Metallica want to play Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show in San Francisco
Metallica are interested in performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2026, according to drummer Lars Ulrich. The 61-year-old musician has revealed that the Enter Sandman rockers would love to play in the coveted slot with next year's NFL showpiece being staged in their San Francisco base. Asked about the possibility on Sirius XM's The Howard Stern Show, Lars said: "F*** yeah, of course we would. "First of all we would do it. Second of all to do it in San Francisco would be a dream come true and would be the right fit... Certainly as somebody who's represented San Francisco all over the world and shouted for decades about San Francisco and our love for the Bay Area, that part of it is the right fit. Ultimately it's not our decision." Metallica are said to be in talks to stage a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in 2026 and Lars did not deny the reports when questioned. The Danish drummer said: "I'm not going to confirm anything, because there's nothing to confirm. But I'm not going to deny it, because we're all such fans of this venue. "All of our manager and our production people have been there and looked at it. It's something that we're considering, (but) nothing is etched in stone or green-lit. It's something that we're looking at at some point when the 2026 tour is done." Ulrich continued: "I would f****** love to do it, let there be no question about it. It's not signed, sealed and delivered, but speaking to me and asking my opinion, I would f****** love to do it." Metallica's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed recently that the Nothing Else Matters band would love to stage a "crazy experience" at the venue in Sin City, which is renowned for its immersive video and audio capabilities. Quizzed about the prospect, he told The Hollywood Reporter: "Oh, heck, yeah! That's a great example of how venues are changing. That's using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience." Metallica have embraced developments in technology - appearing in the video game Fortnite and staging an immersive concert with Apple Vision Pro in recent years - and Kirk warned that other artists risk being "exploited" if they do not adapt with the times. The 62-year-old rocker said: "The formats and venues just keep on coming. Ten years ago, I didn't know we would be characters in a Fortnite game or that Apple would create VR headsets that can bring you literally right in front of the performer or the athlete. We didn't see any of this coming. "It's important to pay attention to all this stuff, because if you don't apply yourself in a responsible fashion, someone else is going to do it for you, and you're going to be on the exploited end. If you're not paying attention, then stuff like Napster happens. It's not for me to say, but that's something to ponder."

Beyonce and Jay-Z to COMPETE against each other for an Emmy after Grammys controversy
Beyonce and husband Jay-Z are set to go head-to-head as they compete for an Emmy after receiving nominations in the same category. The A-list couple - who tied the knot in 2008 - garnered nods for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) as the nominees were officially announced on Tuesday ahead of the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14. The Crazy In Love songstress, 43, was nominated for her NFL Halftime Show called the Beyonce Bowl which aired on Netflix on Christmas Day. And the Empire State Of Mind rapper landed a spot in the same category for being an executive producer for Kendrick Lamar 's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February. It comes one year after Jay-Z called out the Recording Academy over his wife not winning Album of the Year, despite having 'more Grammys than everyone.' Beyonce also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for her Beyonce Bowl. Her halftime performance aired live on Netflix on Christmas Day as the Houston Texans took on the Baltimore Ravens. The beauty belted out tunes from her Cowboy Carter album - and at one point was also joined by her eldest child Blue Ivy. The Beyonce Bowl broke a number of records, and became the most-watched NFL game since 2001. During her performance alone, 27 million viewers tuned in to watch and 10 days afterwards, it was revealed that an additional 50 million viewers watched the special on the streaming site. Her halftime show was also released on Netflix as a stand-alone special two days later - which spanned over the course of around 20 minutes. Jay-Z was also one of the executive producers for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show which Kendrick Lamar headlined earlier this year in February. The anticipated match took place in New Orleans and saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. The halftime show also broke records and became the most-watched with 133.5 million viewers, per Billboard. The record had been announced by Apple Music, NFL and also Roc Nation only days after the game. Over on Instagram, the companies issued a statement which read: 'We've broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 Million viewers.' Beyonce Bowl also received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Choreography. Kendrick Lamar's halftime show also garnered nods for Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Music Production and Outstanding Choreography. Beyonce and Jay-Z competing for the same award comes a little over one year since the rapper called out the Grammys over his wife not winning Album of the Year. He made the public comment to the crowd as he accepted the 2024 Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. At one point, the performer expressed: 'I'm just saying we want you to get it right. We love y'all. We want you to get it right, at least get it close to right. 'And obviously it's subjective - you don't have to clap at everything - because it's music and it's opinion-based.' Jay-Z then added, 'I don't want to embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year so even by your own metrics that doesn't work. 'Think about that. The most Grammys, never won Album of the Year. That doesn't work. 