Rihanna Reaches A New Billboard Chart For The First Time In Her Career

Rihanna's 'Friend of Mine' opens at No. 3 on Billboard's new Hot Dance/Electronic Pop Songs chart, ... More earning the singer her first hit on the tally. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 10: Rihanna attends the Savage X Fenty Celebration of Lavish Lace Debut at Nordstrom Century City on October 10, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor Savage X Fenty) Rihanna's new single 'Friend of Mine' is experiencing something of a lukewarm reception on the Billboard charts this week. The tune arrives on more than half a dozen tallies in the United States, thanks largely to its quick adoption by a number of radio formats. While the latest from the Grammy winner underperforms in some respects, it also grants the singer her first success on a list she's never appeared on before. Rihanna lands on the Hot Dance/Electronic Pop Songs chart for the first time this week. 'Friend of Mine' opens at No. 3 on Billboard's ranking of the most consumed tunes that straddle the line between pop and dance music. The cut is not just the highest-ranking debut of the frame, it's the only new title on the tally this time around. Billboard only introduced the Hot Dance/Electronic Pop Songs chart a few months ago, and Rihanna hasn't released any new music prior to 'Friend of Mine' for several years, so it's not shocking that this is her first placement – even though she's scored multiple dance smashes in the past. Her last single before 'Friend of Mine,' 'Lift Me Up,' which was written and recorded for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, dropped in 2022. That tune likely wouldn't have been eligible for this roster anyway, based on its style. Rihanna has landed on this list with her first eligible brand new cut. This week, Rihanna is beaten to the summit by two of the very few No. 1s in the short history of the Hot Dance/Electronic Pop Songs chart. Lady Gaga leads for a fourteenth week with 'Abracadebra.' That track, taken from Mayhem, has spent 16 frames somewhere on the list, and all but two of them in charge. 'Revolving Door' by Tate McRae holds steady in the runner-up spot after briefly leading the charge. 'Friend of Mine' performs well on a number of Billboard's dance-specific rankings. It starts at No. 1 on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart and enters the Dance Streaming Songs list at No. 6. The cut, which was crafted specifically for the upcoming Smurfs movie, is also a quick top 40 success across a number of radio formats. Unfortunately, it misses out on reaching the Hot 100, but only by one space. Instead, it launches at No. 1 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100.

Taylor Swift fans go nuts as she makes huge announcement: 'My greatest dream come true'

Taylor Swift fans are going nuts over the singer announcing she's bought back the rights to her music. 'To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,' wrote the Grammy -winner in a handwritten note on her website. The Bad Blood crooner said the fact she now owns the rights to all the music she has ever made has brought so much joy to her life she's been bursting into tears. Swift purchased her catalog of recordings that were first released through Big Machine Records. It has taken her six years to close the deal. She acquired those six albums and associated visuals from their most recent owner, Shamrock Capital, for an undisclosed nine-figure sum. However, sources close to the contract negotiations claim the recent figure touted for the buy-back deal of 'between $600million-$1billion' is 'highly inaccurate.' Scooter Braun told 'I am happy for her.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the . She writes in her letter: 'I'm trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. 'All the times I was thiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. 'But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get say to say these words: 'All of the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me.' 'And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased. songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work.' Swift also wrote: 'I know, I know. What about Rep TV? Full transparency. I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. 'The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. 'All that defiance, that longing to be understood while Feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it. 'Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to hatch. I've already completely re-recorded my album, and I really love how it sounds now. 'Those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about. 'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.' Justin Bieber's old manager Scooter Braun's company Ithaca Holdings bought the catalog in 2019 before Shamrock acquired it from him a year later. Braun does not profit from the sale. And he was not involved in Shamrock's decision to sell the music. In June of 2021, Braun told Variety that he felt 'regret' over the situation. 'I regret and it makes me sad that Taylor had that reaction to the deal,' he said. 'All of what happened has been very confusing and not based on anything factual.' On Instagram she wrote: 'You belong with me.❤️ Letter on my site :).' Taylor will be reissuing her old Big Machine albums. Those albums were first sold by Big Machine in 2019, something she was not happy with. There will be two fully authorized versions of each of those albums in the marketplace, since she's saying the re-recorded Taylor's Versions will continue to be available alongside the originals. Two of those bonus-filled editions have yet to come out, including the long-awaited Reputation (Taylor's Version). Her letter explained that this new arrangement will not prevent the remaining pair of redo albums from being released. Sources close to the contract negotiations claimed to MailOnline that the recent figure touted for the buy-back deal 'between $600million-$1billion' is 'highly inaccurate'. A different source told Billboard that Shamrock sold Swift's catalog back to her for a figure reportedly close to what they paid — around $360 million. Meanwhile, after news broke of Swift's business move, Braun said, 'I'm happy for her.' And Taylor's longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who has worked with her since 2014, broke his silence on the big news with an incredible tweet. Taking to X, Jack shared a candid video of himself and Taylor belting out her song Getaway Car—a fan favorite from her 2017 Reputation album. Many had expected Reputation (Taylor's Version) to be her next release before news broke that she had officially bought back her original masters. 'Rep forever guilt-free listening!' Jack captioned the clip. Swift's close friend Selena Gomez also offered her congratulations to the singer after buying back the rights to her music. The former Disney channel actress reposted Taylor's post to her Instagram stories and also penned a sweet message: 'YES YOU DID THAT TAY!!!! SO proud!' Taylor's announcement comes just one day after she was seen out with a new friend: Dakota Johnson, who is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.

