PSG let door open for Gonçalo Ramos' exit
Champions League winners PSG would be ready to listen to offers for Portuguese international centre-forward Gonçalo Ramos (24), according to a report from . Ramos joined the French capital from formative club SL Benfica in a €65m move two years ago, on the back of Ramos' impressive cameos during the 2022 World Cup. Ramos' two seasons at PSG have been blighted by several spells on the sidelines. Besides, Ramos doesn't quite fit the profile that Luis Enrique expects from a center-forward. Still, Ramos managed to accrue a commendable return of 33 goals in 86 appearances for PSG. But his future with Les Parisiens is not guaranteed. PSG's technical staff lauds Ramos' day-to-day behaviour and the centre-forward is an appreciated member of the squad. Besides, Ramos has accepted he was a second-choice striker given Ousmane Dembélé's astonishing season. Les Parisiens have no intention of letting Ramos leave on a cheap, but they convey the idea that a deal could be done if an interesting bid finds its way to the negotiating table. Luis Enrique eyes more history for PSG after reaching Club World Cup final
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique savoured his team's performance in blowing away Real Madrid on Wednesday to reach the Club World Cup final and urged them to go on and cap a historic season by claiming yet another trophy. Two goals from Fabian Ruiz either side of an Ousmane Dembele strike, as well as a late effort from substitute Goncalo Ramos, gave PSG an emphatic 4-0 semifinal victory at MetLife Stadium against a Madrid team who have just started working under new coach Xabi Alonso. "It is a beautiful victory and we are happy to be in the final," said Luis Enrique. PSG came into the Club World Cup at the end of a campaign in which they won Ligue 1 and the French Cup before thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in the final to win the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history. Victory against Chelsea in Sunday's final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey would mean PSG winning every competition in which they have taken part this season. "That is the objective we have had since the beginning but it is always very difficult to achieve these things -- very few teams can do what we are trying to do," said the 55-year-old. "We are one game away from making history for Paris and for a French club by winning every competition we have taken part in. That means a lot for us and for our fans." PSG have been outstanding in 2025 and are such a well-oiled machine under Luis Enrique that they appear unstoppable, while Alonso only took over from Carlo Ancelotti as Real coach prior to the tournament in the United States. "It is a new set-up for them. He has only just come in while we have been working together for two years, so this is normal," said Luis Enrique, appointed as PSG coach in July 2023, of his compatriot. "He needs time to get a pre-season in to work with his team. He can't be judged. The two situations cannot be compared." Meanwhile the Spaniard said Dembele had again shown he was a serious candidate to win the Ballon d'Or after the France forward played a starring role in PSG's victory. Dembele was starting for the first time at the Club World Cup having come into the tournament with an injury suffered playing for France last month. His goal to make it 2-0 was his 35th for PSG in 52 games in all competitions since last August. "For me, when it comes to the Ballon d'Or, I must say that the players who can win it have to not just score goals and set up goals but help their team to win trophies.

Red-hot PSG stun Real Madrid 4-0 to setup FIFA Club World Cup final showdown against Chelsea
Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz fired a brace while Ousmane Dembele and Goncalo Ramos collected a goal each as the European champions outplayed the Spanish giants at the MetLife Stadium outside New York. read more Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Ramos celebrates after scoring his team's fourth goal in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Real Madrid at the Metlife Stadium near New York. Reuters Fabian Ruiz scored twice as European champions Paris Saint-Germain turned on the style in their reunion with Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday, thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup to set up a final showdown with Chelsea. Ruiz and Ousmane Dembele scored inside nine minutes to stun Real and silence the majority of the 77,542 crowd who were wearing white at the MetLife Stadium outside New York. The Spanish midfielder added another before half-time and Goncalo Ramos got a late fourth as Luis Enrique's side moved one game away from glory at FIFA's new tournament. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Victory against Chelsea on Sunday would complete a campaign of unparalleled success for the Parisians, who won the French title and then the first UEFA Champions League in their history in May. More from Football 'We are in a special season, a special moment, and we deserved to win,' Luis Enrique told broadcaster DAZN before looking ahead to the final. 'We are going to try, one more step against a good team like Chelsea. They did great, they performed the whole competition and now it is time for us to prepare for that… we want to make history in our club, and then take some holidays.' After blowing away Inter Milan 5-0, the biggest victory in European Cup final history, PSG began their Club World Cup bid by putting four past Atletico Madrid and the ease with which they disposed of Real was striking. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD PSG's fluidity contrasted starkly with Madrid, who are a work in progress under new coach Xabi Alonso. 'We were not good enough today,' said Alonso. 'We are not the first ones to lose to them but we have a lot of different things to improve.' Mbappe struggled to make any impact on his first start at the tournament and in his first game against PSG since leaving the French club last year. The defeat is a real blow to Real as they hoped to win the first 32-team Club World Cup to add to their record tally of 15 European Cups. PSG were without imposing centre-back Willian Pacho due to suspension following his sending-off against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, but that did not matter. Lucas Beraldo slotted into the defence with ease, and the rest of PSG's first-choice line-up was there. Day to forget for Mbappe Real were missing central defender Dean Huijsen through suspension, while the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold was an added blow. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The return to the starting XI of Mbappe, who missed the entire group stage through illness, did not prevent young striker Gonzalo Garcia from keeping his place. But the Spanish giants' front line, completed by Vinicius Junior, made no real impact, such was the extent of PSG's domination. Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made two superb saves inside the opening five minutes, the first to tip away a Ruiz shot, and the second to deny Nuno Mendes from point-blank range. Yet Courtois could not prevent Paris from scoring in the sixth minute, as Dembele pounced on slack defending by Raul Asencio. The Real 'keeper saved at the forward's feet but Ruiz converted the loose ball. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Three minutes later and the contest was effectively over when Antonio Rudiger failed to control a simple pass from Jude Bellingham, allowing Dembele to run through before finishing low into the corner. Like his friend Mbappe, Dembele was starting for the first time at the competition having been injured. That was a 35th club goal since August for a player who is a serious candidate for the Ballon d'Or. It was turning into a humiliating afternoon for Real as PSG got their third midway through the first half. A deflected shot by Mbappe was easily held by Gianluigi Donnarumma, and no Madrid player touched the ball again before they were picking it out of their net a minute later. Dembele released Achraf Hakimi on the right and he squared for Ruiz, the Spain star taking a touch to hold off Fede Valverde before finishing. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could have got a fourth before the interval, while Desire Doue had a goal disallowed early in the second half. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD But Real were not coming back, and Alonso opted to take off Bellingham and Vinicius just after the hour mark in a clear sign of surrender. PSG then got their fourth after 87 minutes when Ramos controlled a pass from fellow substitute Bradley Barcola, turned and fired in.

