Queen's Album Surges Back Onto Several Charts At The Same Time

Queen's Greatest Hits climbs on five Billboard charts this week, reentering both the Vinyl Albums ... More and Top Album Sales lists thanks to a 20% sales jump. 1975: British rock band Queen (L-R: Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury, Brian May and John Deacon pose for an Electra Records publicity still to promote their tour of Japan in 1975. (Photo by Michael) Greatest Hits by Queen is one of a select few compilations by beloved rock bands that continues to find space on the Billboard charts, even decades after its release. At times, it appears on multiple rankings simultaneously, while in other instances — especially when competition is fierce or interest in the band's catalog dips slightly — it doesn't occupy quite as much real estate. The current chart week is a huge one for Greatest Hits by the English rock outfit. Pure purchases of the title have increased, bringing the compilation back to several rankings at once and helping it climb on a handful of others. Greatest Hits currently appears on half a dozen Billboard charts. It reenters two of them and climbs on three others. Not too shabby for a release that's more than 40 years old. This frame, Greatest Hits earns its most impressive return on the Vinyl Albums tally, where it rocks back in at No. 23. It's also found once again on the Top Album Sales ranking, landing at No. 44 on that 50-spot roster. Luminate reports that from one week to the next, Queen's compilation saw its sales spike by more than 20%. One week, the title sold just under 2,000 copies. In the most recent frame, which is currently powering the Billboard charts, it sold a little under 2,400 units — an increase of almost exactly 400 sales from one week to the next. The bestselling compilation also climbs on three other tallies, in addition to returning to a pair of lists. The set surges back into the top 10 on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rankings, settling at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively. It also ascends to No. 54 on the Billboard 200. The only tally where Greatest Hits doesn't move up or reappear is the Top Hard Rock Albums ranking. On that list, it holds steady at No. 3. The compilation has already spent time inside the top 10 on all six of these Billboard rankings. It has ruled four of them and stalled at No. 3 on the Top Album Sales chart. So far, its lowest peak position remains No. 8, where it stalled on the Billboard 200.

Axl Rose's Stage Wipeouts Featured in Guns N' Roses' Humorous Instagram Compilation

Guns N' Roses are embracing frontman Axl Rose's history of onstage missteps with humor, sharing a lighthearted compilation of his most memorable falls. Posted on the band's official Instagram account, the video montage showcases Rose's many tumbles throughout his decades-long career — all set to the backdrop of their iconic track, 'Welcome to the Jungle.' Titled 'Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits,' the one-minute video features clips dating back to the 1980s and highlights a series of onstage wipeouts. The footage shows Rose falling backward, face-first, and even walking straight off the stage. One of the more recent mishaps occurred during their concert in Mumbai over the weekend, when the 63-year-old singer tripped while sprinting up a staircase mid-performance of 'Sweet Child O' Mine.' That incident appears as the second clip in the reel. Fans and followers responded positively to the self-deprecating post, applauding the band's willingness to laugh at themselves — particularly Rose, who has remained at the helm of the group through countless tours and performances. The compilation coincides with the launch of Guns N' Roses' 'Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things' World Tour. The band is set to perform across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East through the end of July. Select shows will feature special guests including Public Enemy, Rival Sons, and Sex Pistols. This tour also introduces drummer Isaac Carpenter, who joined the lineup earlier this year after replacing longtime member Frank Ferrer. 'Carpenter has made a name for himself by uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill,' the band said in a statement, adding that being behind the drum kit may be the safest place when it comes to avoiding Rose-style stumbles.

Creed Continues To Reach New Chart Peaks, Decades After Its Heyday

There was a time when Creed was perhaps the biggest band in America — and one of the most commercially viable acts around the world. Then tastes changed, and the group stepped away from the spotlight. After a lengthy hiatus, the outfit returned in 2009, but sadly has not produced a new full-length since. While new music is reportedly on the way — or at least rumored to be — the classics that made the Grammy-nominated act so popular in the first place have been growing in popularity across the United States throughout the past several years, and in some case, growing to new highs. This week, Creed's Greatest Hits lifts two spots on the Top Alternative Albums chart. It ascends from No. 9 to No. 7 on Billboard's ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs categorized as alternative, which typically refers to alternative rock. No. 7 now marks the title's all-time best showing on this particular list. The set hits that peak in its fifty-ninth frame on the tally, and many years after it was initially released. Greatest Hits is easily Creed's longest-running success on the Top Alternative Albums chart, though it is not the band's highest-peaking title. That honor still belongs to Full Circle, which debuted at No. 1 in late 2009. Human Clay, the group's sophomore set, has thus far spent one week at No. 22, as it debuted less than a year ago — decades after it was originally introduced to the public. This frame, Greatest Hits appears on five Billboard rankings and is climbing on three of them. In addition to its rise on the Top Alternative Albums chart, the collection also moves up a few spots on both the Billboard 200 and Top Rock & Alternative Albums lists. It remains stationary on the Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums tallies, as it seems that streaming activity is strong enough to power the project onto quite a few charts at once. Several generation-defining tunes continue to keep Greatest Hits going, with "One Last Breath" standing out as the biggest success at the moment. This time around, the track returns to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, while also climbing on both the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales and Alternative Streaming Songs rankings. "Higher," another one of the group's most familiar tracks — which earned frontman Scott Stapp a Grammy — also improves on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs roster this frame.

