Rising GOP star takes victory lap after Trump DOJ rolls back massive Biden anti-police push: 'Promise kept'
FIRST ON FOX: Arizona GOP Congressman Abe Hamadeh took a victory lap on Wednesday as the Trump Justice Department announced it would dismiss the Biden administration's "last minute" lawsuits against several police departments, including Phoenix. "Promise made. Promise kept," Hamadeh told Fox News Digital in a statement after his efforts to end DOJ weaponization against police departments, largely stemming from the George Floyd riots in 2020, came to fruition on Wednesday via an announcement from DOJ. The DOJ announced on Wednesday it is scaling back "pattern and practice" probes that became prevalent under former AG Merrick Garland and were slammed by critics who argued the effort was politically motivated and impeded police officers from doing their jobs. "Today, we are ending the Biden Civil Rights Division's failed experiment of handcuffing local leaders and police departments with factually unjustified consent decrees," Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon said as the Department of Justice made the announcement. 'Defund The Police' Mecca Of Minneapolis Overrun With Violence, 'Failed Leadership': Former Ag Candidate "I promised our law enforcement officers before taking office that I would end the weaponization of our judicial system and work with President Trump's Department of Justice to undo the damage wrought by the Biden Administration." Read On The Fox News App The Phoenix Police Department was the target of one of those oversight investigations in 2024 when Biden's DOJ released a report alleging Civil Rights violations and claimed the department was discriminating against minorities and using excessive force. That probe has now been rejected by the Justice Department along with probes in several other jurisdictions, including Trenton, New Jersey, Memphis, Tennessee, Mount Vernon, New York, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Minneapolis and the Louisiana State Police. The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association (PPSLA) and the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) both issued statements praising Hamadeh's work on the issue. "The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association (PPSLA) is grateful to Congressman Abe Hamadeh for keeping his promise to us," PPSLA President Ben Leuschner said. "While we very much appreciate the support of everyone who advocated on our behalf, we know that Congressman Hamadeh took the fight to an important level. Today, justice was won for the residents we are sworn to protect and serve as well as our members." Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill' Wins Support From Police For Overtime Tax Elimination "We are grateful that both President Trump and Congressman Hamadeh stood with us against the Biden Administration's DOJ's flawed investigation of the Phoenix Police Department, which has already cost Phoenix taxpayers millions of dollars and left a demoralized, shrinking police force." Hamadeh has been leading efforts to push back against the Biden DOJ's established practices on oversight for police departments and recently met with FBI Director Kash Patel to "discuss the Biden Administration's targeted attacks on our men and women in blue", his office said in a press release. "I am grateful to President Trump and his team of patriotic professionals dedicated to the men and women of our local law enforcement agencies who run to the sound of danger to keep our communities safe and secure," Hamadeh said. Hamadeh added, "As I noted in my communications with Trump Administration officials, our officers did everything right, voluntarily cooperating in good faith, opening their records, and participating in lengthy interviews. They were met with stonewalling, mischaracterized testimony, and a final report riddled with glaring inaccuracies." An adviser to FBI director Patel told Fox News Digital that "Director Kash Patel has made it clear that under his leadership, the FBI stands firmly with the brave men and women who protect our communities." "Overbroad police consent decrees divest local control of policing from communities where it belongs, turning that power over to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats, often with an anti-police agenda," Dhillon said in a statement Wednesday. Fox News Digital reached out to Biden's office for comment. "We look forward to partnering with the Congressman in the future on our shared goal of keeping our communities safe."Original article source: Rising GOP star takes victory lap after Trump DOJ rolls back massive Biden anti-police push: 'Promise kept'

PM Barzani, US Congressman discuss Erbil-Washington ties
Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, Kurdish Prime Minister Masrour Barzani discussed strengthening Kurdistan-US ties with Congressman Abe Hamadeh in Washington. The meeting followed the signing of two energy agreements during Barzani's visit, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and attracting foreign capital to the Kurdistan Region. Energy remains a strategic sector for the Region, which continues to pursue independent development amid ongoing disputes with Baghdad over oil revenues and export authority. Hamadeh, a US lawmaker of Kurdish descent, called the agreements a 'positive development' for Iraq's economy and stressed the importance of sustained engagement between Washington and Erbil. Barzani then congratulated Hamadeh on his election to Congress, highlighting his support for Kurdish interests in US policymaking.