'Some of you going to go home tonight and think you've been robbed. Some of you may get robbed, some of you don't belong in the category. When I get nervous, I tell the truth. He then shared, 'But outside of that, we got to keep showing up - and forget the Grammys for a second, just in life.' Beyonce had notably been sitting in the audience during her husband's speech and held an apprehensive expression on her face. However, earlier this year in February during the 2025 Grammy Awards, the songstress finally scored her first Album of the Year win for Cowboy Carter. The 77th Annual Emmy Awards are to set to take place in Los Angeles on September 14 - with Nick Bargatze taking on hosting duties. Beyonce has been keeping busy as she is currently embarking on her Cowboy Carter Tour. The star recently made a major change to her Cowboy Carter tour just weeks after the singer was left hanging midair during a terrifying stunt. She took to the stage in Atlanta last week on Thursday where she debuted a mechanical gold horse which she rode inside the Mercedes- Benz Stadium. Up until last month, she had ridden on a red Cadillac convertible which would suspend over the crowd - but the prop began to suddenly tilt amid her June 28 concert in Houston which caused the singer to abruptly stop the show. However, Beyonce has since made the slight alteration to her tour last week with the flying gold horse. She notably sits on the prop as it soars through the air while belting out her country track 16 Carriages. It is not the first time that the songstress has used a horse as a prop while performing on stage. Back in 2023 during her Renaissance Tour, Beyonce used a sparkling silver horse - which mimicked her Renaissance album cover. The songstress kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour earlier this year in April - and is in support of her eighth studio album of the same name which was released in 2024. She performed two additional dates in Atlanta on Sunday, July 13 and the following Monday on July 14. The Crazy In Love hitmaker will travel to Las Vegas later this month where the tour will conclude on July 26 at Allegiant Stadium. It was also reported that Beyonce's unreleased music was stolen during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta on July 8. The incident occurred when a suspect stole a hard drive containing the unleased music from a motor vehicle - and an arrest warrant his since been issued.

Country star under fire for blasting Beyonce in foul-mouthed tirade after she beat him on the charts
Beyonce has been slammed by up-and-coming country artist Gavin Adcock over her credentials as a country artist. In a foul-mouthed tirade this week, Adcock, 26, unleashed on the Texas Hold 'Em hitmaker during one of his concerts, claiming that she wasn't a real country singer. His rant seemed to be spurred on by her album Cowboy Carter ranking higher than his debut, titled My Own Worst Enemy, on Apple Music's Country chart. Cowboy Carter was ranking at No. 3 on the chart, while Adcock's record was one spot behind at No. 4. Discussing the albums that were beating his on the chart, Adcock said, 'One of them's Beyoncé — you can tell her we're coming for her f***ing a**!' 'That s**t ain't country music and it ain't ever been country music, and it ain't gonna be country music,' he continued while raising a bottle of booze to the crowd. In a follow-up video on Instagram, Adcock complimented Beyonce by calling her 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show 'pretty kicka** back in the day', before doubling down and stating that her album 'shouldn't be labeled as country music'. 'It doesn't sound country, it doesn't feel country,' he continued. 'I just don't think that people who have dedicated their whole lives to this genre and this lifestyle should have to compete or just watch that album stay at the top just because she's Beyonce.' The video was flooded with comments from enraged Beyonce fans, with some accusing Adcock of benefiting from white privilege. 'Sounds about [white], when y'all can't compete, y'all try to exclude, that's the MO,' wrote one. 'Post Malone did the same thing she did, what's the difference?' asked another. 'Black folks didn't say things like this about Sam Smith, Adele, Pink, Eminem, Paul Wall, Bubba Sparks, Post Malone and all the ones before them when they hit the R&B and rap charts. Why all the hate?' a third commented. A fourth wrote, 'Is she not an artist? Can she not make the music? What's the difference between white artists making 'hip hop' that is nothing but pop music with 808s in it? They get to take over the charts but the moment a black person crosses over and does it it's an issue.' Beyonce's Cowboy Carter album has divided music fans since its release last year. The critically-acclaimed project won Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards, but was completely snubbed at country-centric awards shows like the CMAs and ACMAs. Meanwhile, Adcock previously spent the night in the Oconee County Jail after being put in handcuffs on Interstate 40 for violating the open container of alcohol law and reckless driving. The 26-year-old country crooner - who's famed for shotgunning beers - was arrested in May 11:15pm by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. After five hours, Gavin posted $1K bond upon his release Thursday at 4:34am. Just one month prior, the Back to this Bar singer shared a video of himself responding to criticism that he drinks too much, saying 'God forbid I have hobbies.' On Gavin's new single On One, he sings: 'I didn't grab the bottle, yeah, the bottle grabbed me / I'll be riding this train till the sun starts to creep / Gotta woman of the night hanging onto my hip / Gotta Miller in her hand and a smoke on her lip.' On his 2024 track Sober, he repeatedly sings the line in the chorus: 'Whoa, I don't wanna be sober.' 'Take a left right over the tracks, we're gettin' drunk tonight,' Adcock's lyrics read. 'The horses left stables, there's bloodshot in my eyes / Woman gone, I need Patron and the spirit under the neon light / So take a left right over the tracks, we're gettin' drunk tonight.' And it wasn't the Georgia native's first brush with the law as he tweeted about a prior arrest in 2023: 'Went to jail one time because of a suspended license, sat in there for 10 hours and made friends with my cell mates.'