Richard Madeley opens up about marriage to Judy Finnigan admitting they're 'semi-detached'

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan first appeared on our screens in 1988 on This Morning but the couple now admit their dynamic has shifted Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are one of the UK's most iconic pairings, but it's unlikely we will ever see the duo we know and love back on our screens now they've gone "semi-detached." The couple were the face of Channel 4 from 1988 until 2001, and then hosted their own chat show on Channel 4, called Richard & Judy from 2001 to 2009. The duo then went their separate ways for presenting commitments. ‌ Speaking to Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast, Richard and Judy revealed that although their working relationship has gone separate ways, their love is as strong as ever. ‌ Judy expressed to the Greatest Hits radio presenter, Kate, saying: "We are incredibly close, we always have been. Obviously, I think working together for so long has bonded us more tightly than if we had two completely separate jobs." She then went on to explain that the magazine-style format of the show they once hosted gave her and her husband of nearly 40 years a natural "instinct" that has stayed with them ever since, the Mirror reports. She continued: "I think the thing is, when you're presenting a show like the kind that we presented, it's very instinctive, you're doing interviews all the time." "By the time I decided I'd had enough, you and I were something completely different anyway, it just didn't matter, it didn't make any difference at all." "When you go and do GMB, I'm still here in bed, I'm happy to stay when he gets up, it doesn't make any difference at all to our relationship." ‌ Back in 2017, Richard joined the Good Morning Britain panel as a guest presenter before he was made a permanent figure in 2022. He had also 'gone solo' to host Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway and Eye of the Storm. Richard told Kate that he understands that taking on these solo projects might make viewers wonder if there are issues within his and Judy's marriage. He explained: "I can see that from the outside, it looks as if... as you say, we were bonded in our professional lives together and now we're not, but actually, here on the inside, we still are. ‌ "So we're not actually as detached, I suppose we're a bit semi-detached, but we're not detached in the way that it might seem to outsiders." The couple share two children together, Chloe 37 and son Jack, 38. Richard is also a step-father to Judy's twins Dan and Tom from her first marriage to David Henshaw. ‌ The couple first met on Richard's first day working at Granada and they quickly become close and have been together since 1986. However, their first meeting at work left Richard more than a little taken aback when his future wife introduced herself with a boldly cheeky nickname - "Mummy." Judy previously recalled: "I remember the first time I saw him. He walked into the newsroom and I was sitting at my desk at the other end. ‌ "I remember exactly what he was wearing: a pale blue linen suit. I thought he looked nice. Tall, handsome and all that but I thought the suit was a bit flash. Then, because he was a newbie, I was assigned the job of looking after him." Richard - who developed a crush on Judy after watching her on television - added: "I was sitting at my desk when this hand appeared on my shoulder and I looked up at this face and Judy said, 'Hi, I'm your Mummy' and I thought 'What?'" "At Granada when someone new arrived, someone was appointed as their dad or their mum to show them round the canteen, the toilets and all that. So Judy was my 'mum'." ‌ When they first met, Richard and Judy were both married to other people, with Richard previously admitting he had ten affairs during his marriage to Lynda Hooly, the couple were married for six years and wed when Richard was just 21-years-old. He said: "Although the marriage had some very happy moments, there was a lot of negativity in it. I'm not using that as an excuse. It's wrong to have affairs, but I was a very young man." ‌ Richard and Lynda were separated when he first met Judy, but Judy was still married. The couple had an affair when they began dating behind fellow journalist David's back. Richard knew from their third date that Judy was the woman for him, but she was cornered that he wouldn't be able to cope being a stepdad to her two twins due to the age gap. At the time Richard was only 26 and Julie was 34. She said: "I had to be absolutely convinced that Richard was mature enough and sure enough of his own mind that my boys weren't going to be hurt. When we first got together I remember my mother said to him, 'If you hurt those boys I'll never forgive you'." ‌ It took Judy over a year to make up her mind between her husband and Richard - he was over the moon when she finally chose him. The couple's first trip together was a week-long getaway to Cornwall with the twins, a place that became so meaningful to them they eventually made it their home years later. However, their happiness was soon overshadowed by heartbreak when Judy's first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and she was tragically forced to deliver their baby. ‌ The pair went on to have two healthy children, and they still continue to maintain their very healthy sex life. Speaking to the Mirror, Richard had once said: "I think relationships can evolve to a point in old age where sex becomes less important - but I am 58, not 98. "In most dynamic marriages, sex is a very important component. You can deny that at your peril. One of the reasons that most marriages fail is because there is a growing sexual incompatibility. It has to be an important part of the equation. Research shows most happily married people in their 70s and 80s still have a functioning sex life and so they should. It's one of the most fundamental aspects of humanity." Both admit there is a 'jealous, passionate' relationship. Richard expressed: "I think it's incredible that I've been fortunate enough to meet the woman I love. I know happy marriages come in different shapes and guises but I like the fact we're both possessive of one another. If Judy or I were to have an affair, it would be the end." She agreed: "I just can't bear to think of it. We both think the other is the most precious thing in the world. A good marriage is a blessing."
