Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 12 - Andrew Bogut (2012-16)
Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 12 - Andrew Bogut (2012-16) The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 23rd of 28 players who wore the No. 12 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State big man alum Andrew Bogut. After ending his college career at Utah, Bogut was picked up with the first overall selection of the 2005 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Melbourne, Australia native would play the first seven seasons of his pro career with the Bucks, ending when he was dealt to the Dubs in 2012. His stay with the team would span five seasons, coming to an end when he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2016. During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Bogut wore only jersey No. 12 and put up 6.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.

Warriors Could Lose Crucial Star Due to Clashing Roster Plans
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Golden State Warriors may not have had a prayer against the mighty Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, but it certainly seems feasible that they could have given the Minnesota Timberwolves a real series if All-Stars Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler hadn't been hurt. Curry strained his hamstring in Game 1 of the team's second round series against Minnesota and missed the final four contests of the series. Butler, meanwhile, had been grappling with a deep glute contusion since the first round, and appeared to lack a lot of the burst that makes him such a special two-way talent. So the Warriors' 2025 playoff run ended in the semifinals. More Golden State Warriors News: Warriors' Draymond Green Reacts to Steve Kerr's Honest Statement Now, Golden State could be losing a key star due to different perspectives on roster needs. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, fourth-year Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga is angling to leverage his restricted free agency this summer to either carve out more minutes and responsibilities in Golden State or elsewhere. INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - FEBRUARY 08: Brandin Podziemski #2 and Jonathan Kuminga #00 of the Golden State Warriors walks across the court in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on February 08,... INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - FEBRUARY 08: Brandin Podziemski #2 and Jonathan Kuminga #00 of the Golden State Warriors walks across the court in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on February 08, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Podziemski was told he wouldn't be traded for any star players this offseason. More Photo byThe Warriors, meanwhile, would prefer to harness him as a downhill scorer and athletic defender, while de-emphasizing his time with the ball. "The cleanest path is finding a sign-and-trade scenario that delivers the Warriors veterans who fit the unique Steve Kerr system built around Curry, Green and now Butler — three unique and proven winners," Slater writes. More Golden State Warriors News: Steve Kerr Reveals Uncomfortable Truth About Warriors Star Kuminga, still just 22, proved to be a frustrating contributor. A score-first forward with intriguing athleticism, he seemed to thrive most when with the ball in his hands — a reality that can't come to fruition much on a team with proud vets like Curry, Butler and Draymond Green. Still, Kuminga showed plenty of promise when he did get more of an opportunity for Golden State after Curry had gone down. More Golden State Warriors News: Warriors Being Heavily Linked to Celtics Star The 6-foot-8 pro averaged 24.3 points on 54.8 percent shooting from the floor (38.9 percent from deep) across the final four games of the Timberwolves series, all losses. His ability to attack the rim remains massively enticing. Still, it may make sense for the Warriors to fully move on from their original "two timelines" plan — an era wherein Golden State drafted three lottery players from 2020-21, none of whom became major contributors to the club's 2022 championship — and embrace the now. Curry is 37, Butler turns 36 before the start of the season, and Green is 35. Health issues have already hampered their time together in the playoffs once. It's time for the Warriors to bring in a supporting cast tailored to the old guys. Klay Thompson mourns loss of beloved bulldog Rocco
Former Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is mourning the death of his longtime companion and English bulldog, Rocco, who passed away over the weekend at the age of 13. The news was shared by the Thompson's father, former NBA player and broadcaster Mychal Thompson, during an appearance on ESPN Los Angeles' 'Mason & Ireland' radio show on Wednesday. 'As Mase and Ireland always say, when someone dear has departed, 'Hail fellow well met,'' Mychal said. 'We had to put Rocco, Klay's dog, down over the weekend.' Thompson added that 'it was time,' noting the dog had lived a full life. 'We were all sad, but Rocco had a great, long life,' he said. 'So today's game is dedicated to the memory of our service men and women, and to Rocco.' Rocco became something of a celebrity in his own right as Thompson ascended to NBA superstardom. Adopted during Klay's rookie year, the bulldog was frequently featured in social media posts and interviews. Though Rocco hadn't appeared in the spotlight recently, his presence remained significant to Thompson, who has referred to him affectionately as his 'son.' Rocco's Instagram page amassed over 61,000 followers. Thompson, 35, completed his first season with the Dallas Mavericks this year after 13 seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Former Laker criticizes Anthony Edwards after Minnesota's playoff loss
After the Minnesota Timberwolves got past the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs in five games, some started to believe they could make a magical run deep into the postseason. The team pushed aside the Golden State Warriors, who were without Stephen Curry for most of the second round, and reached the Western Conference finals for the second year in a row. But once there, they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games, and it wasn't even that close. Advertisement Some are criticizing budding superstar Anthony Edwards for not playing up to his standards on a consistent basis. After his Timberwolves were eliminated, Edwards didn't express any real pain and even said that the situation is "exciting" because of how young he is. The implication he gave is that he will get plenty more chances to reach the NBA Finals and win a world championship. But nothing is guaranteed, no matter how great or young one is. That's the message former Lakers guard Lou Williams had for Edwards during an appearance on "Run it Back." "I love the attitude but Ant just slightly missed the mark," Williams said. "I've been to the Eastern Conference Finals once in 17 years. That is something you don't want to take for granted. Those opportunities come few and in between." Edwards has put up some monster games in the playoffs over the last two years. But as supremely gifted as he is, he's a little too inconsistent at this point in his career. He still has room for improvement as far as being consistently effective, as well as overcoming some defensive strategies. Advertisement While the Timberwolves are a good team, they aren't exactly a juggernaut. The Lakers and Golden State Warriors could be championship-caliber again next season, and a team such as the Houston Rockets, which finished second in the West, could end up landing Kevin Durant this summer. No one can safely predict right now when Edwards will be playing for a spot in the NBA Finals again.
