Ashes ticket sale frenzy shatters previous record

The previous record for tickets sold in a day stood at 111,741 (Image via X/@cricketcomau) Cricket Australia's 2025-26 Men's Ashes series has shattered single-day ticket sales records, with more than 2,20,000 tickets sold during the opening day of pre-sale, nearly doubling the previous record of 1,11,741 tickets set during the 2017-18 summer pre-sale period. The record was broken within hours of opening the priority pre-sale window, and was primarily driven by an exceptional demand for the Boxing Day match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and the first two days of the day-night Ashes Test at the Gabba. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Over 120,000 tickets were purchased for the international season before sales began in New South Wales and Western Australia, with the majority being for Ashes Tests. Only single tickets remain available for the opening two days of the Gabba day-night Test, while more than 55,000 seats have been secured for the Boxing Day event. A technical issue with the vendor in Western Australia affected sales for matches including the series-opening West Test, but overall sales still exceeded 220,000. IPL 2025 Final, RCB vs Punjab Kings: The wait will finally end in Ahmedabad "The record demand for tickets shows the excitement fans are feeling about the fantastic international season to come," said Cricket Australia chief executive Todd Greenberg. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Já planejou suas férias? Azul Linhas Aéreas Leia mais Undo "To surpass our previous ticket sales record even before NSW and WA tickets had gone on sale is a remarkable achievement and reaffirms our position as Australia's national sport. I would urge those who haven't already bought their tickets to do so now as we expect allocations to be exhausted for some days. We can't wait for an unforgettable summer of international cricket," added the top executive. The priority pre-sale period continues until midnight AEST on June 12, with remaining tickets going on general release on June 13. Poll How excited are you about the upcoming 2025-26 Men's Ashes series? Very excited Somewhat excited Not excited Indifferent The 2025-26 season will feature matches in every state and territory of Australia for the first time, including visits from South Africa and India's men's teams for white-ball matches preceding the Ashes Tests. India's tour includes an extensive eight-game, eight-city white-ball series across October and November. South Africa's schedule comprises three ODIs and three T20Is in northern Australia, marking the return of international cricket to Darwin after 17 years. The Proteas will also play in Cairns and Mackay in August. IPL 2025 Winner Prediction: What Greenstone Lobo's Astrology says Fans can still register for the priority pre-sale by visiting Cricket Australia's website. The staggered release of tickets saw high demand throughout the day as matches in the ACT, Queensland, and South Australia became available. NSW matches, including the SCG's Pink Test, went on sale at 3pm AEST, while Perth matches were available from 2pm local time. The upcoming Ashes series is expected to draw significant overseas attendance, unlike the 2021-22 series when Covid-19 restricted travel for English supporters.

Will rain play spoilsport in PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad?

Just two days after Mumbai Indians knocked Gujarat Titans out of 2025 in the Eliminator, the Hardik Pandya-led side will return for Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While Royal Challengers Bengaluru have already confirmed their spot in the final with an emphatic win over Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1, MI and PBKS will battle it out for the second spot in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The final is scheduled for June 3 at the same venue. However, the weather in Ahmedabad points to the possibility of rain playing spoilsport in the penultimate game of IPL 2025. It is understood that the Narendra Modi Stadium is experiencing frequent showers, although no heavy rains have been reported. A PBKS training session was briefly affected by rain as well. IPL 2025 Winner Prediction: What Greenstone Lobo's Astrology says Ahmedabad weather forecast for Sunday, June 1 Threats of rain spoiling the high octane clash persist as weather forecasts suggest the likelihood of showers. Game will be played without interruptions Rain will delay the game Game will be washed out What happens if PBKS vs MI is washed out? If Qualifier 2 between Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab and Hardik Pandya's MI does not take place, the table-toppers will get automatic qualification to the final by virtue of their superior finish in the points table after the league stage. PBKS finished top of the table with 19 points while MI made the playoffs after finishing fourth with 16 points.

IPL 2025: RCB announce ticket refunds after SRH match moved to Lucknow

RCB (PTI Photo) NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB ) have officially announced full refunds for all ticket holders after their upcoming IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was shifted out of Bengaluru due to persistent rain and unplayable conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The fixture, originally slated for May 23, has now been moved to the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Although the game remains an official RCB home fixture, the change in venue has left thousands of fans in Bengaluru disappointed, many of whom had already purchased tickets for the much-anticipated encounter. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! RCB issued a detailed statement outlining the refund process: 'As the game between RCB and SRH has been moved out of Bengaluru due to inclement weather , all valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund.' For digital ticket holders, the refund will be processed automatically within 10 working days to the original account used for the purchase. If the refund is not received by May 31, fans are advised to email refund@ with their booking details for escalation. Those who purchased physical tickets will need to return them to the original point of sale immediately in order to claim a refund. The match relocation was confirmed by the IPL earlier this week due to unfavourable weather in Bengaluru, with rain already disrupting multiple games this season. Greenstone Lobo predicts Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma's ODI future To minimise delays, the IPL has also introduced an additional one-hour buffer in match timings for all remaining league fixtures. RCB, already through to the playoffs , will use the game to gear up for the knockouts. SRH, playing for pride, will hope to end their season on a high. The refund move, though unfortunate for home fans, is being seen as a responsible step by RCB in a season full of unpredictable turns.
