Gwyneth Paltrow's Biography Reveals That She Was Bummed About Her Ex Brad Pitt Marrying Jennifer Aniston: ‘He's Dumber Than…'

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt's relationship made headlines in the late 90s. While the couple dated for a brief period of time and parted ways in 1997, the actress still had strong feelings for the actor and was bummed over the Fight Club star tying the knot with Jennifer Aniston. In the upcoming Gwyneth: The Biography, the writer, Amy Odell, revealed that the Ironman actress had a mournful reaction to Pitt's marriage in 2000. However, the movie star never voiced her true feelings in the public domain. Gwyneth Paltrow was upset over Brad Pitt marrying Jennifer Aniston While fans of Brad Pitt and the Friends actress were excited to witness the duo marrying in 2000, Paltrow's feelings weren't mutual. Back in the day, when a reporter asked the actress about the celebrity wedding happening in the city, the Marvel star quipped, 'Are you really asking me this question? I can't comment on this kind of thing.' Though the actress ignored the question in media, she later confided in a friend and allegedly told them that Pitt 'has terrible taste in women.' As for the F1 star 's marriage to Aniston, the duo got engaged in 1999, and wedded a year later. Though they were one of the most adored couples in Hollywood, the pair parted ways five years later. Odell, further in the Biography recalls Paltrow's meeting with Aerin Lauder. During a business meeting dinner, the actress confided in the latter and went on to describe Pitt as 'dumber than a sack of s–t.' Opening up about the contrasting worlds of Paltrow and Pitt, the author mentioned, 'He was brought up very religious, in Missouri.' Odell further added, 'It's just a very different world from hers, growing up in Manhattan, going to [elite private school] Spence. I think she thought he wasn't sophisticated enough for her. She thought she was smarter, better educated, and more sophisticated.' Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt went on to date each other in 1994, after working together in the horror classic Se7en. The former partners got engaged in 1996, and split up a year later.

Ben Affleck And Gwyneth Paltrow Relationship Details In New Book

This post contains brief discussions of alcohol addiction. Thinking about it today, Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow might seem like an oddly matched couple, but in the '90s, they were pretty loved up. In late 1997, a few months after her split from Brad Pitt, Gwyneth met a guy named Ben at a Miramax party. Ben was on the rise at the time, preparing to release Good Will Hunting, and he and Gwyneth hit it off. The pair dated on and off for three years before splitting in 2000. If there's one thing we know about Gwyneth, it's that she's pretty good at maintaining good relationships with her exes, which seems to be the case with her and Ben. In 2015, she told Howard Stern that he's 'super intelligent and really, really talented,' but that their relationship didn't work out because 'he wasn't in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend.' Now, thanks to some newly released excerpts from a forthcoming biography all about Gwyneth's life and career, we have some new insight into the struggles that these two faced during their romance. In the new book, Gwyneth: The Biography, author Amy Odell writes that though Gwyneth and Ben were a good intellectual match, the Gone Girl star had 'demons.' 'Affleck was struggling with alcoholism and a gambling habit around the time he met Gwyneth,' she alleges. 'Her friends had reservations about him because he didn't always reciprocate her affection. He at times seemed more interested in playing video games with the guys at his house than being with Gwyneth.' Despite this, Gwyneth and Ben apparently had great sexual chemistry, and she 'spoke openly about how much she enjoyed their sex life.' 'She told [her friend makeup artist Kevyn] Aucoin one day that she loved when Affleck [engaged in a certain sex act],' Odell writes in the book. This kinda tracks, given that Gwyneth said on the Call Her Daddy podcast in 2023 that Ben was 'technically excellent' in bed… However, no amount of physical chemistry could outweigh 'his self-destructive impulses,' the book suggests, 'which may have even included cheating on her.' They split in 1998, shortly after the opening of their movie, Shakespeare in Love, which won Gwyneth an Oscar for Best Actress in 1999. Ben and Gwyneth did get back together for a while, although the relationship was apparently strained in October 2000 when 'Affleck's addiction issues resurfaced,' causing them to split for good. 'While he had been turning to alcohol, she was practicing Ashtanga yoga six times a week, meditating daily, and watching her diet,' Odell writes. Ben has talked openly about his past struggles with alcohol misuse, and first went to rehab for alcoholism in 2001. He sought treatment for alcohol addiction on subsequent occasions in 2017 and 2018, and is now happily sober. As for his love life, Ben was engaged to Jennifer Lopez from 2002 to 2004, and after their split, he married Jennifer Garner in 2005. He and Jen Garner welcomed three children during their marriage, before separating in 2015. In 2021, he got back together with and they tied the knot in 2022. However, they ultimately got divorced after just over two years of marriage in 2024. Meanwhile, Gwyneth met Chris Martin in 2002, and the pair were married by the following year. Chris and Gwyneth welcomed two children together, Apple and Moses, before announcing their split (or 'conscious uncoupling') in March 2014. Today, she is married to Brad Falchuk, whom she began dating in 2014. Gwyneth: The Biography by Amy Odell hits shelves on July 29 and is available for pre-order here. It was after Gwyneth was cast in the movie adaptation of Jane Austen's book Emma in 1996 that she is said to have admitted to having doubts about their relationship. It's claimed famed designer Ralph became 'frustrated' after Gwyneth lost weight and came close to refusing to send the dress to Los Angeles for the fitting. That brand, Odell claims, is now being handed down to Gywneth and Chris' daughter Apple — who is studying Law, History, and Society at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. It is claimed Apple has a 'genuine interest' in the brand. Gwyneth's agent Richard Lovett says: 'She's not going to be the next [Gwyneth], but she will be the original Apple.' New book shares details on Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna rift