Shakira makes history as she breaks records on Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour - after singer slipped on stage

Shakira 's Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour has become the highest grossing Latin American concert by a female artist. The Columbian singer, 48, has made history after surpassing Karol G 's Mañana Será Bonito song. Her Mexican and South American shows have grossed a staggering $130million (£96million) with 21 shows. It's a close comparison to Columbian singer Karol G's previous tour record of $125 million (£92million) with 29 shows. According to Billboard, Shakira is the only Latin tour to reach Top 10 of the 2025 midyear Boxscore Report, ranking No. 2 globally. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Shakira fell on stage during a performing Whenever, Wherever last week at the Bell Centre in Montreal - coming weeks after concerns of a Measles outbreak at a concert she performed in New Jersey earlier this month. The three-time Grammy winner was in the middle of performing the high-energy track - a top 10 hit on Billboard 's charts in late 2001 - when she slipped and hit the ground. A fan posted a clip of the fall on Instagram Stories, depicting the South American singer, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, losing her balance sideways and hitting the ground. The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker - who has been on the road on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour - dusted herself off and continued with her performance. One user said on X that Shakira 'handled it like the boss that she is,' while another called the entertainer's refusal to let the slip derail the show 'a great example of resilience! The commenter added, "Hope she didn't get injured. Such falls cause pains and injuries the next morning.' The slip was one in a number of complications Shakira and her team have faced on the road this time around. The May 15 show at MetLife Stadium led the New Jersey Department of Health to publicly state that those who attended 'could develop symptoms [of measles] as late as June 6'. Shakira fell on stage during a performing Whenever, Wherever last Tuesday at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The three-time Grammy winner was in the middle of performing the high-energy track - a top 10 hit on Billboard's charts in late 2001 - when she slipped and hit the ground Authorities in the Garden State said that anyone who was present at the venue - which hosts the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets - between the evening May 15 into early on May 16 could have been exposed to the airborne virus. Health officials said that a person who was infected with measles was present at the show for the superstar songstress, who has past worked on collaborations with Rihanna, Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas. Shakira has also dealt with an 'abdominal issue' that led her to cancel a February 16 show at Peru's National Stadium after visiting a hospital over it the prior day. 'I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,' the Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) artist said via Instagram Stories. The Underneath Your Clothes artist - who is mother to sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10 with ex Gerard Piqué, 38, is due to visit the U.S. capital for a show on May 31 at Nationals Park. That will be followed by concerts in large cities such as Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, San Antonio and Houston, among other destinations.

