Felicity Huffman Reacts To Kerry Washington's ‘Desperate Housewives' Spinoff
Kerry Washington's pending spinoff of the acclaimed Desperate Housewives television series has support from one of the show's leading cast members. Felicity Huffman, who starred in the series as Lynette Scavo, earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and nominations for three Golden Globe Awards for her portrayal. 'Isn't that great? They're gonna do Wisteria Lane with women of color, and I am all for it,' Huffman said Wednesday on Good Morning America. 'I just think it's wonderful, and I'm a huge fan of Kerry's.' She continued to detail when asked who she thinks could fill Scavo's shoes, 'Oh my god, I have no idea. I think a lot of people could do it better than I did, so I can't wait to see it.' Earlier this month, Washington confirmed that her production company, Simpson Street, is reimagining the Desperate Housewives mystery as Wisteria Lane through Onyx Collective after Deadline exclusively reported the news. Sources informed the outlet that there are no current plans for characters from the original series to appear on Wisteria Lane. 'I can't say too much — it's very newly announced, it's in development,' detailed the actress at the time, 'The idea is that it's new times, there's new challenges, it's like — what happens on that cul-de-sac now? It's really exciting.' According to Deadline, Wisteria Lane was written by Natalie Chaidez, and is described as a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of Desperate Housewives, set among a group of five very different friends — and sometimes frenemies — who all live on a picture-perfect cul-de-sac. The original series was created by Marc Cherry and aired for eight seasons on ABC from October 2004 until May 2012. Zendaya's engagement ring designer opens up about her inspiration
Zendaya kept it casual when debuting her engagement ring at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year, despite nearly breaking the internet over her 5.02-carat diamond. But it turns out, that was exactly the attitude that the jeweler behind the piece wanted. "My whole idea is of relaxed ease and fitting into your daily life,' the ring's designer, Jessica McCormack, told the New York Times in a recent interview. 'It's about functionality and fantasy, making jewels that are fun and cool but wearable and that just make you incredibly happy every time you look in the mirror.' McCormack's designs have become a go-to for those with similar sensibilities, who are looking to show off their diamonds on a more day-to-day basis. In addition to creating the cushion cut diamond for the Oakland native, her other celebrity clients include Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Zoë Kravitz, Margot Robbie and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. 'There's no joy if you can't see them and others can't enjoy them on you,' McCormack told the Times. Though she had no formal design training, the New Zealand-born artist has a long history of working with fine jewels and vintage pieces. She said she learned from her father, an art and antiques dealer, and found her work in Sotheby's fine jewelry department in London to be a strong foundation for her career. The designer launched her brand in 2008, drawing inspiration from the antique pieces she had come to know and love. Since 2013, she has been operating out of a storefront and workshop in London, where Zendaya and her fiancé, British actor Tom Holland, purchased a home in 2022. McCormack opened her first U.S. store in New York City on Tuesday, May 27. Holland and Zendaya met on the set of 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' in 2017, and went public with their relationship in 2021. Neither has spoken about their engagement since Zendaya debuted the ring in January, though Holland's father confirmed it on his Patreon account. Zendaya has continued to drop subtle nods to her relationship with her 'Spider-Man' co-star, from showing off her tiny 't' tattoo in honor of him during a recent Louis Vuitton photoshoot to channeling her inner bride with a Bianca Jagger-inspired Met Gala outfit. But the 'Euphoria' actor's stylist, Law Roach, confirmed that the wedding is still 'far away' due to the couple's busy schedules. Both actors are set to star in Christopher Nolan's mythic action film, 'The Odyssey,' set for release July 17, 2026. They're also slated to return to the Spiderverse in Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' due out July 31, 2026. Meanwhile, Zendaya has been back on the set of Season 3 of the HBO drama ' Euphoria,' which was heavily delayed before production resumed this year.

Jennifer Lopez Sued For Posting A Picture Of Herself
Jennifer Lopez has landed in legal trouble over social media content. The pop star and actress is being sued for allegedly posting paparazzi photos of herself without securing the proper copyright licenses. The dispute centers around images taken before the 2025 Golden Globe Awards and shared on her Instagram and X accounts. On Saturday, May 17, photographer Edwin Blanco and photo agency BackGrid USA filed two federal lawsuits against Jennifer Lopez. They claim to co-own images of Lopez standing outside the Amazon MGM Studios x Vanity Fair Party at Los Angeles' Bar Marmont on January 4, the night before the Golden Globe Awards. According to attorney Peter Perkowski, representing Blanco and BackGrid, Lopez posted the pictures the following day, on January 5, to both Instagram and X without permission. The alleged copyright breach triggered a wave of reposts by fan pages and fashion brands. 'Ms. Lopez's unauthorized use of the Images is commercial in nature, intended for the purpose of self-promotion,' wrote Perkowski per Billboard. 'For example, Ms. Lopez used the images to spotlight the designer of her clothing and jewelry, leveraging the publicity from the event to promote her fashion affiliations and brand partnerships.' Perkowski revealed that BackGrid and Blanco reached out to Lopez's team the week after the alleged infringement to address the situation. Discussions reportedly went well, and the parties verbally agreed to a financial settlement. However, Lopez's side never finalized the deal in writing or made any payment. The lawsuits also emphasized that this isn't the first time Lopez has faced similar claims. In 2019, she was sued for posting a paparazzi photo featuring herself and then-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. That case, also handled by Perkowski, ended in a voluntary dismissal in 2020. 'This prior litigation placed Ms. Lopez on notice regarding the legal requirements and potential consequences associated with the use of copyrighted images without proper authorization,' Perkowski wrote. 'Despite this, Ms. Lopez has continued to engage in similar conduct, demonstrating a willful disregard for BackGrid's copyrights through a pattern of behavior that undermines the rights of content creators.' The plaintiffs accused Jennifer Lopez of willful copyright infringement, which could result in damages of up to $150,000 per image. If the lawsuit succeeds, the actress would have to pay $300,000 for posting her own image. As of Monday, Lopez's representatives had not responded to the lawsuit. Fans may find it odd that celebrities are sued over their photos, but the law is on the plaintiff's side. Stars like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Dua Lipa have all faced similar lawsuits in recent years. Under U.S. copyright law, the photographer, not the person in the photo, owns the rights to an image. This means celebrities can be sued for posting paparazzi photos of themselves on social media without permission. Even if the celebrities are the sole subject of the photo, they have no legal right to use it without a license. Hence, taking or posting such images without consent is considered copyright infringement. Additionally, being in a public place does not exempt someone from being photographed, nor gives them control over the image. If infringement is proven, the celebrity may owe either actual or statutory damages, up to $150,000 per photo. Most cases, however, settle out of court for smaller amounts. The legal trouble is the latest setback for Lopez, who suffered a facial injury while rehearsing for the American Music Awards. The singer shared updates on Instagram Stories, showing herself with an ice pack on a swollen, reddened eye and nose, writing, 'So this happened.' In a follow-up post, the now-single Lopez revealed a visible gash above the bridge of her nose, slightly to the side, noting that the injury occurred a week earlier and she's now healing well. 'A week later and a whole lotta ice—I'm good as new,' she wrote. The 55-year-old also posted a photo with Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, thanking him for his help. 'Thank you for stitching me up, Dr. Diamond,' she captioned the image. Though some discoloration remained, Lopez looked nearly recovered. The incident came just ahead of her scheduled hosting gig at the AMAs on May 26, but she appears ready to go.
