Roma keen on Jonathan Rowe

Roma continues to work on the transfer market to find new offensive reinforcements. After the arrivals of El Aynaoui, Ferguson, Wesley, and the imminent arrival of Ghilardi, the Giallorossi club shows no signs of slowing down. Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly requested a further alternative in attack, specifically a second striker to partner Paulo Dybala, Matías Soulé, and Tommaso Baldanzi. According to the latest name on Frederic Massara's list is Jonathan Rowe, a young attacking winger born in 2003 currently playing for Marseille. The Englishman, coming off a season with three goals and three assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances, has also made an impact at international level, contributing a goal to England's victory at the Under-21 European Championship. Marseille values Rowe at around €20 million. Premier League clubs such as Leeds and Bournemouth are also interested in the left-back, as well as Atalanta, who could become interested if Lookman's transfer were to materialize.

Watch: Evan Ferguson scores again for Roma against Kaiserslautern

Evan Ferguson has maintained his bright start to life in Roma with the only goal in Roma's friendly win over Kaiserslautern on Saturday. The on-loan Brighton man scored four times this week in a training game win over Serie D minnows UniPomezia. Even on such a low-key stage, it was a boost for the Republic of Ireland frontman after a barren spell in front of goal for the Seagulls. He had netted just once for the club since November 2023, after a period marred by injury and loss of form as well as an unsuccessful loan to West Ham. Rome isn't built in a day but the 20-year-old continued to impress his new fans and new Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini with the only goal in Germany. Ferguson profited from a mistake by goalkeeper Julian Krahl, but it was the youngster's lively pressing that forced the gaffe, allowing him to roll the ball home from close range.

Ferguson decisive again with Roma winner in Kaiserslautern

Evan Ferguson scored his fifth goal in just two games for Roma, securing their 1-0 pre-season friendly victory away to Kaiserslautern. The hosts were caught napping after a dismal back-pass that the goalkeeper struggled to control, so Ferguson pounced and deposited it into an empty net to open the scoring. It was four on his debut in mid-week, and Evan Ferguson has scored again today! 🐺🐺 He's quick to put pressure on the goalkeeper and gets rewarded with one of the simplest goals he'll ever score 👏 — Premier Sports (@PremSportsTV) July 26, 2025 It confirmed a remarkably good start to life in the Giallorossi jersey for the Irish striker, who bagged four goals on his debut. Gian Piero Gasperini is the new Roma coach Matias Soule's curling free kick was palmed out of the near top corner, while Niccolò Pisilli scuffed a finish straight at the goalkeeper set up by Devyne Rensch. The first genuine Kaiserslautern opportunity wasn't until the hour mark with a header wide from Hanslik. Ebrima Darboe came on as a substitute and within 40 seconds had smashed his shot onto the outside of the upright. Evan Ferguson scores fifth goal in two games for Roma to set up friendly win over Kaiserslautern

The Irish striker hit the ground running with his new club by scoring four times in a training ground success over Serie D opposition earlier this week. There was a dramatic contrast on Saturday afternoon as the 20-year-old was in a packed stadium, leading the line for Gian Piero Gasperini's side against a side that is currently in the German second tier. He made the most of the opportunity by capitalising on a first half goalkeeping error by Julian Krahl to win possession and slot the ball into the empty net. Ferguson was replaced after an hour. His next game will be against Cannes on Thursday.
