Good news for Gautam Adani as Adani Group bags project worth Rs 44000000000 from....

Gautam Adani- File image In a significant development for the Gautam Adani led Adani Group, Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) bagged a massive interstate transmission project worth Rs 1,600 crore in Maharashtra. With this project, AESL's order book now stands at Rs 61,600 crore. The new Adani project reportedly involves creation of a substation capacity of 3,000 mega volt-ampere (MVA) and other infrastructure related to power transmission. Earlier in March, the Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) had bagged a Rs 2,800 crore power transmission project in Gujarat, taking the total to Rs 4400 crore. Here all the details you need to know about the two recent projects for the Adani group. Adani group bags 1600 crore project in Maharashtra Awarded through a competitive bidding process, the Maharashtra project of the Adani group involves developing infrastructure with a substation capacity of 3,000 MVA. Bid under the the Interstate Transmission System (ISTS), AESL has stated that the initiative will support India's energy self-reliance and green goals. As per a report by PTI news agency, the Gujarat project will supply green electrons for manufacturing of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia at Mundra in Gujarat, AESL said in an exchange filing. For the company, this is its sixth order win this fiscal year, taking its order book to Rs 57,561 crore, the company said. This project 'Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat' involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation by adding two large 765/400kV (kilovolt) transformers. Additionally, a 75 km long 765kV double-circuit line will be constructed to connect this substation to the Bhuj substation. The project will see the addition of 150 cKM (circuit kilometer) of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA (megavolt-amperes) of transformation capacity to AESL's overall transmission infrastructure, taking them to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA, respectively. AESL won the project under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism and PFC Consulting Ltd was the bid process coordinator. (With inputs from agencies)

Electricity At Just Re 1/Unit? IIT-Bombay's Solar Breakthrough Could Slash Your Power Bills

Last Updated: IIT Bombay has developed a new solar cell tech that boosts power output by 30% and may cut electricity costs to Re 1/unit. It is set for rollout by 2027 Rising electricity bills have become a universal concern, affecting households across all income levels. During summer, appliances like air conditioners and refrigerators drive up power consumption, while in winter, heating needs take their toll. Now, a revolutionary technology developed in India may offer a sustainable and cost-effective solution. A Breakthrough In Solar Energy Researchers at IIT Bombay have developed an advanced solar cell capable of generating 25–30% more electricity than conventional technologies. While standard solar panels typically convert around 20% of solar energy into electricity, this new technology can achieve up to 30% efficiency. Crucially, this also reduces electricity costs, potentially bringing them down from Rs 2.5 – Rs 4 per unit to just Re 1 per unit. The Tandem Solar Cell Innovation As reported by The Indian Express, this advancement is led by Professor Dinesh Kabra and his team at the National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) at IIT Bombay. The team has developed a 'Tandem Solar Cell' that utilises Halide Perovskite in the top layer, known for its high light absorption, even in low light. The bottom layer is composed of silicon, a material already widely used in the solar industry. This powerful combination results in significantly greater electricity output. The Maharashtra government and IIT Bombay-backed startup ART-PV India Private Limited plan to bring the new solar cells to market by December 2027. All machinery and manufacturing will also be based in India. Professor Kabra, the scientist behind the innovation, also leads the startup overseeing the rollout. The technology will not be limited to large solar farms. It can be installed on household rooftops, building façades, vehicles, and more, making solar adoption more accessible and efficient. Furthermore, both IIT Bombay and the Maharashtra government aim to use this breakthrough to produce Green Hydrogen, a clean fuel vital to India's long-term energy goals. As India pushes towards renewable and self-reliant energy, innovations like IIT Bombay's tandem solar cell are poised to redefine how the nation generates and consumes power, making electricity more affordable, accessible, and sustainable. Minister opens national workshop to modernise energy strategy for 2025–2035

By JT - May 07,2025 - Last updated at May 07,2025 Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Wednesday launches the first national workshop to modernise Jordan's Energy Sector Strategy for 2025–2035 (Petra photo) AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Wednesday launched the first national workshop to modernise Jordan's Energy Sector Strategy for 2025–2035, with broad participation from government ministries, institutions, private sector representatives and local and international partners. In his opening remarks, Kharabsheh said that recent years have brought major shifts in the energy sector, particularly in storage technologies, renewable energy, and green hydrogen, changes that require a revised strategy to keep pace with international developments, according to a ministry statement. He noted that the previous strategy aimed to raise the share of renewable energy to 31 per cent of the total energy mix by 2030, a target now expected to be reached earlier, by 2027–2028, adding that this progress encourages higher future ambitions. Kharabsheh added that the updated strategy will also reflect key new developments, including the discovery of additional natural gas reserves by the National Petroleum Company, which will shape Jordan's energy outlook over the next decade. Underscoring the need for a cooperative approach, he urged public and private sector stakeholders, along with financial institutions, to help develop a comprehensive strategy that reflects the aspirations of all parties, beyond purely technical considerations. The minister stressed that existing challenges in the energy sector will be transformed into tangible opportunities, making the sector a pillar of sustainable economic growth in line with Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision. He also reiterated that the updated strategy will drive economic expansion, generate employment, increase exports and promote inclusive national development. The strategy update is supported technically by the advisory team of the Green Economy Support Programme in Jordan, which began its work late last year and is providing expert assistance to ensure the development of a scientific, participatory strategy.