Gwyneth Paltrow allegedly ended her friendship with Madonna following an unexpected dinner on vacation. The Goop founder was on holiday on an unnamed island with then-husband Chris Martin when the 'Material Girl' singer unexpectedly "showed up", and insisted the couple join her for a group meal, only for the pair to be left horrified when she allegedly "went off" on her eldest daughter Lourdes, now 28. In an excerpt from Amy Odell's upcoming book Gwyneth: The Biography obtained by People magazine, the author wrote: "[A few years after son Moses birth], Gwyneth's friendship with longtime pal Madonna crumbled. "Their relationship reached a breaking point when Madonna showed up to an island where Gwyneth and Martin were vacationing. Madonna seemed to know that Gwyneth would be there, which Gwyneth seemed to find strange, a friend remembered. "Madonna then insisted Gwyneth and Martin join her for a big group dinner at a long table where Madonna went off on her daughter, Lourdes. Gwyneth and Martin were disgusted by the behaviour. "'I can't be around this woman anymore,' Martin told Gwyneth. 'She's awful.' "Gwyneth agreed that Madonna was toxic and ended the friendship." The book claimed friends were surprised when Gwyneth and the Coldplay frontman - who are parents to Apple, 21, and 19-year-old Moses - got together. Amy wrote: "Devastated by her father's death from oral cancer in 2002, she found solace in dating Coldplay rock star Chris Martin and hoped to start a family. "Both aspired to some kind of soulful, intellectual seriousness at a moment when their work was pulling them toward mass appeal and triviality. Yet her friends felt like something didn't quite click. "Martin was an introvert who could be socially awkward. But he was incredible onstage, and Gwyneth, who was ready to settle down, was seduced by his persona. " Gwyneth, 52, and Madonna, 66, became friends in the late 1990s but it has long been speculated they had fallen out, and hadn't been photographed together since 2010. Back in 2006, the Shakespeare in Love star - who is now married to Brad Falchuck - gushed about Madonna: 'Everything I have gone through, she went through ten times worse and ten times longer. "She gives me good advice about how to say no and take care of myself.' But four years later, she suggested things weren't smooth in their friendship anymore as she discussed personal trainer Tracy Anderson. She told Britain's Vogue magazine: 'Yeah, it's good that [Tracy] doesn't train Madonna any more. It was too much. 'She keeps people waiting — it takes up your whole day.'
