Here's how exhibitors are dividing two different climax versions of 'Housefull 5' in the theatres so that both get equal screens, Gaiety-Galaxy owner spills details

'Housefull 5' is set to release in theatres on June 6. However, the film has created history as it will be the first ever Indian film to have two different climaxes and both the versions will be released in different theatres - called 'Housefull 5A' and 'Housefull 5B'. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now It's a one of a kind strategy which might really benefit the movie if the content is good as people might watch the film twice for two different climaxes. Manoj Desai, executive director, G7 multiplex (Gaiety Galaxy) and Maratha Mandir cinemas, told Etimes, "I personally spoke to producer Sajid Nadiadwala and we've decided that a different version of the film will play at Galaxy and a different version at Gaeity. Thus, both the theatres will have a unique experience. It will benefit the theatres and the movie both. I'm quite happy with this unique strategy which we've never seen. This is a first! Gaiety will have four shows of Housefull 5A while Galaxy will screen for shows of Housefull 5B." Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama has quoted a source saying on this matter, "The idea is to have equal shows for both versions. So, if Housefull 5A has been allotted two screens and 10 shows, the same would also apply to Housefull 5B. But in some cases, that won't be practical to do especially if the theatre can provide an odd number of shows, that is, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. Then, Housefull 5A will have the edge.' The portal further reported, that in some single screen cinemas like Chitra, Roxy, Kasturba, Citylight, Inox Nakshatra, PVR Le Reve, Regal, MovieTime Suburbia, Gold Cinema Santacruz, Gold Cinema Thane, are playing 3 shows of Housefull 5A and 2 shows of Housefull 5B." Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Thus, there will be equal number of shows of both the versions. 'Housefull 5' is releasing in about 5000 screens but in the south it will face a tough competition from Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life' starring Kamal Haasan which is releasing on June 5. Thus, it may get some lesser screens in the south regions but word of mouth and content will further decide the fate of both these movies.

Housefull 5's unique twist: Different endings in theaters explained

By Aman Shukla Published on May 28, 2025, 12:30 IST The Bollywood comedy franchise Housefull is back with its fifth installment, Housefull 5, set to release on June 6, 2025. This time, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has introduced a groundbreaking concept that's generating buzz across the industry: the film will feature two different endings, with each theater screening a unique version, complete with a different killer and distinct comedic twists. This innovative approach promises to redefine the moviegoing experience, blending the franchise's signature slapstick humor with a thrilling murder mystery. Here's everything you need to know about Housefull 5's dual endings. What Makes Housefull 5's Dual Endings Unique? For the first time in Indian cinema, Housefull 5 will offer audiences two distinct versions of the film, titled Housefull 5 and Housefull 5A . According to producer Sajid Nadiadwala, each version will have a different killer and a completely different climax in the final 20 minutes, ensuring a fresh experience depending on the theater you visit. For example, if you watch the film at Gaiety Galaxy, you'll see one killer, while a screening at a PVR theater might reveal another. This concept, which Nadiadwala has been developing for 30 years, aims to keep audiences guessing and spark conversations long after the credits roll. The dual endings add a layer of intrigue to the film's murder mystery plot, set aboard a luxury cruise. With a star-studded ensemble cast of 19 actors, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nargis Fakhri, the film combines chaotic comedy with suspense. The Star Power Behind Housefull 5 Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 boasts an impressive cast, including returning franchise favorites and new additions. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan lead as the main suspects in the murder mystery, with Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff playing investigators unraveling the chaos. Other notable actors include Nargis Fakhri, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nana Patekar, Johnny Lever, and Chunky Pandey, among others. The film marks significant comebacks for Fardeen Khan, who returns to the big screen after a 12-year hiatus, and Nargis Fakhri, who landed her role after a chance encounter with Nadiadwala. Salman Khan As Army Officer In Next? Director Of War Film Has Worked With Vivek Oberoi In Past

Last Updated: On the professional front, Salman Khan was last seen in the action drama Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss. Salman Khan, last seen in action drama Sikandar, is reportedly set to don the uniform in his next big-screen venture. He will be seen playing an Indian Army officer. Buzz surrounding the film has intensified as sources reveal that the director of the upcoming project is none other than the filmmaker who earlier helmed a war-based drama featuring Vivek Oberoi. Bollywood Hungama has reported that Salman Khan has initiated conversation with Apoorva Lakhia after the film with Atlee got shelved. The portal has quoted a source saying, 'Jordy Patel introduced Salman Khan to Apoorva Lakhia, and that's when the duo jammed over a script. Apoorva had acquired the rights to Novel – India's Most Fearless 3 – a while back and discussed the idea with Salman. He loved the thought of this novel and is contemplating on signing on for the film." The source tells us further, 'Salman is excited by the thought of playing an army officer in a film set against backdrop of Galwan Valley battle of 2020. He is seriously considering this as a follow up to Sikandar and if all goes well, the film will go on floors in 2nd half of 2025." In the same report it was mentioned Salman was offered a film by Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar too, but he choose Apoorva Lakhia's script. 'Salman wanted to work with someone he has not collaborated with before, and hence has the idea of this film. Apart from him in the lead, the film will also feature 4 more talented actors." On the professional front, Salman Khan was last seen in the action drama Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss. The film featured a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Kajal Aggarwal. Despite high expectations, Sikandar struggled to leave a significant impact at the box office. Veteran exhibitor Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Gaiety Galaxy, echoed the disappointment in an interview with journalist Vickey Lalwani. 'I've received feedback from the public, and even Komal Nahta told me, 'What was the need to kill the heroine so early in the film? What complex did you have?'" Desai went on to directly address Salman, 'You don't come across as the real Salman Khan on screen. I know you might be hurt by what I'm saying, but this is the audience talking—I can't lie." After Sikandar failure, is it time for Salman Khan to reinvent himself? Experts respond

