‘Slow Horses' Season 5 Gets Fall Premiere Date On Apple TV+; First Look Photos Show Nick Mohammed In Guest Role
Slow Horses will return to Apple TV+ for Season 5 this fall. The streamer revealed Tuesday that the fifth installment of the espionage drama will debut with the first two episodes on September 24, followed by one episode weekly until October 22. Luckily, there's already a Season 6 incoming, too, as the series was renewed in October. Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House. Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. In Season 5, everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the London Rules — cover your back — always apply. The cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, James Callis, Tom Brooke, and Jonathan Pryce. Peter Pan actor 'honoured' by award nomination
An actor who found fame portraying a witch on Britain's Got Talent has said he is "blown away" to be nominated in the Best Actor category at the National Film Portlock from Shropshire was shortlisted alongside actors including Gary Oldman, David Tennant and Martin Freeman for his role in the horror movie, Peter Pan's Neverland said it was a "huge thing for an up-and-coming actor"."I don't think I'm going to stand much of a chance" he added, "but it is all through a public vote, so you never know". The award ceremony is due to take place on 2 July and Mr Portlock said even if he did not win, "there may be career opportunities that come from it".His creepy portrayal of a witch on Britain's Got Talent in 2022 was watched on Youtube more than nine million times and helped land him the role in the Peter Pan said he had been working on another movie, Gallowmere, when a make-up artist mentioned his performance on the show to the director of Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, Scott Portlock got the role and he said the horror industry seemed to be taking an interest in him."One day I hope to do something different, but for now its a good path," he Portlock said he really enjoyed fantasy or science fiction roles, but joked: "For some reason I get typecast, maybe it's because I look so pretty." A first look at the upcoming season of Slow Horses sees tech nerd Roddy Ho bag a glamorous new girlfriend - but all isn't as it seems. The spy thriller - based on Mick Herron's novel Slough Horse - hit our screens in 2022 and has gone on to have four successful series. Fans don't have long to wait until the fifth drops, as it is set to premiere on Wednesday 24 September 2025. But autumn is still a long wait for some, and luckily on Tuesday (June 2 2025), Apple TV+ dropped a sneak peek at what is to come. AppleTV+'s official synopsis reads: 'This quick-witted spy drama follows a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents - and their obnoxious boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman). 'As they navigate the espionage world's smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. According to the streaming service's press release, tech nerd Roddy Ho (Christopher) people start to get suspicious of his new lover. But the Slow Horses have to later come together to figure out what is going on after a series of 'bizarre events'. The star-studded cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, James Callis, Tom Brooke, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Ruth Bradley, and Jonathan Pryce. Nick Mohammad will also appear as a special guest star. The first two episodes will drop on Wednesday 24 September 2025. Then fans will have to wait each week for their Slow Horses fix. The first series of Slow Horses premiered in April 2022, which was later followed by a second the same year. In 2023, the third series hit the streaming service, and the latest was released in 2024. In January 2024, Slow Horses was renewed for a fifth season after fans praised the 'brilliant' season three finale. And in October last year it was announced that the hit series will return for a sixth. Apple TV revealed a six-episode sixth season is in the works, and will see the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+, said: 'Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I'm delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure.' The show has a very impressive 98% on the Tomatometer of review site Rotten Tomatoes, as well as 88% on the Popcornmeter. Many have also rushed to IMDB to give their thoughts on the show. One said: 'Gary Oldman is brilliant, just brilliant. I've watched two episodes and I'm hooked. I love the story, the sets and setting, the acting is superb throughout. I will be watching the entire series more than once. It's the sort of Drama the UK was once famous for. A massive thumbs up to all involved.' 'This has gotten better week after week. With HBO's Harry Potter reboot series deep in development and the search for a new cast underway, many fans have wondered if any of the original film actors would pop back in, even for a cameo. Now, Daniel Radcliffe himself has shared which character he'd be most excited to play. In a recent interview with The Movie Dweeb, Radcliffe admitted that while he's definitely not returning for the reboot, there is one role that sparks his interest… Sirius Black. He said: 'A moving portrait? I am trying to think what is like a fun role that is not too many days. I always thought one of the other great characters in the series is Sirius Black. [He] is obviously super cool.' It's a fun bit of casting to imagine, Radcliffe as Harry's mysterious and rebellious godfather, a character once played by Gary Oldman in the original films. But before anyone gets too excited, Radcliffe was quick to shut the idea down. 'But I can tell you, there is no world in which I will actually be playing that character. But I will give you the headline of 'Dan Radcliffe says Sirius Black would be fun to play, but he won't actually be doing it.'' Oldman, who played Sirius in Prisoner of Azkaban , Order of the Phoenix , and Deathly Hallows: Part 2 , also joked in a past interview that the new series will likely cast an entirely fresh ensemble. He said: 'I would bet my money that they will get a whole new cast of people. Maybe in a few years, I could do Dumbledore.' So while the idea of Radcliffe returning to Hogwarts, even in a different role, sounds cool and interesting, it's pretty clear he's happy to pass the wand. Still, it's hard not to imagine how poetic it would be to see the Boy Who Lived come back as the very man who helped guide him through his darkest hours.
