Hajj 2025: Hot to Extremely Hot Weather Expected at Holy Sites
As Wednesday May 28, 2025 marked the first day of Dhu'al-Hijjah, the Hajj season for this year will take place during the first ten days of June 2025. In the light of this, the Saudi National Center of Meteorology (NCM) announced its weather forecast for the Hajj season. In a press conference, the NCM's Chief Executive, Ayman Ghulam, said that the expected weather conditions at the Holy Sites will be hot to extremely hot. According to Ghulam, the maximum temperatures in the Holy Sites during Hajj are forecast to range between 40 and 47 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degree Celsius. Moreover, the humidity levels could reach up to 60%. The Holy Sites are likely to experience northerly to northwesterly winds at speeds ranging from 25 km/h to 35 km/h. These winds may stir up dust and reduce visibility, particularly in open areas and highways, he noted. Additionally, the NCM's Chief Executive pointed to the possibility of thunderclouds formation in the highlands of Taif. Their impact could extend to the Holy Sites from Dhu'al-Hijjah 8-13, bringing strong downwinds that raise dust and dirt. The prolonged exposure to high temperatures could lead to heat exhaustion, which may develop in some conditions to heatstroke. Many pilgrims experience heat exhaustion or heatstroke due to exposure to the sun for a long period of time. To avoid heatstroke, pilgrims are advised to avoid exposure to direct sunlight, apply sunscreen, drink plenty of fluids, and use light-colored umbrellas. Short link :

Aamir Khan fired a struggling Daya Shankar Pandey from Akele Hum Akele Tum as he was overqualified: ‘I thought of him as a villain'
Actor Daya Shankar Pandey, known for his work in iconic films and TV shows like Lagaan, Gangaajal, and Swades, recently recalled his experience of working with Aamir Khan. Daya, who collaborated with Aamir on films such as Lagaan and Ghulam, shared an anecdote from their early days. He revealed that Aamir once removed him from the film Akele Hum Akele Tum, believing he was overqualified for the role. At the time, the decision left Daya distressed, especially as he was going through a financial crisis. Speaking on the YouTube channel Friday Talkies, Daya recalled, 'I didn't have work. I was facing financial crisis. My family had refused to support me and I also thought I would earn my own money. I had asked the assistant director (AD) of the film Akele Hum Akele Tum to give me any role possible and so he got me 12 day work in that film and I was getting Rs 2000 per day.' Daya Shankar Pandey shared that Aamir Khan knew him from earlier as they had worked together in the 1995 film Baazi, and he also knew that Aamir regarded him as a good actor. However, Aamir's positive opinion of Daya ended up costing him the role in Akele Hum Akele Tum. He explained. 'I would try and avoid Aamir sir so that he doesn't see me but one day he saw me and called me and asked what I am doing there. When I told that I am playing a junior artist's role, he told Mansoor Khan and the AD, 'He is a very good actor. Don't waste him.' I didn't want to hear this appreciation because I wanted to earn my per day and leave. I thought of Aamir Khan as a villain at that time. They did my pack-up.' Though Aamir didn't allow Daya to continue playing the junior artist's role in Akele Hum Akele Tum, he later made up for it by casting him in Lagaan and also recommending him for a pivotal role in Ghulam. The actor further recalled how Aamir personally called him to meet director Mahesh Bhatt and Ghulam's writer Anjum Rajabali. However, even with the superstar's backing, Daya still faced rejection. Sharing the experience, he said, 'Anjum and Mahesh kept rejecting me for roles in the film, saying that I am too thin and all. I got very insecure because Aamir Khan is recommending me but the writer is rejecting. What kind of bad luck is this.' However, Days revealed that eventually Aamir managed to convince them, and he was cast in the role.

