Longview PD arrests man for fatal Melba Street shooting
LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – The Longview Police Department has arrested a 28-year-old man for murder in connection to a fatal shooting that happened on Melba Street on Saturday. Lufkin Police investigating death of man found on train tracks Longview PD said officers were sent to the 200 block of Melba Street at around 9:18 p.m. on Saturday to respond to a reported shooting. According to a Longview PD press release, officers found a man at the scene who had been shot. The victim, identified as Isaiah Ross of Longview, was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators then identified a suspect and got an arrest warrant. According to Longview PD, Dominique Johnson, 28 of Longview, was then arrested in Kilgore by the Kilgore Police Department. Lakeport unveils first ever city park
LAKEPORT, Texas (KETK) – The City of Lakeport in Gregg County opened up the first city park in their history on Saturday. Annual CAST for Kids brings fun fishing back to Lake Gladewater Lakeport is a city to the southeast of Longview in Gregg County that was founded in 1965. Ever since then, they've never had a city park. Their new park cost around $500,000 to build and is located at 207 Milam Road, near the City Government Building on Estes Parkway. 'We want the whole community to be involved. And they are here, the community is here,' said Lakeport mayor Johnny Simmons. 'We got people in the surrounding area, not only from the city of Lakeport but the surrounding area to support this, this effort and things are great right now.' Search underway for missing juvenile at Hideaway Lake
HIDEAWAY LAKE, Texas (KETK) – Law enforcement is currently looking for a 13 to 14-year-old juvenile who went missing at Hideaway Lake on Friday night. Longview man located by Gregg County officials The juvenile was swimming with friends in Hideaway Lake when he got separated from his friends, according to Smith County Emergency Services District 2.
