Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 launch imminent as live demo units get ready for retail stores, report

With the dust now settled on the Galaxy S25 Edge launch, it's time to turn our attention to Samsung's next generation of high-end smartphones — and if you've been keeping up, you'll know that as we approach the July-August window, it's all about the foldables. This year, Samsung is expected to unveil not just two or three, but — if everything goes according to plan — a total of four foldable smartphones. These include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the heavily rumoured triple-fold device, the Galaxy G Fold. In a recent development, it's been reported that live demo units of three of these foldables entered production on April to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Max Jambor, live demo units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (Q7), Galaxy Z Flip 7 (B7), and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (B7R) — all entered production on April 30. This essentially suggests that these devices are likely to launch simultaneously. Taking into account the Galaxy Z Fold 6's launch timeline from last year, along with the current production status of these upcoming models, it seems highly probable that the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE could debut as early as July. Source: Max Jambor/ X (formerly Twitter) Unfortunately, there's still no concrete information about Samsung's tri-fold phone — the Galaxy G Fold — entering production. However, given Samsung's tendency to surprise, much like the unexpected Galaxy S25 Edge tease during the earlier Galaxy Unpacked event, it wouldn't be far-fetched to imagine the company teasing the tri-fold device alongside the conventional foldables, with a full reveal expected later in the year. Anything's possible at this In terms of expectations, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is poised to be the showstopper. Rumours suggest a lighter chassis, a redesigned hinge for a less prominent crease, and an upgraded triple-camera system led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed by Samsung — at least, not for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it is expected to arrive with a larger cover display — potentially around the 4-inch mark — along with noticeably slimmer bezels, both on the outside and inside. In a significant shift, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be the first in the Galaxy Z series — across both Flip and Fold lines — to adopt an Exynos chipset instead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors. Specifically, the device is tipped to feature the Exynos 2500, Samsung's first smartphone chip built using its own second-generation 3nm manufacturing process. Entirely developed in-house, this new chipset is expected to deliver a substantial boost in both performance and energy there's the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE — Samsung's first-ever Fan Edition foldable. This model is said to closely align with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in terms of core specifications. Reports indicate it will feature the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset found in the Galaxy Z Flip 6, along with 12GB RAM and the same 50-megapixel primary rear camera. Battery capacity is expected to be 4,000mAh, with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. The device has already received 3C certification in China and is expected to sport a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside a 3.4-inch cover screen — both identical to last year's Z Flip 6.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may feature similar specs as Galaxy Z Flip 6, but at an affordable price

In a few months, Samsung will unveil its Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 across the globe. But, this year, it is even more exciting as the company is planning to launch two more foldables: a triple-fold and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. While the triple-fold device is self-explanatory, the Flip 7 FE is a toned-down version of the new clamshell-device. But, a recent leak suggests that it may not be as toned-down as it sounds. The Galaxy Flip 7 FE is expected to feature specs similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. For instance, the Flip 7 FE is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and is expected to debut in a modest price segment. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Leaked specs According to Greek outlet Techmaniacs, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is expected to closely mirror the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The device will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the same as the one powering the Z Flip 6, along with 12GB of RAM. It's also believed to adopt the same camera system, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera—all said to support 4K video recording. This new information contrasts with earlier rumours that suggested it would come with 8GB of RAM and the Z Flip 5's dual 12-megapixel rear cameras. The foldable handset is tipped to include a 4,000mAh battery, offering 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, and has already received 3C certification in China. Display-wise, it is likely to retain the 6.7-inch LTPO 2x AMOLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 3.4-inch external display—identical to the Z Flip 6. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: How much will it cost? A recent report suggests that the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could launch with a price tag below 1,000 euros (approximately Rs 96,000). This places it in a comparable price bracket to the existing Galaxy Z Flip 6 flagship, which begins at 899 euros (around Rs 86,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Based on this price segment, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may still burn a hole in your pocket, but it definitely will be less than what you would be spending on the latest Galaxy Z Flip 7. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Release date (expected) Samsung is preparing to introduce two new clamshell-style foldables this year, though the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is anticipated to debut a few months after the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Based on the company's typical launch timeline, the Z Flip 7 is expected to be officially revealed around July 2025. Rumours indicate that it may sport a large outer display, akin to the one seen on the Motorola Razr+. However, it appears unlikely that Samsung will release both flip phones simultaneously. If this leak is true, then we may witness the triple-foldable phone and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE launch on the same day.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE fresh leak reveals disappointing details

While everyone's attention is focused on Samsung's next foldable flagships, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, one product of the same type might go a bit under the radar, the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, also simply referred to as Galaxy Flip FE. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE was supposed to be an affordable alternative to Samsung's upcoming foldable flagships, but according to a recent leak, this is just a rebranded Galaxy Z Flip 6 . A new report sheds light on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE specs and judging by what's been leaked, it looks like it has the same hardware as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 , a phone that Samsung still sells. To cite the source of the leak, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with 12 GB RAM. Also, the foldable will feature a 6.7-inch internal AMOLED display and an external 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display. It's worth noting that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 uses the same displays. Moving on to the camera, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is said to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, complemented by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The phone also packs a 10-megapixel selfie snapper, just like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 . Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 might have its days numbered | Image credit: PhoneArena Another piece of hardware that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE share in common with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the 4,000 mAh battery, which features 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Unsurprising, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will feature IP48 certification for dust and water resistance. The only major difference is the fact that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will ship with Android 15 right out of the box. That said, the main selling point of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is probably going to be the price. Although we don't have an exact sum, the report claims Samsung will be selling this one for less than €1.000, which will probably make it appealing to a certain category of customers. It remains to be seen what will happen with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 after Samsung introduces the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. As always, we recommend our readers to take these leaks with a grain of salt until more sources confirm the information.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE's newly leaked specs paint a familiar picture

Samsung is rumored to be unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 in early July, and they might be joined by the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (sometimes referred to as just the Flip FE). Today a new leak brings us the Flip7 FE's specs along with its projected pricing. So, the phone is said to come with a 6.7-inch internal folding screen of the LTPO Super AMOLED 2X variety, with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The cover display is identical to that of the Galaxy Z Flip6, measuring 3.4" diagonally. The Flip7 FE is allegedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM. Camera-wise we're getting a 50 MP main shooter and a 12 MP ultrawide, along with a 10 MP selfie snapper. All three cameras will support 4K60 recording. Keeping the lights on will be a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. The phone has an IP48 certification for dust and water resistance. The Flip7 FE will be sold for under €1,000. If all of these specs seem familiar, it's because they are identical to those of the Flip6 released last year. So, if this rumor is accurate, it feels like the Flip7 FE will just be a Flip6 under a different name, which is a baffling strategy on Samsung's part. We have to assume that the Flip6 itself will be discontinued, otherwise with all the offers available for it already it will obviously be the better buy compared to the Flip7 FE, unless you really, really need the extra year of software support that the "new" device will be getting.
