England stars enjoy day at F1 Spanish Grand Prix as Thomas Tuchel takes squad on team-bonding trip

THOMAS TUCHEL has taken his England stars to a team bonding session at the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix The Three Lions manager, the players and backroom staff arrived in Barcelona on Sunday morning before heading straight to the F1. 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 The vast majority of the 26-man squad have not been to the F1 before, and after the race, they will go to nearby Girona for a training camp. As they arrived many of the stars were seen posing for pictures with fans. Most stars wore shades and loose-fitting shirts for the occasion, although Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer seemed to still be too cold in the Spanish sun as he took the paddock wearing a jumper. Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly joined their team-mate with zipper jackets, though the teenager later removed it. Meanwhile, Tuchel was all-smiles seen as he was pictured at the track wearing a cap. The squad posed for a picture alongside F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali as he welcomed the footballers into the mad world of motorsport. Many of them were also invited into team garage's before the race. Skipper Harry Kane was among the stars seen being given a tour of Red Bull's garage as he posed for snaps alongside team mechanics, while the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Dan Burn and Ollie Watkins posed for a picture next to the car. Chelsea's Conference League winning trio Reece James, Noni Madueke and Trevoh Chalobah were seen at the Mercedes garage, while James was also part of a group including Jude Bellingham and Eberechi Eze who took in some hospitality with McLaren. The Papaya constructor later shared a post of Kane taking a selfie with their car, which they no doubt hope will give them some more good luck after drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris scored P1 and P2 in Saturday qualifying. Fernando Alonso overheard taking sarcastic swipe at old rival Lewis Hamilton after blunder ahead of Spanish Grand Prix England will remain in Girona until next Saturday when they return to Espanyol 's ground in Barcelona for a World Cup qualifier against Andorra. Tuchel, who has handed a first senior call-up to Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah, decided to avoid St George Park's next week and instead, spend the whole time in Spain. This is to get used to the heat ahead of next year's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The temperature in Barcelona and Girona is expected to be around 26C, although that is still not as warm as many of the World Cup host cities at this time of year. Next weekend's game was supposed to be in Andorra but the tiny nation's new stadium is not yet ready. After the match, new boss Tuchel and the squad will fly to the midlands to prepare for a friendly with Senegal at Villa Park in Birmingham on June 10. Under Tuchel, England won their first two qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.

Ex-Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski's Girona nightmare could be OVER

THE striker could be on the move again, only a year after he left Scotland ABERDEEN let North Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski leave the north-east for a club record fee last year. The talisman left Scotland for Champions League football with Girona, after the Dons did everything they could to hold on to their star man. 2 Bojan Miovski's Girona career hasn't went as planned so far 2 He left Aberdeen for the Catalan side for a fee of around £6million, Aberdeen's record departure Credit: SNS He earned his move after a stellar spell with Aberdeen, scoring 44 goals in 98 matches, but he had big shoes to fill on the continent. Ukranian forward Artem Dovbyk left Girona for Roma that summer and the former Dons man was brought in to replace the prolific forward. Miovski has not lived up to the high expectations that were set for his move in his debut year though. He has only netted a mere four times for Girona, two of which came against fifth tier side, CD Extremadura, and set up two goals in 25 matches. In the last 10 La Liga matches of the season, the striker only managed 20 minutes of football as his side battled for survival, which has left his future well and truly up in the air. According to AS, Girona chiefs are set for some tough talks in the off-season, with Miovski not excluded from the list. He is under contract until 2028, meaning it won't be easy to find the 25-year-old a new suitor. His transfer value has dropped significantly after his poor season, with the forward now valued at £2.5million, according to Transfermarkt, over £3million less than what he left Aberdeen for. Both Celtic and Rangers were said to be interested when the striker was on Aberdeen's books. Birmingham City were among other clubs outside of the old-firm pair who tried for his signature, before he penned with the Catalan side. Aberdeen's Scottish Cup-winning heroes greeted by thousands on open top bus parade through the city after beating Celtic Girona avoided relegation by just ONE point this season, dropping off from the heights of Champions League the season before. A huge rebuild could be on the cards for the club as they try and climb back up the table next year, and Miovski could very well be one of the players moved on. Bojan Miovski tees up SPFL return chance as Aberdeen hero 'up for sale' after Girona nightmare

The striker's debut season for the Catalan club in La Liga hasn't quite gone to plan Girona are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Bojan Miovski this summer – less than 12 months on from his big money move from Aberdeen. The North Macedonia international's 44 goals in two seasons at Pittodrie saw the La Liga side fork out £6.8million to bring him to Catalonia, with the Dons receiving a club record fee for the frontman. ‌ However, Miovski has endured something of a nightmare season in Spain. The 25-year-old managed just four foals in 25 appearances in all competitions, with two of those coming against sixth division minnows CD Extremadura in the Copa del Rey. ‌ The ex MTK Budapest attacker played just 20 minutes in his team's final 10 league games of the season after falling down the pecking order under head coach Michel. Girona had shocked Europe by qualifying for the Champions League with a third place finish in the 2023/24 campaign, with Ukrainian star Artem Dovbyk's 24 league strikes winning him a £32milion switch to Roma in Serie A. But their disappointing season saw them slump to 16th in the league standings, just a single point ahead of relegated Leganes - who include Miovski's former Aberdeen teammate Luis Duk Lopes amongst their ranks. ‌ And according to AS, Miovski's tough stint in Spain could soon be brought to an end. Miovski is under contract with the Catalan club until June 2028 but they add that that the Pittodrie hero's future is completely up in the air. The report also states that boss Michel and Girona Quique Carcel plan to hold crunch talks with Miovski and other players on the fringes of the squad ahead of the new season. ‌ Prior to his move to Girona, Miovski had tentatively been linked with several clubs around Europe including Celtic and had previously seen a bid from English Championship side Southampton knocked back by Aberdeen. Despite his lack of minutes at club level, the striker reminded everyone of what he can do in front of goal by scoring in both games of his country's World Cup qualifying double header against Liechtenstein and Wales back in March. Girona captain reveals Barcelona try to sign him in 2019 – ‘I did not sleep that night'

Girona captain reveals Barcelona try to sign him in 2019 – 'I did not sleep that night' Girona captain Cristhian Stuani has opened up about a dramatic chapter in his career when he was almost on the verge of joining Barcelona in 2019. The Uruguayan striker, now 38, confirmed in a recent interview that there was genuine interest from the Catalan giants in the summer of 2019. Advertisement 'There was one night I didn't sleep. Things were really heated,' Stuani said, recalling how close the move felt as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. But despite the buzz, he made it clear that a formal offer never actually reached Girona. 'I didn't have to choose because a concrete offer never came to the club,' he added. From missed move to Girona legend Soon after the 2018–19 season, Stuani was one of the hottest strikers in La Liga. With 20 goals in 34 matches, he was naturally on the radar of some of Spain's top clubs. Barcelona attempted to sign Cristhian Stuani in 2019. (Photo by) Barcelona were actively seeking a forward and eventually turned their focus to Antoine Griezmann, who joined later that year. Advertisement While Barcelona moved on, Stuani stayed put. Even as Girona dropped to the second division for three seasons, he remained loyal, something rare in modern football. That decision paid off, both for him and the club. He has now become a symbol of Girona's rise, making 289 appearances and scoring an impressive 141 goals across eight seasons. Although the dream move to Barça never materialised, Stuani's legacy at Girona is secure. He might not have worn the Blaugrana shirt, but he earned something arguably more meaningful, undying respect from the Girona faithful. His story is a reminder that not all football legends wear the biggest badges.
