Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters is getting a short sing-along run in theaters, which means fans can belt out the film's catchy songs with a real-life crowd. Let's just hope there aren't any demons lurking around. The Netflix film premiered on June 20 and follows superstars and covert demon hunters Rumi, Mira and Zoey. The trio, also known as the girl-group HUNTR/X, gains a new rival in the secretly supernatural Saja Boys. KPop Demon Hunters Get Golden News As Special UK Screenings Are Announced

Time to warm up those vocal cords, because KPop Demon Hunters is about to hit cinemas as part of a very special release. If you've had the soundtrack on repeat since watching the animated K-pop fantasy film on Netflix, HUNTR/X and Saja Boys fans will now have the chance to not only see the movie on the big screen, but belt out all the songs to your heart's content at a singalong screening. Netflix has announced it will be hosting a series of these screenings across the UK over the Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August, which follows the announcement of similar events in the US and Canada (more information can be found here). The animated musical adventure follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey who use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect fans from a supernatural threat, which shows up in a rival boy band of demons in disguise. Since its release in mid-June, KPop Demon Hunters has not only remained hovering around the top of Netflix UK's most-watched films (it's in the number one spot at the time of writing), but it has also been crowned the most popular Netflix animated movie of all time, along with becoming the first original animated movie to enter the Most Popular Movies List (English). The soundtrack, meanwhile, has dominated the charts, with breakout track Golden by Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami hitting the number one spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK Official Singles Chart. Golden's rise to the top of the UK charts made it the first K-pop number one in 13 years, following PSY's Gangnam Style in 2012. It's also the first time a song from an animated movie has hit number one since We Don't Talk About Bruno from the Encanto soundtrack three years ago. And Golden isn't the only song fans can't stop streaming, as Soda Pop and Your Idol are still in the UK top 10. 'KPop Demon Hunters' Smash 'Golden' by Huntr/x Tops Billboard Hot 100

KPop Demon Hunters just went up, up, up to the top of the Billboard charts. 'Golden' by HUNTR/X soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the fictional group's first chart-topper and a historic moment as the first K-Pop girl group to reach the milestone, per Billboard. During the tracking week of August 1-7, 'Golden' racked up 31.7 million official streams, 8.4 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 7,000 copies in the U.S. The track, sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami for the soundtrack to Netflix's smash animated film, also becomes the ninth song associated with K-Pop to reach the top spot of the Hot 100. The newly minted hit was preceded by 'Seven' by Jung Kook (featuring Latto), 'Like Crazy' by Jimin, along with BTS singles 'Dynamite,' 'Life Goes On,' 'Butter,' 'Permission to Dance,' and collaborations 'Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)' with Jawsh 685 and Jason DeRulo plus 'My Universe' with Coldplay. 'Golden' is also the first No. 1 from a fictional act since 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' from Disney's Encanto in 2022, and the first by an all-women collective since Destiny's Child's 'Bootylicious' in 2001. Meanwhile, the film's in-universe rivals, the Saja Boys, climbed up to the Hot 100 with 'Your Idol,' performed by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, and Samuil Lee. Netflix confirmed last month that KPop Demon Hunters is now the streamer's most-watched original animated film ever, amassing roughly 132.4 million views since its release on June 20, and surpassing 2023's Leo starring Adam Sandler.
