Leeds United vs AC Milan: Date, time, and ticket prices confirmed for Aviva Stadium friendly
Leeds United will take on Italian giants AC Milan at the Aviva Stadium this summer. Kick-off in Dublin is at 3pm on Saturday, August 9, and the vast majority of the Aviva's 51,700 capacity is expected to be taken up by the strong Irish Leeds fanbase. United will face seven-time European champions AC Milan for the first time in nearly 24 years. Leeds have played three competitive games against the Serie A club, the last of which was in November 2000 in the Champions League. However, arguably the most memorable match was their maiden meeting in the 1973 UEFA European Cup Winners' Cup final, which ended in a 1-0 win for Milan in controversial circumstances. Irish Leeds legend Gary Kelly has welcomed the organising of the fixture, saying: "I have great memories of the last time we played Milan, captaining the side against them in the Champions League. "Obviously as a proud Irishman I am delighted this fixture is coming to Dublin, which I know the locals will welcome, packing out the Aviva Stadium and creating a great atmosphere.' United managing director Robbie Evans added: "We are delighted to head to Dublin to play a prestigious opponent in a world-class venue. We have a fantastic following across Ireland, with many supporters regularly making the commute to Elland Road." Aviva Stadium to host August friendly between Leeds and AC Milan
LEEDS UNITED'S FINAL pre-season friendly before their Premier League return will take place against AC Milan at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on Saturday, 9 August. It will be the first meeting between the sides since the group stages of the 2000/01 Champions League, with AC Milan using the fixture as an international friendly to prepare for Serie A kick-off on the weekend of 23 August. Newly promoted Leeds will be returning to Dublin after nine years, bolstering ties with their significant Irish fanbase. Advertisement Former Leeds and Republic of Ireland right-back Gary Kelly said that the friendly is going to be 'an exciting game' and 'certainly a great test for this Leeds side before their Premier League campaign kicks off'. 'I have great memories of the last time we played Milan, captaining the side against them in the Champions League,' added Drogheda native Kelly, who played 462 times for Leeds and amassed 52 caps for his country. 'Obviously as a proud Irishman, I'm delighted this fixture is coming to Dublin, which I know the locals will welcome, packing out the Aviva stadium and creating a great atmosphere.' Milan, seven-time European champions, last played in Dublin against Shamrock Rovers ahead of their 2020/21 campaign. The Rossoneri's brand ambassador Daniele Massaro said: 'We're thrilled to return to Dublin after all these years and face Leeds once again, this time in a pre-season friendly. I'm sure the Irish fans will enjoy the match, and it will provide an excellent opportunity for both teams to fine-tune ahead of the new season.' The game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday, 9 August. Tickets for the match will be on pre-sale to fans today before going on public sale on Thursday, 29 May, at 10am. AC MILAN HEADS TO IRELAND TO FACE LEEDS UNITED IN SUMMER FIXTURE
AC Milan is pleased to announce a summer friendly against Leeds United, newly promoted to the Premier League. The match will take place on Saturday, 9 August at 3:00 PM (local time) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin - a world-class venue with over 50,000 seats located in the heart of the Irish capital. This fixture is part of the men's First Team's pre-season schedule, following the conclusion of the Pre-Season Tour 2025, which will see the team travel across the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore, Hong Kong and Western Australia) from 20 July to 1 August. Advertisement The match was officially unveiled today at a media event at the Aviva Stadium, attended by AC Milan Brand Ambassador Daniele Massaro and Leeds United legend Gary Kelly, former Republic of Ireland full-back. This fixture marks AC Milan's first match in Ireland in five years. The Rossoneri last played in the country during the 2020/21 season, facing Shamrock Rovers in a UEFA Europa League qualifier. AC Milan and Leeds United have met three times in the past, including in the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League group stage, and most memorably in the 1973 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final in Thessaloniki.