Britney Spears drops clue about new career move after smoking on plane saga

Britney Spears is one step closer to launching a surprising new business venture that has absolutely nothing to do with singing, dancing, or performing. On May 16, the 43-year-old Grammy winner's attorney Peter Nussbaum filed a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for her first-ever jewelry brand, B. Tiny - according to the website. Britney created the line through her limited liability company Baby One More Mark, LLC; and her completed application is currently pending approval from an assigned examiner. Spears teased a glimpse of a new white flower choker while aboard a JSX private plane from Cabo San Lucas to LA last Thursday where she got into trouble for lighting up a cigarette. 'You guys like my flower choker?' the semi-retired pop star asked her 41.8M Instagram followers last Friday. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop 'B. Tiny is coming soon and that's something we have added! It's honestly adorable!' Britney first announced B. Tiny on November 3 and she shared a video of her right hand wearing a blue gemstone hand chain. 'My first jewelry line coming soon! Delicate, extremely different, and one-of-a-kind pieces!' Spears revealed. 'I'm so excited! Realizing how cool it is to be an artist that can be passionate in so many different ways! B. Tiny coming soon! Girls you're gonna f***ing love it!' The Hold Me Closer hitmaker is also said to be very hands on with her fully-authorized biopic for Universal Pictures, which is still in the developmental stage. On March 23, director Jon M. Chu shut down speculation over whether Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Millie Bobby Brown, Emma Roberts, Sydney Sweeney, Addison Rae, Florence Pugh, Tate McRae, or Olivia Holt were in contention to play Britney. 'None of this is true,' the 45-year-old Wicked filmmaker tweeted. 'Sounds exciting but have not had one conversation about casting this movie yet. We are way too early in development. Sorry.' On August 1, Universal 'paid in the low eight figures' for the rights to Spears' NY Times-bestselling 2023 memoir The Woman In Me and music catalogue in the movie from producer Marc Platt. Simon & Schuster originally paid the Mississippi-born singer a $12.5M advance (25% of the net profits) to pen the critically-acclaimed tell-all with three alleged ghostwriters - Ada Calhoun, Sam Lansky, and Luke Dempsey. On the personal front, Britney made her final $20K child support payment to second ex-husband Kevin Federline on November 15 for their 18-year-old son Jayden James (their eldest son Sean Preston is 19). Spears divorced the 47-year-old former back-up dancer in 2007 after only two years of wedded bliss.

SZA's nipple pasties exposed as she almost spills out of VERY revealing dress while accepting 2025 AMA Awards

SZA flashed more than just her mega-watt smile while accepting two of the six trophies she was nominated for during the 51st Annual American Music Awards on Monday following her steamy duet with Justin Bieber. The 35-year-old alt-R&B singer dared to bare the bedazzled silver pasties decorating her décolletage as she delivered her acceptance speech onstage the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. SZA's (born Solána Imani Rowe) elegant nipple covers were on full display, peeking over the bodice of her black plunging corseted top and matching mermaid skirt selected by stylist Dunsin Wright. Hairstylist Devante Turnbull coiffed the five-time Grammy winner's voluminous ginger mane and make-up artist Deanna Paley fully contoured her complexion. First, SZA took home favorite R&B song for her 2024 single Saturn over rivals Chris Brown, Muni Long, Tommy Richman, and The Weeknd & Playboi Carti. 'Thank you for choosing the song,' the Missouri-born Jersey Girl said. 'I'm so grateful for everyone that worked on this song — just for the energy that was cultivated. Creating the song was so easy and I'm just grateful. God bless you, God bless everyone. Thank you to my mom and my dad.' SZA — who doesn't play an instrument — later won favorite female R&B artist over rivals Kehlani, Muni Long, Summer Walker, and Tyla. The One of Them Days actress immediately gave a shout out to Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, who presented the trophy, for launching a weekend-long boot camp for emerging content creators. 'Tell them about Streamer University! Congrats to Kai!' SZA said. 'Literally to all of [my fanbase] Camp, I love you so much. This is like our first time entering fan-won awards so, like, thank you for mobbing for us. I love you so much just as much as you love me, probably more, you have no idea!' The Drive singer wound up losing artist of the year to Billie Eilish, favorite R&B album to The Weeknd, and favorite hip-hop song to Kendrick Lamar during the CBS/Paramount+ telecast. SZA and the 37-year-old Pulizer Prize-winning poet's duet Luther wound up losing collaboration of the year to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
