Eastleigh confirm sale of Shade to League One Burton Albion
EASTLEIGH have confirmed that star man Tyrese Shade has completed a permanent transfer to League One side Burton Albion for a club-record fee. Shade arrived in SO50 in the summer of 2024 and went on to make 43 appearances for the Spitfires, scoring 14 goals in that time. A successful season saw him claim two accolades at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, winning both Goal of the Season and Players' Player of the Season. The 25 year old has previous experience in League Two, where he made over 100 appearances across spells with Swindon Town and Walsall. "He is someone whose career I have followed closely from his time on loan at Walsall until now. "Ty comes to us on the back of a great season, scoring all types of goals and we know he will excite our fans. He brings pace and power to our front line and we look forward to working with him." A statement from Eastleigh added: "With Tyrese now joining League One side Burton Albion, [[Eastleigh]] Football Club thanks him for his commitment and wishes him every success in the future."

Burton sign forward Shade on two-year deal
Burton Albion have completed the signing of Eastleigh forward Tyrese Shade for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with a club option for a further 12 months. Shade scored 14 goals in 43 appearances in the National League last season. Burton boss Gary Bowyer told the club website: "Ty comes to us on the back of a great season scoring all types of goals and we know he will excite our fans. He brings pace and power to our front line and we look forward to working with him." Shade started his career at Solihull Moors before spending four years at Leicester City, including a loan spell at Walsall, where he failed to break into the first team. He moved to Swindon Town in June 2022, and went on loan to Solihull Moors before joining Eastleigh last summer. The Spitfires said the fee they received for Shade is a club record. Burton open the new League One season at home to Mansfield Town on Saturday, 2 August.

Burton 'have to be competitive in every game'
Burton Albion head coach Gary Bowyer says his side have to see being competitive in every game as their "realistic target" for the new League One season. The Brewers finished just one point above the relegation zone last season, having been nine points from safety in 23rd position when Bowyer arrived in revival was described as a "miracle" but speaking to Radio Derby, Bowyer says the new campaign is going to be another tough one: "Financially we are probably bottom two but budget doesn't always matter," he said. "It's about what you have in your building and what we have here, in terms of spirit and connections, shows we will have a go at it." Asked whether he had been set a target for the new season, the Manchester-born manager said: "I haven't been given a target yet by the club, maybe that will happen before Saturday."In all honesty though our target is to be competitive in every game. We have to focus on what we can control and that is making sure every game is competitive." Burton didn't register their first league win last season until 9 November and have not won their opening game of a campaign since the 2021-22 season. "The plan is to try and change the narrative around how we start," Bowyer said. "It means a lot to me, our fixtures are very competitive in the first month."The 54-year-old signed a contract extension in June through to 2027 after initially being contracted until 2026. Burton recently saw the departure of striker Romarn Burrell to Queens Park Rangers for a fee that BBC Derby Sport understands to be just over £ is hopeful of getting a replacement in. "I certainly hope we can use some of the money, perhaps not all of it," he added."We knew it was potentially going to happen so we have been looking at options. We lost out on one today. That's something you have to just get used to."Burton get their League One season under way on Saturday, 2 August at home against Mansfield Town.
