National Month Launch In Muar To Ignite Patriotic Spirit

By Kamarul Halim Kamal JOHOR BAHRU, July 25 (Bernama) -- The launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign is more than a symbolic event — it is a meaningful platform to cultivate, strengthen and inspire the spirit of patriotism among Malaysians. Information Department (JaPen) director-general Julina Johan said this year's event, to be held at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, this Sunday, takes a people-focused approach, in line with the theme of the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2025 Celebration, namely 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni'. 'Among the community-based programmes are the Bakti Komuniti MADANI at Taman Tun Sulaiman Ninam Shah on July 26, the 6.8-km Merdeka Fun Run & Walk and flagging off the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy on July 27 at Dataran Tanjung Emas. "The 2025 MADANI Community Retreat will be held at the Bistari Mini Stadium in Ayer Keroh, Melaka on July 26," she told Bernama. She said Muar was chosen, among other reasons, for its rich historical and cultural heritage — including traditional art forms such as zapin, ghazal and kuda kepang — in the district also known as Bandar Maharani Bandar Diraja, which borders Melaka and is about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Johor Bahru. "All these elements also promote the identity of Johor and enhance the visitor experience in a patriotic and people-friendly atmosphere," she said. According to Julina, the events will not only strengthen the patriotic spirit but also connect the people of Johor with the national narrative, while raising awareness, sensitivity, and commitment towards maintaining the country's harmony, progress, and independence. -- BERNAMA