Madhuri Dixit's husband Dr Nene rolls his eyes as Rani Mukerji sucks snake venom in Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat: ‘This scene is pure…'
Rani Mukerji, who gained recognition for her roles in films like Ghulam (1998) and Saathiya (2002), started off her Bollywood career with the film Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat. In the film, she plays a survivor of sexual assault who marries her attacker as per the court's order. Aside from the film's problematic depiction of domestic violence, it also included a scene in which Rani's character sucks snake venom out of her husband to save his life. They fall in love. The movie was criticised for its plot, and is now the source of memes. One such scene from the film was recently viewed by Madhuri Dixit's husband Dr Sriram Nene, who couldn't help but roll his eyes. In his latest YouTube video, Dr Nene was seen reviewing a couple of medical memes, sharing what's real and what's dangerous about them. Among the many memes that he watched, Rani Mukerji's snake venom scene from Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat stood out. Watching it, Dr Nene rolled his eyes and said, 'I don't know the context of this but I think what we are looking at is the old wives tell that if a snake bites you, you suck out the venom and the patient does fine.' ALSO READ | Moushumi Chatterjee recalls being thrown out of Amitabh Bachchan film, says she's 'a better person' than Jaya Bachchan Dismissing such misconceptions, Dr Nene clarified, 'Listen, by the time you start to exhibit neurologic effects and other effects, he's already got a systematic dose of the venom. So, I don't know that this is going to change anything. What you can do, though, if you are at the scene, is you can put a tourniquet on and then get the patient to help where they can give them an antivenom.' He then recalled the time when his own family once kept mongoose and dogs to protect them from snakes as it was a common affair back then. 'In many parts of India… remember India is not one India. It is 30% metro, 70% rural. And in the rural areas like Konkan where my family was from two generations ago, they did have cobras and other snakes and they didn't always have antivenoms readily available. People did die of these bites. They would keep mongoose and dogs to to kind of protect you.' Getting back to the film's scene, Dr Nene said, 'This scene is pure cinema for the most part. Not sure that it's realistic and wouldn't give you the best results. But I have seen it before in western films as well as eastern films so not a big surprise, just that it doesn't work.'

Reddit feels Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par remake is a frame-by-frame copy of Campeones trailer: ‘Another remake after Laal Singh Chaddha'
Aamir Khan Productions unveiled the trailer of RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par on Tuesday evening. While it's a spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's 2007 directorial debut Taare Zameen Par, the lesser known fact is that it's an official remake of Javier Fesser's 2018 Spanish film Campeones. A Redditor compared the trailers of both the films, and pointed out striking similarities. These include Aamir's character of the coach drinking while driving and bumping his car into a police van in the middle of the road, just like Javier Gutierrez's character in the original. Both are then penalized by the court to train a bunch of mentally challenged kids for a basketball tournament. Other similarities include the coach's character throwing the basketball straight into the face of one of the kids, as the others shield their faces in the next shot. The bouncing boards of the protagonist are the same too — his friend and his mother — but his wife (played by Genelia D'Souza in Sitaare Zameen Par) — doesn't feature in the trailer of the Spanish original. Looks like SZP is a frame-by-frame copy of the Spanish hit Campeones(2023). byu/Chai_Lijiye inBollyBlindsNGossip 'After the Forest Gump fiasco, he should have stayed away from remakes or adaptations,' commented another Redditor, referring to Aamir's last film, Advait Chandan's Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), the official Hindi remake of Robert Zemeckis' 1994 cult film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks. Laal Singh Chaddha didn't work at the box office. 'Perfectionist in copying the film frame by frame,' claimed a Redditor, while another one pointed out, 'Look at his filmography again. He has remade the godfather, kramer vs kramer, on the waterfront, forrest gump. A lot of them have scenes lifted frame by frame. I still love Ghulam, akele hum etc. The point is he's had a lot of practice,' referring to Aamir's films Aatank Hi Aatank (1995), Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), Ghulam (1998), and Laal Singh Chaddha respectively. However, several others also defended Aamir. 'Official remake hai bhai toh of course usme konsi nayi baat hai (If it's an official remake, then what's the harm?),' wrote a Redditor. 'You're acting like people in India have all seen Champions and it's a massive hit here. No one gives a shit if it's a remake as no one has seen the original, all that matters is if it's a good film,' argued another. Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par, which will launch 10 newcomers as the mentally challenged kids, also stars Dolly Ahluwalia as Aamir's mother. Sitaare Zameen Par is slated to release in cinemas on June 20.