For decades, Salman Khan reigned as Bollywood 's undisputed 'King of the Box Office,' delivering back-to-back blockbusters that set new benchmarks in Hindi cinema. Films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan , Sultan, and the Tiger franchise not only earned massive numbers but also solidified his status as a larger-than-life superstar with an army of devoted fans. However, with his latest outing, Sikandar, receiving a lukewarm response, it raises an inevitable question: Is it time for Salman to evolve with the changing dynamics of Indian cinema? Historically, Salman's brand guaranteed packed theaters and record-breaking figures, sometimes soaring beyond Rs 500 crore globally. Yet, despite his enduring popularity, the recent pattern paints a different picture. Sikandar, despite immense pre-release buzz and a robust promotional campaign, failed to resonate with audiences once the first weekend excitement faded. Critics slammed the film for its lack of gripping storytelling, while even loyal fans seemed underwhelmed. This trend isn't new. His previous films, including Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, also fell short of expectations, both critically and commercially. As film critics and trade analysts like Taran Adarsh and Komal Nahta pointed out, while Salman's star power can ignite an initial spark, longevity today demands much more - strong scripts, relatable characters, and stories that strike an emotional chord. Bollywood itself is undergoing a massive transition. Content is no longer an afterthought; it is king. The new-age audience favors narratives that are rooted, compelling, and innovative. Films that rely solely on formulaic action and glamor, without emotional depth, increasingly find it difficult to survive. In this shifting environment, Salman's reliance on time-tested ideas, the invincible hero, over-the-top action, exaggerated romance, feels increasingly out of sync. If Salman wishes to stay relevant and reclaim his box office dominance, he may need to rethink some long-standing beliefs. The formula that once worked wonders now risks becoming a cage. The audience is craving depth, vulnerability, and authentic storytelling. By embracing characters that reflect maturity and emotional complexity, Salman could not only tap into a broader demographic but also showcase a different side of his talent, one that even his fiercest critics would find hard to dismiss. Salman Khan is scared of losing stardom Manoj Desai, Executive Director of G7 Multiplex (Gaiety Galaxy) and Maratha Mandir Cinema, passionately defended Salman's latest efforts when speaking to ETimes. "I always prefer using Maratha Mandir and Gaiety Galaxy to screen Salman Khan movies," he said. "People who thought it would be jittery didn't understand the essence. Honestly, it's the fault of our public. I would like to request everyone, come to theaters with enthusiasm. We are here to support you." Desai emphasized that audiences need to evolve alongside the actor. "Sometimes you get emotion instead of action, and that too is an important attitude. Accept it! Salman made an emotional film, not the usual action-packed one, and audiences should watch it with an open mind." When asked about Salman experimenting with OTT or gray/villainous roles, Desai remained optimistic. "Salman Khan is doing everything the public wants. He should continue choosing strong topics, the public will definitely watch." On comparing Sikandar to Tiger 3, he said, "Tiger 3 was better, it had action and was gripping. Sikandar focused more on emotions, and sadly, the audience is still used to action. Still, Sikandar is a good film, and we must wait and see how the next films are received." On what genre Salman should pursue, Desai said, "He should balance both action and emotion. If he does that, he will surely succeed." However, trade analysts were more direct in their assessments. Komal Nahta didn't mince words. "He doesn't necessarily have to reinvent himself, but he must at least sign better scripts that resonate with audiences," Nahta said. "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Sikandar were built on rotten scripts. Big budgets alone won't help, content is king." He pointed to earlier successful choices like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan, urging Salman to revisit that phase of career decision-making. "He can keep doing what he loves, but the script must be rock solid." Taran Adarsh echoed similar sentiments, analyzing where Sikandar went wrong. "On paper, Sikandar had everything, a top producer in Sajid Nadiadwala, a superstar in Salman Khan, and a proven director like A.R. Murugadoss. Yet it faltered because of poor writing, forgettable music, and a lack of gripping moments. Even Salman didn't seem fully in form." Adarsh, however, believes reinvention doesn't necessarily mean abandoning what made Salman popular. Citing examples like Shah Rukh Khan 's recent successes with Pathaan and Jawan, and Amitabh Bachchan 's timeless evolution, he said, "Salman should take a break for 3-6 months, think carefully, and choose roles that combine action and emotion. His fans are still out there. They haven't abandoned him, they're just waiting for the right film." Interestingly, both critics agreed that the 'brand' Salman Khan is far from finished. In Bollywood, one good film can change everything overnight. As Adarsh put it: "Never write off a 90s superstar." In the end, the ball is firmly in Salman's court. Whether he chooses to recalibrate by blending high-energy entertainment with heartfelt storytelling, or continues with the tried-and-tested formula, will define the next chapter of his illustrious career. One thing remains clear - India's beloved 'Bhaijaan' still has the charisma and fan loyalty to script a spectacular comeback. The only missing piece is the right story.
