Justin Bieber Wasn't Melting Down — He Was Locked In

In between standing on business in paparazzi clashes and dodging endless rumors about his personal life, it turns out Justin Bieber was busy in the studio, making a genuinely interesting album. Swag is full of well-chosen collaborators — Gunna, Sexyy Red, Cash Cobain, Lil B, Dijon — confessional lyrics, and even surprisingly self-aware skits recorded with Druski. More from Rolling Stone Travis Scott's 'Jackboys 2' Tops Albums Chart The Sabrina Carpenter You Don't Know Justin Bieber Finally Had '100% Creative Freedom' on 'Swag' After Scooter Braun Split: Source In the new episode of our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, we break down the last few years of Bieber's life and career, with Jeff Ihaza (who wrote a smart piece on Bieber's cultural savvy) and Brittany Spanos joining host Brian Hiatt. (To hear the whole episode, go here for the podcast provider of your choice, listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, or just press play above.) The discussion notes that Bieber stepped off the pop treadmill after the endless work of his younger years — Swag is only his third album of the past 10 years. It's also a welcome throwback to an era where male pop stars drew from R&B instead of, say, soft rock. The panel goes on to dig into Bieber's enduring influence — stars like Billie Eilish worship him, and he still carries weight as 'a cool white boy,' as Ihaza puts it, in hip-hop and R&B. Justin Bieber releases first new album in 4 years

In a move that surprised and delighted fans, Justin Bieber released his seventh album, 'Swag', today. (EPA Images pic) MONTREAL : Canadian superstar Justin Bieber released his seventh album, 'Swag', today just hours after sharing a sneak peek of it on social media. The 21-track LP was released in a surprise drop and sees the singer reflect on his experiences as a husband and father, following online speculation around his marriage to wife Hailey Bieber. It comes after the 31-year-old began to post teasers on Instagram last night as mysterious billboards were put up in locations around the world, with the new album described as 'some of his most personal music yet'. In May this year, Hailey, daughter of US actor Stephen Baldwin, told Vogue that postpartum life had been 'very difficult' describing constant internet rumours as a 'crazy life to live'. She said giving birth to their son Jack Blues Bieber last August was one of the 'hardest things' she has ever done after going through an 18-hour labour. The couple has been married since 2018. Track titles on the new record include 'Therapy Session', 'Dadz Love', and 'Devotion'. The project marks the return of the 31-year-old singer more than three years after his last single, 'Honest', a duet with Don Toliver. His previous album, 'Justice,' was released in 2021. Bieber has collaborated with US rappers Gunna, Lil B, and Cash Cobain, among others, on this seventh album. He posted a video on his Instagram account yesterday showing the track list for 'Swag' on a large screen in Times Square in New York City. Posters also appeared this week in Reykjavik, Iceland, where US media said Bieber finalised the album in April. Bieber's comeback follows a period marked by the singer's withdrawal from media. His fans, known as 'Beliebers', had been hoping for a new album for several months. In 2022, Bieber was forced to cancel the remainder of his world tour – 82 of 131 scheduled concerts – after revealing he suffered from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a neurological disorder that partially paralysed his face. The hashtag #SWAGOUTNOW was among the top global trends on X a few hours after the album's release, underscoring fans' excitement. Bieber rose to prominence in 2010 at just 15 years old with the global hit 'Baby', becoming a teen pop star before turning to R&B.

Justin Bieber Releasing New Album on Friday: Fans 'Did Not See This Coming' originally appeared on Parade. Beliebers will finally be getting new music from Justin Bieber. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday morning, the 31-year-old singer will be releasing his seventh studio album on Friday. The album is rumored to be called Swag because of billboards spotted in Iceland and Los Angeles. Features on the album will include rappers Gunna, Sexyy Red and Cash Cobain, each of whom the Canadian singer has shouted out on social media in the past few months. This will be his first studio album since Justice, which was released in 2021. Many people have been speculating that Bieber was going to release new music sometime in the near future because of a photo dump posted to Instagram on June 30, which showed him working in a studio. But on Thursday in the early afternoon, Bieber himself confirmed the reports through multiple social media posts, including the tracklist and billboard pictures posted on his Instagram. The new album will have 20 new songs. When reports circulated around social media and the "Yummy" singer posted multiple photos confirming the release, the Internet freaked out.
