ability to selectively target tumor-associated glycans while avoiding normal tissues. GNX201 is based on GNX's HKM4 antibody but modified with a protease-cleavable masking domain, developed in collaboration with PrecisemAb Biotech Co.,Ltd.'s "Universal Antibody Lock Technology". This design blocks its activity until the antibody reaches tumor sites rich in matrix metalloproteinases. The goal of this pro-antibody approach is to improve the therapeutic window of glycan-targeting therapies by minimizing off-tumor binding in normal tissues. "These findings support the potential of protease-activated antibodies to overcome longstanding safety concerns associated with glycan-targeting therapies," said Dr. Mei-Chun Yang, CEO of GlycoNex. "This work marks an important milestone in our efforts to develop tumor-selective anti-glycan therapies and expands the therapeutic possibilities for hard-to-treat gastrointestinal cancers." Building on these promising results, GNX201 is being further developed as a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) candidate. With its demonstrated tumor specificity and favorable safety profile, GNX201 provides a robust foundation for ADC construction aimed at delivering potent cytotoxic payloads selectively to tumors, while minimizing systemic toxicity. The development of GNX201 is expected to provide patients with a safer therapeutic option." Pro-Antibody technology has emerged as a next-generation strategy in antibody drug development, offering an effective solution to reduce the toxicity commonly associated with conventional antibody therapies. This publication marks the first report globally to validate the successful application of the Pro-Antibody strategy to glycan-targeting antibodies. It addresses the longstanding challenges of limited selectivity and normal tissue toxicity often observed in glycan antigen-targeted therapies, presenting significant scientific and commercial value. Looking ahead, GlycoNex will continue the development of GNX201 and actively seek clinical and strategic partners to accelerate translational advancement and licensing opportunities. About GNX201GNX201 is an anti-TACA pro-antibody that applies PrecisemAb Biotech's proprietary "Antibody Lock" technology, by fusing a masking peptide to the variable region of the anti-TACA mAb via a cleavable linker. By design, the generated pro-antibody is "turned on" by dropping the masking peptide in the tumor microenvironment whereas in circulation it remains in an off state with the masked domain. This selective activation in tumors allows GNX201 to accurately target tumors rather than doing harm to antigens in normal organs. In pre-clinical studies, GNX201 has demonstrated an ability to lower normal tissue reactivity, enhance the capability of tumor-localized activation, and improve comparable tumor growth inhibition in vivo to the unmasked mAb in xenograft models. AMAs Winners 2025 Full and final list of winners: Billie Eilish, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, RM win big; Taylor Swift snubbed
The 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) lit up the Fontainebleau with a star-studded celebration of musical excellence, where Billie Eilish emerged as the night's undisputed queen, sweeping all seven categories she was nominated in — including the coveted Artist of the Year. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter also took home Song of the Year and Favorite Pop Song for 'Birds of a Feather,' as well as Favorite Pop Album for Hit Me Hard and Soft. She also clinched Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Album of the Year, a newly introduced category. Among other major winners, SZA picked up Favourite Female R&B Artist and Favourite R&B Song for her hit 'Saturn,' while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars shared trophies for Collaboration of the Year and Favourite Music Video with their infectious duet 'Die With a Smile.' The 2025 American Music Awards just dropped a cultural bomb and let us tell you, this winners list has more drama than a Lana Del Rey lyric. From emotional upsets to jaw-dropping sweeps, this year's ceremony was a genre-blurring rollercoaster of old faves, new icons, and fashion that screamed main character energy. American Music Awards 2025 Let us start with the queen of haunting melodies, Billie Eilish walked away with the crown for Artist of the Year, edging out a stacked lineup that included Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and Chappell Roan. Gracie Abrams, who is literally the soundtrack to every emotionally unstable 20-something's life, snagged New Artist of the Year, proving that soft girls run the game now. Over in Album of the Year territory, Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter lassoed in a nomination but it was Billie again who stayed booked and busy with Hit Me Hard and Soft. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan, who already owns TikTok with Good Luck, Babe!, made her award show presence known, even if she did not take home the big ones. (Justice for Midwest Princess.) Let us not even pretend that the night did not belong to SZA too—she took Favourite Female R&B Artist and R&B Song for Saturn. At this point, her impact on music and astrology is undeniable. Kendrick did bag Hip-Hop Song of the Year though, proving you can still roast your rivals and win awards doing it. Charli XCX's Brat era continued slaying with three nominations, solidifying her as pop's most unbothered innovator. In Latin music, Bad Bunny scooped up multiple nods while Becky G reigned supreme among the female contenders. And let us not ignore rock—Hozier's Too Sweet continues to ruin lives in the best way possible. Oh, and Jennifer Lopez hosted in Vegas like it was her award show, because honestly, it kind of was. The countdown is on for one of the biggest nights in music — the 2025 American Music Awards. Fans around the world are gearing up to watch their favourite artists take the stage in a celebration of this year's biggest chart-toppers and breakout stars. The AMAs will broadcast live on Monday, May 26, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, and for viewers in India, that means Tuesday, May 27, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. IST. The ceremony will air on CBS and stream live via Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. For those without cable, a Paramount+ premium subscription gives access to the live show, while the basic tier allows fans to stream it on-demand after the broadcast. The night will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez, who is also slated to perform. Music icons Janet Jackson (receiving the Icon Award) and Rod Stewart (Lifetime Achievement Award) are among the evening's special honourees and live performers. Additional live acts include Becky G, Benson Boone, Gwen Stefani, Gloria Estefan, Lainey Wilson, Manuel Turizo, Reneé Rapp and Alex Warren.
