Two people in hospital after serious crash in Co Donegal
The two have been hospitalised in the wake of the two-car crash. Two people have been hospitalised following a two-car collision in Co Donegal this morning. The collision took place on the R246 at Main Street in Kerrykeel shortly after 10.45 am. The driver of one of the cars involved, a man in his 40s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where his condition is understood to be serious. The passenger, a female in her late teens, did not require immediate hospital treatment. The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions remain in place. Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant camera footage, including dash cam, from the area at the time to come forward. Man (20s) arrested following fatal early-morning crash on Dublin's M50
Gardai say one of the occupants of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was fatally injured The woman has been rushed to the Mater Hospital A man has been arrested following a fatal road crash on the M50 in the early hours of this morning. The man, in his 20s, was arrested following the single-vehicle collision involving a car on the N2/M50 Northbound slip road at Junction 5 shortly after 1am. Gardai say one of the occupants of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was fatally injured. Another passenger, a woman in her 30s, was rushed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where she remains in a serious condition. 'A male aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene under the Road Traffic Act and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,' a Garda spokesperson said. A technical examination has since been conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road is expected to reopen shortly. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12.30am and 1.30am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
