Bill Cosby speaks to ABC News about late co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner
Bill Cosby shared heartfelt memories of his on-screen son, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who died Sunday after drowning in Costa Rica at age 54. Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," was caught in a strong current while swimming during a family vacation on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. Despite rescue attempts by beachgoers, first responders were unable to save him. In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Cosby remembered Warner, who played his son for eight seasons on their hit show, as an ultimate professional. "He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much," Cosby said. The role of Theo was loosely based on Cosby's own son, Ennis, who passed away in 1997. Cosby revealed that he and Warner maintained a close relationship long after the show ended. MORE: Malcolm-Jamal Warner, former 'Cosby Show' star, dead at 54 "Malcolm calls here regularly," Cosby said, describing their relationship as one where he acted as a mentor, similar to his own grandfather. "He was very professional," Cosby recalled. "He always knew his part... He always knew his lines, and he always knew where to go." Warner's career flourished beyond his role as Theo Huxtable. He appeared in numerous TV shows, including "Sons of Anarchy" and "The Resident" and even won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance in 2015. His most recent work included a podcast exploring Black experiences and identities in America. Tributes poured in from entertainment industry colleagues, including actress Tracee Ellis Ross, who said Warner "made the world a brighter place" and Jamie Foxx, who wrote he was "speechless," adding "Rest in power, my brother." Bill Cosby has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault and sexual harassment. He served three years in prison after he was convicted of sexual assault in 2018 -- but that conviction was overturned in appeal. He has maintained his innocence. Solve the daily Crossword

Justin Bieber's 'underlying issues' resurface despite Swag comeback and Hailey rekindling
Justin Bieber 'still has underlying issues' to tend to amid a current hot streak that has seen him rebound personally and professionally, a celebrity insider told Page Six Saturday. The two-time Grammy-winner, 31, continues to have people who know him concerned for his well-being amid recent upticks with his career with the release of his latest album Swag; and a newfound solidarity in his marriage to wife Hailey, 28, the insider told the outlet. The Peaches vocalist currently appears to be on much firmer ground with the supermodel, with whom he shares son Jack, 11 months. While Hailey had been seen in public without her wedding ring last month, the couple appeared to be on affectionate terms when they were seen earlier this month in Switzerland. The Canadian pop star 'doesn't particularly handle' the limelight 'well,' despite having one of the most recognizable faces on the planet, another source told Page Six. Daily Mail has reached out to Bieber's rep for further comment on the story. A source close to the pop star put the situation in perspective to the outlet: 'Imagine being 14 and famous and people either love you for no reason just because you're who you are, or they hate you? There's not a lot of in between.' The source told Page Six they were 'concerned about Bieber's future, that 'a lot of people wouldn't deal well with that to begin with' and that 'it breaks a lot of people.' Bieber's bad behavior has manifested in recent months in the form of arguing with Hailey online, acting erratically and clashing with paparazzi, a source told Page Six. The material on the latest album, which Justin released July 11, included a trio of comedy skits with comic Druski. One of the bits dubbed 'Therapy session,' in which Druski portrays a counselor, Bieber touches on the complications of living life in the limelight. 'That's been a tough thing for me recently - feeling like I have had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human, as all of us do, really publicly. 'And so people are always asking if I'm OK - and that starts to really weigh on me.' Bieber said that the attention makes him feel like he's 'the one with the issues and everyone else is perfect.' This past May, reps for Bieber issued a clear denial that he had been abused by Sean ' Diddy ' Combs when he was younger. Bieber was among the guests in attendance at a raucous 2014 bash attended by Diddy, Cassie, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and a number of other celebs in shots Diddy posted and deleted more than a decade ago. On May 15, Bieber's team issued the following statement to TMZ amid Combs' ongoing criminal trial. 'Although Justin is not among Sean Combs' victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,' a rep for the musical artist told the outlet May 15. 'Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.' Bieber sold rights to his catalog for $200 million in 2023, the Los Angeles Times reported. Bieber's most recent studio album prior to Swag was Justice in 2021. The album garnered critical acclaim and spawned successful commercial tracks such as Peaches, a Billboard Hot 200 chart-topper; and the top 10 hits Holy, Anyone and Ghost. Bieber in February of 2023 officially canceled the remainder of his Justice World Tour after the singer said he was diagnosed with the condition Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which can lead to facial paralysis. Bieber had previously had to cancel shows on the tour in the fall of 2022, explaining his absences from the stage in an emotional post on his Instagram Stories. Hailey was seen donning her wedding ring at a fashion industry event in April 'Earlier this year, I went public with my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partially paralyzed,' he said. 'As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour. He said that he suffered health woes after performing a set at the Rock in Rio festival. 'After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now,' he said. 'So I'm going to take a break from touring for the time being. I'm going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better. 'I've been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!'