'Enough is enough': House Republican touts GOP effort to pass bill cracking down on 'rogue' judges
As House Republicans move forward with legislation this week that they say would wrangle "rogue" judges across the country who have been blocking President Trump's agenda, Fox News Digital spoke to GOP Rep. Abe Hamadeh about the importance of that quest. "If you look at what President Trump has been going through compared to previous presidents, it's unheard of," Hamadeh told Fox News Digital about the dozens of injunctions already issued against Trump since taking office. "It's unprecedented the amount of injunctions trying to stop President Trump's America First agenda, which, overwhelmingly, the American people support, and to have one district court judge be able to determine the direction of our country is not what the judiciary is meant for." The No Rogue Rulings Act (NORRA), introduced by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., would limit district court judges' ability to issue orders blocking Trump policies nationwide, and Republicans are expected to advance the legislation out of the House Rules Committee and vote this week. Gop Rep Reveals After F-16 Ride Why Trump's Leadership Is Already Paying Off For Military Hamadeh says he supports Issa's bill, which Issa told Fox News Digital when he introduced it was introduced in February, will push back on the current judge-shopping climate in the United States that he says represents "judicial tyranny" and "weaponization of courts." Read On The Fox News App Hamadeh explained that he has signed onto several efforts to impeach some of the judges who have issued nationwide injunctions, knowing that the efforts are unlikely to succeed but to send the message that the sentiment in Congress and with Trump voters is one that believes "enough is enough." One of those judges facing impeachment calls, U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg, issued an emergency order temporarily halting the Trump administration's deportation flights under the Alien Enemies Act, which Hamadeh took particular issue with. Judge Targeted By Gop For Impeachment Deals Blow To Trump's Fema Objectives "The federal bench right now has to be very careful, they're losing legitimacy constantly every single day, when you see the constant pushbacks, I mean, it's amazing," Hamadeh said. "What President Trump wants to do is deport illegal immigrants who are terrorists, who are murderers, who are rapists, and they're trying to stop that." "They're trying to keep them in our country. Well, what happened when Biden was importing so many of these illegal immigrants, literally flying them in from their countries of origin into the United States? They never weighed in on that issue. So it's shocking to see that the judiciary, sadly, has been in the way of what President Trump is trying to accomplish. but we are going to limit them, here in the House, and I'm sure it's gonna pass the Senate as well and make its way to the president's desk." Many prominent Democrats have praised Boasberg's ruling after years of either silence or indifference about the border crisis, which Hamadeh told Fox News Digital is evidence that they "don't know what they're fighting for." "Democrats are in a world of trouble, especially knowing who is on the bench and what they're actually fighting for has been really opposed to what the American people want," Hamadeh said. "We want to save communities, we want to stop fentanyl, and we want to deport these terrorists, illegals, and the rapists and murderers who have come into our country because of Joe Biden's disastrous border. I'm from Arizona. To see President Trump, literally in two months, get the border encounters to a 97% decrease, it's shocking. It's amazing to see that type of result. That's why the American people voted for President Trump. And unfortunately, you see these judges trying to stop them." The House is also expected to move forward with the SAVE Act this week, which requires proof of citizenship in the voter registration process. Fox News Digital spoke to Hamadeh about his efforts working with Republicans to push election integrity, an issue that saw a Republican victory recently when voters in Wisconsin voted to enshrine voter ID into the state's constitution. Hamadeh, along with GOP Rep. Claudia Tenney, recently introduced legislation to codify Trump's recent executive order on election integrity that mandates voter ID into law. "I want everybody to know that there's never been a disenfranchised voter because of election integrity," Hamadeh said. "Disenfranchisement is because of election fraud and President Trump is trying to prevent that." Arizona Republican questions Mark Zuckerberg over dealings with China
An Arizona Republican is urging Meta to be more transparent about its effort to win the approval of the Chinese Communist Party to implement a censored version of Facebook in the China market. Rep. Abraham Hamadeh (R-Arizona) wrote a letter dated Friday urging Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to clarify the level of oversight the company was willing to give the CCP over social media content to realize its goal of entering the Chinese market. Hamadeh was responding to a Washington Post report earlier this week about an SEC whistleblower complaint filed by Meta's former global policy director, Sarah Wynn-Williams, who alleges that the social media giant developed a censorship version of Facebook in 2015 allowing for a 'chief editor' who would decide what content to remove, or even to shut down the entire site during times of 'social unrest.' Meta didn't respond to a request for comment. Meta spokesman Andy Stone previously said in a statement that it was 'no secret' the company was interested in operating in China. 'We ultimately opted not to go through with the ideas we'd explored, which Mark Zuckerberg announced in 2019,' Stone added. Hamadeh also asked Zuckerberg to confirm whether the social media giant had suppressed content or accounts at the request of the CCP. Wynn-Williams' complaint, which was bolstered by internal documents, alleged that Meta leaders faced aggressive pressure by Chinese government officials to host Chinese users' data to local data centers and suppress the account of a Chinese political dissident living in the United States. 'The latest allegations raise urgent questions about whether Meta continues to assist foreign regimes in controlling online discourse or targeting U.S. based dissidents of the CCP and other totalitarian regimes,' Hamadeh wrote. 'Given Meta's substantial influencer over public debate and democratic processes, this matter demands immediate transparency and accountability.' Earlier this week, an emergency arbitrator temporarily prohibited Wynn-Williams from promoting her book 'Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism,' which was released this week. The arbitrator found that Wynn-Williams probably violated a non-disparagement agreement when she released the book, which offered a critical insider's look at the actions of the social media company's top executives.
