Lebanon: Hezbollah Links National Security Strategy Talks to Reconstruction Efforts
Israeli strikes targeting Hezbollah officials continued in southern Lebanon as the party maintains that discussions of its arsenal or the national security strategy hinge on several key issues, mainly the reconstruction efforts. Hezbollah continues to link any discussion of its weapons to a set of conditions, hindering the government's process for reform. Hezbollah MP Hasan Fadlallah accused the government of shunning its responsibilities, although the international community has made it clear that aid for reconstruction after Israel's war on Lebanon is contingent on the country implementing political and economic reforms, as well as ensuring that weapons are solely in the hands of the state. 'Positions made by some in the government are not only outside the bounds of the ministerial statement, but also contradict it entirely, shunning the responsibilities the government has vowed to the Lebanese people', said Fadlallah at a ceremony held by the party. He added that the parliament granted the government its vote of confidence based on the vows the government made in the ministerial statement, 'but it seems some are trying to be selective in these commitments based on personal wishes, preferences, or even foreign dictates', said the MP. Fadlallah went on to say 'the first clause of the ministerial statement commits the government to expediting the reconstruction of what the Israeli enemy has destroyed. The second clause tasks the government with bearing full responsibility for national security, protecting Lebanon's borders and entry points, and deterring aggression. The third calls for all necessary measures to liberate occupied Lebanese territories'. He questioned the government's performance and priorities saying: 'What have they done regarding these three clauses?..Has the government fulfilled its commitment to reconstruction? There are five or six provisions that need to be implemented first, after which the discussion about Lebanon's defense, that requires a comprehensive national security strategy, can be addressed.' He underscored that 'once these clauses are implemented, only then we can discuss other matters." Also, Hezbollah officials have escalated criticisms towards Prime Minister Nawaf Salam after the latter's 'decisive' statements regarding the party's disarmament. 'The relations between Hezbollah and PM Nawaf Salam remain based on what is left of goodwill and has not been severed. Channels of communication are still active', said Hezbollah bloc member Amin Sherri. Regarding the atmosphere surrounding last week's meeting between Hezbollah's Loyalty to the Resistance bloc and President Joseph Aoun, Sherri said in a radio interview that it was 'excellent and positive,' with discussions focused on key agreed-upon issues.

Hezbollah MP Slams Lebanese Ministers: Implementation of Gov't Obligations Can't Be Selective
Member of Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance MP Hasan Fadlallah slammed some ministers in the Lebanese government, noting that their remarks contradict with the ministerial statement. In an address during a local ceremony in the southern town of Zawtar Al-Sharqiya, MP Fadlallah said 'some positions we hear from members of the government aimed at evading the responsibilities they have committed to before the Lebanese people.' In this context, MP Fadlallah stressed that such responsibilities 'are the commitments on the basis of which the Lebanese government won the Parliament's confidence. 'Some of the government's members act as if the implementation of these obligations is a selective process based on what they desire, or on what is imposed on them by foreign powers' external dictates.' He explained that the ministerial statement stipulated that the Government is committed to reconstruction, defending the border and its people as well as taking all measures in order to liberate the land. 'Has the government implemented its commitments regarding reconstruction and the other two issues?' MP Fadlallah wondered. The Hezbollah lawmaker, meanwhile, called on these ministers to 'implement their commitments first.' 'We have nothing more to give, to anyone, in any way, whether in South Lebanon, or in any region. We have fulfilled our obligations at all levels.' 'The current government is obligated, according to the Constitution and legal text, to implement the provisions of the ministerial statement. We have nothing else to say. When they implement these provisions, we will talk about other matters.' Fadlallah remarks come as the Israeli enemy goes ahead with attacks on Lebanon, in violation of the ceasefire that ended the 66-day Israeli war. A Lebanese citizen was martyred at dawn on Saturday in an Israeli drone strike on his vehicle in the southern town of Deir Al-Zahrani.

