Morgan Wallen Dominates Hot 100 With Six of Top 10 Spots, Tops Chart With Tate McRae on ‘What I Want'
Morgan Wallen has taken over the charts this week as 'What I Want' featuring Tate McRae has topped Billboard's Hot 100, while his fourth album I'm The Problem landed atop the albums chart as the biggest debut of 2025 so far. Overall, Wallen has six songs in the Top 10 this week, including all of the top three slots. 'What I Want' is Wallen's fourth Hot 100 chart-topper, and the first for McRae, whose biggest hit to this point has been 2023's 'Greedy,' which peaked at Number Three on the Hot 100. The song garnered 31.2 million streams, per Luminate. 'Just in Case' secured the second slot, while title track 'I'm The Problem' came in third. Wallen dethrones Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which had spent the past 13 weeks atop the Hot 100 prior to this week. It took less than a day for the album to become the most-streamed country record of the year on the major streaming platforms. I'm The Problem also secured 133,000 album sales as well. Wallen dethroned The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow for the biggest album debut of the year. Despite his own controversies in years past, Wallen has proven to be one of the biggest superstars in the country. Wallen's impressive opening this week reflects a continued surge in country music the singer has helped bolster over the past five years. While the streaming era has minted several stars like Luke Combs and Zach Bryan, Wallen remains the biggest act. Prior to I'm The Problem, Wallen topped the charts with Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing at a Time, both of which remain in the top 15 years after release. As The Hollywood Reporter first reported last month, Wallen's record label Big Loud has cashed in on that popularity, selling a minority stake in his catalog to the UMG-backed Chord Music partners for $200 million. Tate McRae stays off the internet 'to protect her sanity'
Tate McRae has a "love-hate" relationship with the internet. The 21-year-old pop star developed a large fan following as a teenager through her YouTube channel, but Tate admits to having a turbulent relationship with the internet. The 'Greedy' hitmaker told Paper magazine: "It's such a love-hate thing because I started on the internet. "My fans have grown with me, have stuck by my side and been so loyal since I was 13. They've watched me change from being a little nerd in my bedroom writing on my piano to now fulfilling my dreams of performing in arenas. That's a really crazy arc to follow, so I feel beyond grateful that they're with me, because without them, I wouldn't be anything. So there's that part of the internet that I have the most love for and gratitude for. "But then, creating and writing and making art while seeing yourself so much on the internet is also really confusing, and it can sometimes interrupt the flow of creating your best work. So you do have to keep that boundary for your own sanity - staying off the internet and not looking at opinions of yourself. And then also, keeping your fans close, too, because I cherish them so much." Tate continues to battle self-doubts, despite her fame and success. The pop singer revealed that she actually feels most comfortable and confident when she's in a recording studio. Tate said: "I feel so confused some days. "Bouncing from trying to be an adult to trying to feel confident, trying to feel sure of yourself and also learning who you are and what your tastes are and how to navigate through this industry. It is hard, because looking at yourself online that much isn't a normal thing for the brain to comprehend. It can be a little stressful. "I always feel my best when I'm writing in the studio, when I'm with my dancers and leading with kindness and compassion and feeling like a good person. That always keeps me stable and grounded. Making sure that you know your reality outside of the internet feels stable and good."

Zara Larsson 'is in awe of Tate McRae's work ethic'
Zara Larsson is "in awe" of Tate McRae. The 27-year-old singer is set to open for Tate, 21, on the Miss Possessive Tour, and Zara has admitted to being a huge fan of the 'Greedy' hitmaker. Zara told People: "She's so sweet. Beautiful. "I just can't believe she's 21 because she seems so mature, like she's been doing this for a really long time, kind of like I have. Maybe that's what people thought about me when I was 21. Now, I'm old. "I'm so in awe of her work ethic and how hard she goes at it. She has not stopped for years. But I think she loves what she's doing, and she's so passionate." Zara also admitted to feeling "inspired" by Tate's dance skills. She said: "I feel really inspired by the way she really has embraced her dancing side. I would love to dance more." Earlier this year, Tate described herself as a "very goal-driven person". The pop star revealed that she has a number of career ambitions that she really wants to achieve, including performing at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). Tate told Pride: "I always have things that I'm setting my sights on. I'm a very goal-driven person. Sometimes, I think I'm a little clairvoyant. I'm really good at manifesting! "I would die to perform at the VMA's. That's something I've watched all my idols do for so many years. For some reason, that specific performance is something I've always wanted. "My ideal performance is a perfect balance of dance, outfit, singing, and musical arrangement. When they're all balanced perfectly, that's my ideal performance." Tate also confessed to being amazed by her recent rise. The 'Sports Car' hitmaker still has vivid memories of performing in front of relatively small crowds. Tate said: "I can't believe this is my job. "Four years ago, I played my first ever show at The Moroccan Lounge in front of 100 people in Los Angeles. It was the size of a shoebox, like it's so small. I could see my grandma, my mom, and everybody that I knew. Now, we're performing three nights at the Kia Forum. It's the biggest dream of my life. It's insane!"

Maryland Zoo welcomes surprise giraffe birth
The Maryland Zoo has welcomed a special spring surprise. Their newest giraffe unexpectedly gave birth to a female calf. Zookeepers say when the 4-year-old mom Kipi arrived in November , they didn't know she was pregnant. They said the giraffe had a change in her behavior on March 26 and, lo and behold, she gave birth the next day. Zookeepers say giraffes usually don't show when they're pregnant because of their larger body size. The baby is healthy, and Kipi is a great first-time mother. Zoo officials said visitors were able to see Kipi starting Jan. 17 inside the Giraffe House. The Maryland Zoo mourned the loss of a 6-year-old giraffe named Willow in March 2023 after she experienced a sharp decline in her appetite and unexpectedly died a few days later. Willow was born at the zoo in 2017. At the time she was the first giraffe calf to be born at the zoo in over 20 years. She was born to female, Juma, and male Caesar, who still lives in the Giraffe House at the zoo. The Maryland Zoo welcomed several new animals in 2024, including adorable opossums Moose and Salmon, a baby chimpanzee named Ivy and a northern ground hornbill chick named Rwenzori. The zoo also said goodbye to Mr. Greedy, a beloved African Penguin who helped to rebuild the species' population in zoos across North America. Mr. Greedy was the oldest penguin at the zoo at 33 years old, surpassing the average penguin lifespan of 18 years. He lived to see five generations of his offspring. He was survived by Mrs. Greedy, a female penguin that he mated with when they arrived at the zoo in 1992.
