Tom Felton is set to slither back into his wizard role of Draco Malfoy, a role he was originally cast for back in 2001 when he was just 14. The stage play spin-off features the characters later in life. Tom said of the New York shows: 'It's surreal to be stepping back into his shoes - and of course his iconic platinum blond hair - and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. "This will be a full-circle moment, because when I begin this autumn, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play.' The hit play, which is an epilogue to the famous wizard's story, following on from the end of the book series, opened in London's West End in 2016 before transferring stateside two years later. It is the highest-grossing non-musical play in Broadway's history, and has sold over 10 million birefs worldwide since its UK premiere. As well as New York, it currently has shows running in Tokyo, London, and Hamburg. Fenton will play the role at NYC's Lyric Theatre for 19 weeks from November 11. The English actor starred opposite Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson on screen in the film franchise from 2001 to 2011. Now, he will become the first of the original film cast to join a stage show, set 19 years in the future from the end of the book, with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco sending their kids to Hogwarts. Julia Hartley-Brewer stands with JK Rowling The actor also posted a teaser clip to his Instagram account, where he returns to Draco's iconic blonde locks and robes, reaches for his wooden wand before menacingly asks: "Scared, Potter?" A caption then reads: "Draco is back." The producers of Broadway production, Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, said in a joint statement they could not wait to see Felton perform: "once again with the same depth, gravity, and humanity he has always brought to Draco". "It's not lost on us that this is a cultural moment charged with nostalgia, evolution, and emotion. "Tom's return to Hogwarts bridges generations of fans and breathes new life into a beloved story. "We're beyond thrilled to welcome Tom back 'home' but also into a new family: our Broadway company." Tickets for Fenton's show will go on general sale on June 12, with a presale starting two days earlier. We told last week how a Scottish youngster has been chosen to play Harry Potter in HBO's TV adaptation of the famous book series. Producers have cast screen newcomers Dominic McLaughlin in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. 5 Iconic Harry Potter star reprises role 14 years after film series ended – Tom Felton, Draco Malfoy

Miriam said she is convinced her life expectancy is around five or six years as she shared a new update. The TV star said: "When you know that you haven't got long to live – and I'm probably going to die within the next five or six years, if not before, I'm loath to leave behind performing. It's such a joy." "I yearn to play roles that don't confine me to wheelchairs, but I'm just not strong enough," she added in a new interview with The Times. Advertisement Miriam previously opened up about her health issues on the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware. She said: "I've got a cow's heart now. Well, not the whole heart. I've had an aortic valve replaced by a cow's aortic valve." When singer Jessie asked if that was quite a common thing, Miriam joked: "I think it's rather refined, actually!" She continued: "I don't know how common it is. I'd never heard of that operation. But it saves you from having open heart surgery, which would be infinitely more invasive." Advertisement Miriam went on to explain the incredible technique doctors used to perform the operation. She revealed: "They made two little holes in your groin. One in each groin and then they shoved this thing through. Harry Potter cast in bitter feud as Hogwarts actors slams 'derogatory comments' made by huge co-star "And I don't know how they pull it up but they sort of pull it up with stereos. And then when it comes to the point, when it's in your heart, they pull a little string and it goes pow! "And lo and behold, your artery or your aortic valve is shoved unceremoniously to the side." Advertisement Miriam sparked concern back in May 2023 when she was rushed to hospital with a chest infection. She updated fans on social media with a snap of her on the ward. Sharing a photo of her in a hospital gown from her bed, she said: "Thanks to my precious friends who thought of me on Tavi Day. I did survive and I am still in The Royal Brompton Hospital certainly till Sunday. "I am growing energy but it's still not quite me." You just think about your next f*** basically. I think about death a lot." 5 Miriam had procedure called transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in 2023 Credit: Facebook / Miriam Margolyes 5 The star revealed she now has a 'cow's heart' after having major surgery Credit: Alamy
