VHP suspects PFI hand behind murder

MANGALURU: Suspecting the role of banned Popular Front of India (PFI) behind the murder of Hindu activist and rowdy-sheeter Suhas Shetty, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Jagran Vedike (HJV) on Monday reiterated their demand for an NIA probe into the case. At a press conference, HJV prantha pramukh KT Ullas and VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell claimed that there are a lot of similarities in the modus operandi of the murders carried out by PFI and that of Shetty, and it does not appear he was killed to avenge Mohammed Fazil's murder. 'There is some big force and funding behind it. We strongly suspect the role of PFI behind this targeted killing,' Ullas said. Comparing the murders of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru and Shetty, he said the former was killed a few days after the murder of Masood B just like Shetty's murder after Ashraf's killing in Kudupu. The CCTV footage shows that the assailants were not in a hurry and the way the locals behaved indicates that it was a planned murder, he said.

VHP, HJV allege PFI hand in Suhas Shetty murder

Mangaluru: Expressing deep concerns about the involvement of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in the killing of Hindutva activist and rowdy-sheeter Suhas Shetty, both Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Jagran Vedike (HJV) reiterated their demand on Monday for an NIA investigation to uncover the facts surrounding the incident. HJV Prantha Pramukh KT Ullas and VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell told reporters on Monday that many similarities were found between the modus operandi of murders carried out by PFI and that of Shetty. "There is some big force and funding behind it. We strongly suspect the role of PFI behind this targeted killing," Ullas alleged. The murder does not seem to be a retaliatory act for Mohammed Fazil's death. A substantial organisation with significant financial backing appears to be involved. The PFI seems to have orchestrated this calculated assassination. The CCTV footage of Suhas's murder shows that the assailants were not in a hurry, and how the locals were found at the scene of the crime indicates that it was a planned murder, said Ullas. He suspected the role of Mustafa and Kabir, who were accused in the Prashanth Poojary murder case, in Suhas Shetty's murder. He raised suspicion over Naushad, an accused in the Sukhananda Shetty murder case, funding the murder. Safwan, an accused in the Suhas Shetty murder case, was a tenant in the house of a PFI member, he alleged. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Google Brain Co-Founder Andrew Ng, Recommends: Read These 5 Books And Turn Your Life Around Blinkist: Andrew Ng's Reading List Undo Ullas also raised suspicion over a police constable having tipped the assailants about Suhas's movements. Suhas's friends and mother also complained that he was harassed by the constable with repeated phone calls. Police also allegedly told Suhas not to carry any tools in his vehicle, he said. On the involvement of Ranjith and Nagaraj in the Suhas Shetty murder, Ullas said that they have no criminal antecedents. "The assailants involved two Hindus in the crime only to divert the investigation's direction," he added.

HJV demands NIA probe in Suhas Shetty murder

Stating that Karnataka State Police are not incompetent to probe the Suhas Shetty murder, the Hindu Jagarana Vedike said the political leadership does not allow the force to go to the root of the issue and eliminate internal terrorism. Therefore, the HJV, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other like-minded organisations want a thorough probe by the National Investigation Agency to bring out the role of banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in the Suhas Shetty murder. By looking at the modus operandi of the assailants, there is no doubt that it was funded and executed by the PFI, HJV State unit president K. T. Ullas told reporters in Mangaluru on May 5. Alleging that two of the PFI activists accused in the 2015 murder of Prashanth Poojary at Moodbidri were present at the scene of crime in Bajpe, Mr. Ullas said the way the assailants left the place without any hurry, and escorted by two women, indicated that they had support from the local people. Two Hindus from Kalasa were involved in the murder just to negate the communal angle, he said adding inquiry by HJV in Kalasa revealed that the two did not have any rivalry against Suhas Shetty. 'Of late, PFI was learnt to have adopted a strategy to involve a few Hindus on payment while executing its terror agenda to divert attention of the people from its real mission,' Mr. Ullas alleged. 'Suhas Shetty's murder was not just a revenge killing, as claimed by the police, he claimed. 'There is a larger conspiracy behind the murder, to cause communal unrest in the region. Prime accused Abdul Safwan was a tenant of a PFI activist,' he added.