(AP Photo/Adam Hunger) EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Wearing their blue, red and white jerseys, Paris Saint-Germain supporters were surrounded by white shirts. Real Madrid fans were 95% of the crowd at MetLife Stadium for Wednesday's Club World Cup semifinal, the shirts of Los Blancos radiant in the harsh summer sun. Yet, it was PSG fans in a couple sections behind one goal who cheered virtually from start to finish as their team moved within one win of a historic quadruple. Advertisement A 4-0 rout of Real Madrid in a Club World Cup semifinal following a 5-0 wipeout of Inter Milan in the Champions League final reinforced that PSG may be the dominant soccer team of the mid-2020s. 'We have always said that the collective work by the players is what's helping us,' said Fabián Ruiz, who scored twice as PSG built a three-goal lead in the first 24 minutes. 'We are a great group, a young group that is working well.' PSG moved on to Sunday's final against Chelsea in the first expanded Club World Cup with a chance to win its fourth major title of the season exactly 100 days after it clinched Ligue 1 on April 5. It added the Coupe de France by beating Reims 3-0 on May 24, then romped over Inter seven days later. PSG's blue, red and white jerseys don't have glamorous names pressed across the back, and they may not be as ubiquitous as the the red shirts of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, Manchester City's light blue or Chelsea's royal blue, but the team is filling up the trophy display at Parc des Princes, its cramped, outdated stadium not far from Roland-Garros and the Bois de Boulogne. Advertisement On May 31 at Munich, Achraf Hakimi got the first goal 12 minutes in, Désiré Doué scored the next two and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu added one goal each. This time, Ruiz scored in the sixth minute and Ousmane Dembélé in the ninth following glaring mistakes by defenders Raúl Asencio and Antonio Rüdiger, and Ruiz made it 3-0 to cap a counter. Gonçalo Ramos added a goal in the 87th. Dembélé, this year's Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner with 21 goals, started for the first time since straining his left quadriceps with France on June 5. He missed the Club World Cup group stage and was a substitute in PSG's first two knockout matches, scoring in second-half injury time during Saturday's 2-0 quarterfinal win over Bayern Munich. 'This is the first match in this World Cup that we can use Usman as a normal player," PSG coach Luis Enrique said. 'I think he is the best player this season by a long term and I think he deserves to win everything because he gave everything to the team and the team is going to achieve trophies, which is the most important thing for a club.' Advertisement Real Madrid has 15 European and five world titles, a modern global superpower brand established two decades ago in the Galacticos era of David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo, then lifted loftier by Cristiano Ronaldo from 2009-18 and the rise of social media. PSG hadn't won a Ligue 1 title since 1995 when Qatar Sports Investments took over in 2011. Paris has won 11 of 13 French championships since 2013 but until May failed to become Europe's best, despite emulating Madrid's star collection when its lineup included Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. A group achieved more than the star system. 'We've all made history, that is, the players, the staff, the sports director, the managers, the fans, we've all made history,' Enrique, hired in July 2023, said through an interpreter. Advertisement PSG dominated every aspect with a 631-255 advantage in completed passes and 67% possession, including 76.5% in the first half. 'It's a painful defeat. We were not up to standard today,' Real coach Xabi Alonso through an interpreter. PSG has outscored opponents 16-1 in six matches, getting three goals from Ruiz, two each from Dembele, Hakimi and João Neves, and one apiece from Doué, Lee Kang-in, Kvaratskhelia, Mayulu, Ramos and Vitinha. It hasn't allowed a goal since a 1-0 loss to Botofogo in its second group-stage match. 'We're truly happy to be in another final. Now we have to enjoy it because we're doing something historic,' Ruiz said. 'It's very difficult to reach every final this season, and now we're one step away.' ___ AP freelance writer Nuria Diaz Muñoz contributed to this report. ___ AP soccer:
