Boundless Adventure Brings Back Trekking Routes in Nepal with a Human-Centered, Low-Impact Approach

Nepal's trekking industry is shifting. Boundless Adventure offers eco-guided hikes through the Manaslu region, built around respect for local culture, slow travel, and genuine mountain connection. As the sun rises over Gorkha, smoke from cooking fires drifts up the valley, and the Manaslu trail stirs to life. These quiet paths, part of the country's lesser-known trekking routes in Nepal, aren't built for crowds or traffic—just footsteps, fresh mountain air, and the rhythm of Himalayan mornings. This is where Boundless Adventure has chosen to build its future. For founder and expedition guide Dambar Khadka, trekking has never been about ticking off peaks. It's about slowing down, walking with intention, and building a memory you can't post on social media. His company, Boundless Adventure Pvt. Ltd., is now seeing more travelers ask for untouched, ethical, and personal routes. One trail keeps coming up: the Manaslu Circuit. Interest in Nepal's lesser-known trekking routes is growing, and it's not just a post-pandemic trend. According to the Adventure Travel Trade Association, over 78% of travelers said sustainability matters when choosing a travel provider last year. Boundless Adventure has seen a 27% increase in bookings for what Dambar Khadka calls 'conscious trekking,' guided journeys built around cultural respect, environmental care, and slow travel. The Manaslu Circuit Trek winds through mountain villages where roads haven't reached. There are no espresso bars or tourist lodges with buffet spreads. Instead, guests stay with local families, share dal bhat around the stove, and learn a different pace. Boundless Adventure trains every guide on leave-no-trace practices and works directly with community leaders to ensure the company's presence benefits locals, not just passersby. Khadka is clear about one thing: this is not luxury trekking. There are cold nights, long climbs, and moments that test you. But that's precisely the point for the people who choose this path, often solo professionals from the US, UK, Australia, or Canada in their late 20s to 40s. They're not looking for a tour. They're looking to feel something real again. Boundless Adventure has started offering optional carbon-offset add-ons for all treks and is one of the few Nepalese operators advocating for stronger environmental guidelines tied to permit access. It's not just good branding; it's necessary, Khadka says, if Nepal's trails are to remain for the next generation. Alongside the Manaslu route, the company also offers curated Annapurna Base Camp Trek packages and broader Nepal Tour Packages for those seeking cultural immersion without the altitude. All trips are tailored to ability and interest, with safety, prep, and pacing at the core. Porters are paid above the market rate. Waste is packed out. Travelers are briefed on etiquette before setting foot in a village. Boundless Adventure isn't trying to scale fast. It's trying to do it right. And that might be why more trekkers are turning away from Everest photo-ops and choosing the long, quiet road instead. For those looking to explore Nepal with respect and purpose, Boundless Adventure offers more than a trek: About Boundless Adventure Pvt. Ltd. Boundless Adventure Pvt. Reading between the ruins

Recommendations: Cost of War by Simran Randhawa: It is a personal and moving account of love, loss, and resilience. 'It tells the story of Major SJS Randhawa, an Indian Army officer who died in service and was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra. Just as much, it is about the family he left behind — his wife Romi (RJ) and their daughter. It also captures the transformation of Romi into Lt Col Ravinder Jit Randhawa — from a grieving wife to the first war widow to join the Indian Army as an officer. 1971: Stories of Grit and Glory from the Indo-Pak War by Maj Gen Ian Cardozo: 'In 1971, Maj Gen Ian Cardozo shares untold stories of bravery and sacrifice from one of South Asia's most important wars. Through interviews with survivors and families, the book brings to life acts of courage: a Gorkha battalion's heliborne assault behind enemy lines, Indian Air Force raids over Dhaka, and the INS Khukri captain who went down with his ship.'

Woman booked for ‘objectionable' post on Jaunsari, Gorkha women in Doon

Dehradun: A case has been registered against a woman in Dehradun 's Vikasnagar area for allegedly circulating an objectionable message on WhatsApp that targeted the character of Jaunsari tribal and Gorkha women , referencing the practice of polyandry, police said on Sunday. The case was filed following a complaint by Daksha Rawat, a member of the Jaunsari tribe, who described the message as "highly derogatory towards tribal people and an attack on the character of the community's women." He also alleged that the message sought to create a rift between different communities. SSP Dehradun, Ajai Singh, said, "According to the complaint, the message was shared via a phone number on multiple social media platforms. The complainant claimed that the number was found to be registered under the name of Sarojbala Rawat. The content reportedly contained objectionable and offensive remarks about women from Jaunsar, which is recognised as a Scheduled Tribe (ST) area." He added that a case has been registered under BNS section 196(1) (promoting enmity between different groups), and section 3(1)(u) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. An investigation is currently underway to arrest the accused.