MP Fadlallah: Lebanon Has Long Suffered Under Israeli Aggression, Hezbollah's Presence Remains Firm
Hezbollah's Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah asserted that Lebanon has long been a victim of Israeli aggression and US policies, enduring decades of violence, occupation, and economic devastation. Speaking at a press conference in Parliament, MP Hasan Fadlallah stated that Lebanon has long paid the price of Israeli aggression, with its people, land, and economy subjected to destruction and bloodshed well before Hezbollah was founded. He added that US support for the Israeli occupation — through funding, arms, and political cover — has made Lebanon one of the most prominent victims of successive American policies in the region. MP Fadlallah described Hezbollah as 'a movement born from the pain of the Lebanese people, committed to resisting occupation and defending national dignity.' He noted that its leaders, including the Master of Martyrs, Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, have sacrificed greatly in this struggle. He added that US hostility toward Hezbollah stems from its opposition to Israeli occupation and regional dominance. 'Despite military, political, economic, and media challenges, Hezbollah emerges stronger from each challenge, its popularity rising, and its commitment to the rights of the oppressed unwavering,' Hezbollah's MP added. Describing Hezbollah as 'an integral part of the Lebanese social and political fabric,' Fadlallah emphasized the party's democratic legitimacy as Lebanon's largest political force. He stressed that no foreign power can diminish Hezbollah's presence or influence. 'Hezbollah is dedicated to rebuilding the Lebanese state on sound foundations, protecting civil peace, and defending sovereignty. It works within constitutional and legal frameworks and has actively contributed to anti-corruption efforts and institutional reform,' he added. Fadlallah also stated that the US is shielding corrupt Lebanese officials while refusing to help trace smuggled public funds, despite being aware of illicit financial transfers during Lebanon's financial collapse. Turning to recent Israeli military actions, Fadlallah condemned ongoing violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon. He said the US, which leads the committee overseeing the agreement, has failed to uphold its commitments, allowing the Israeli enemy to continue targeting civilians with impunity. MP Fadlallah urged the Lebanese government to prioritize reconstruction, citing Iraq's upcoming Arab League summit as a key opportunity. Baghdad, he said, is ready to lead the creation of a reconstruction fund for Lebanon and Gaza and has expressed willingness to make the first contribution. He called on Lebanon to act swiftly and seize this opportunity. Addressing recent allegations of Hezbollah involvement in gold smuggling through Beirut Airport, Fadlallah categorically denied any connection. He accused certain political actors of exploiting the situation for propaganda, stating, 'These claims are baseless and part of a campaign to tarnish Hezbollah's image.' He also urged government and judicial authorities to publicly disclose all relevant details. On airport advertising controversies, he clarified that Hezbollah has always worked with licensed companies and coordinated with allies like the Amal Movement. He dismissed speculation about a policy change, stating that ad removal post-events is routine. Fadlallah reiterated Hezbollah's commitment to airport security, legal compliance, and support for state institutions. 'We want Lebanon to attract tourists and expats, and for the airport to operate under optimal conditions,' he said, warning that media manipulation only damages the national interest. Responding to US and French criticism of Hezbollah, Fadlallah lamented the Lebanese government's silence, saying it reflects 'a troubling double standard that alienates large segments of the population.' He called for balanced diplomacy that defends national sovereignty and represents all citizens equally. Regarding upcoming municipal elections in border villages, Fadlallah confirmed that the Interior Ministry is taking necessary steps to ensure safety. He expressed confidence in southern communities' strong connection to their land and their commitment to peaceful participation in the democratic process.

Moreover, mourners held the flags of the resistance and chanted slogans which underlined allegiance to its path. Member of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, Dr. Hasan Fadlallah, underlined the heavy sacrifices made by the border villages, adding that the government is now responsible for the liberation of the occupied territories and the protection of the Lebanese towns from the Zionist aggression. MP Fadlallah stressed that the fight of the border villages against the Israeli enemy has protected the entire country, adding that the enemy could have reached Baabda Palace again without that resistance. For his part, the former minister Mustafa Bayram hailed the sacrifices of the martyrs who sustained the national dignity, adding that the Resistance may never be weakened. The enemy planned to crush the resistance that steadfastly fought and made heavy sacrifices in order to confront the aggression, Bayram added. Bayram stressed that Hezbollah wants the independent government to assume its responsibilities and the Lebanese army to be powerful and fight the enemy. Head of Hezbollah Juristic Council Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek deplored the absence of the state officials from the funeral of the 130 martyrs in Aitaroun and Aita Al-Shaab. Addressing Hezbollah ceremony of receiving condolences on the martyrdom of Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine in Baalbek City, Sheikh Yazbek underscored rejection of any intention to naturalize ties with the Zionist entity at whatever cost. We will pursue the Resistance path that the master of the nation's martyrs sacrificed his blood for.
