Kym Marsh is seen departing the Coronation Street studios following fan speculation she is returning to show
Kym Marsh was seen leaving the Coronation Street studios in Manchester on Wednesday following fan speculation she might return to the show. The actress, 48, cut a casual figure in a grey hoodie and black leggings as she departed the building alongside a male pal. The former Hear'Say star wrapped up in a black padded coat and completed her outfit with a pair of white trainers. Kym played Michelle Connor on Coronation Street from 2006 to 2019, winning the British Soap Award for Best Newcomcer for the role. However, a source close to the show told us Kym has no plans to return to the soap for the time being. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The actress, 48, cut a casual figure in a grey hoodie and black leggings as she departed the building alongside a male pal Speaking to The Sun earlier this year, Kym fuelled rumours she could return to Coronation Street soon, saying she was open to a return. She said: 'I'd never say never to going back as I absolutely adore Coronation Street and I had some of my best years there. 'I learned so much on that show and I made so many friends. But I left to kind of pursue other projects and I'm still in the middle of doing that, but, maybe one day!' Michelle left the Cobbles in 2019 after discovering that her fiancé, Robert Preston, had fathered a child with Vicky Jefferies. She teamed up with Vicky to scam Robert out of the Bistro, a business they co-owned and then sold it to a mystery buyer, only to be horrified when she learned the new owner was Ray Crosby, a sleazy businessman who had previously made unwanted advances toward her. Devastated and furious, Michelle trashed the Bistro in a fit of rage before being stopped by Carla Connor. After saying emotional goodbyes to her family, including her sons Ryan and Ali, and warning them about Ray, Michelle left Weatherfield in a taxi to start a new life in Ireland with her parents. It comes after Coronation Street and Emmerdale's boss quit after 27 years with ITV. The broadcaster announced this month that Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North John Whiston is stepping down from his role at the end of the month to enjoy his retirement. With 40 years in the television industry and 27 with the channel, he is going to be missed after working on programmes such as The Chase, Vera and Heartbeat, and currently oversees the soaps. Iain MacLeod and Matt Cleary will take over the role from Jon. Announcing the news, John said: 'I've always said I've got the best job in TV. I used to say it privately in case ITV stopped paying me. 'It has been nothing short of an honour, as well as a blast, to work on the soaps this last decade or so. 'We've had joy, we've had fun and we've had seasons in the sun. 'We've also had misery and mayhem. We've had motorway crashes, tram crashes and floods. 'We've had stories which have squeezed your heart till tears came out of your eyes. 'And we've covered pretty much anything and everything that people have to face in their own lives and we've done that with care and humanity. 'And all that is down to the 600 or so people - the writers, crew, cast and editorial – who have kept the show on air and at an incredible quality day in day out. 'And it's them who have made my job ridiculously easy. Just don't tell ITV. 'With the appointment of Iain MacLeod as Creative Director and Matt Cleary as Chief Operating Officer and with fantastic stories in place for the move to five episodes a week next January, and a never-before-seen mega mash-up between the two shows, the future for our ITV Soaps is set fair. 'So it's the right time to leave and for me just to say thank you… to colleagues, to ITV and to our loyal, appreciative audience.' ain, who is currently Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, will be promoted to Creative Director. He will take on all the editorial responsibility for creating the two popular soaps.

U.S. Soccer Alex Freeman only just began his Orlando City career, but he may not be staying for long. According to The Telegraph, Serie A side Parma has made an opening offer of €2 million for the right back, who is also subject to interest from clubs in the Championship and newly promoted Premier League sides. Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland will all move up from the second tier to the Premier League for the 2025-26 season. Freeman — the son of ex-NFL star Antonio Freeman — mostly played for Orlando's reserve side before this season, which has been a breakout campaign for the 20-year-old. The 6-foot-2 defender has started 14 of Orlando's 15 games so far this season, tallying three goals and one assist while impressing with his speed and attacking ability on the right flank. Freeman's rapid rise saw him earn his first U.S. men's national team call-up last week, as Mauricio Pochettino named him to a 27-man squad for friendlies against Turkey and Switzerland. The majority of the players are also expected to make up the USMNT's Gold Cup roster. The defender signed a Homegrown contract with Orlando in 2022, taking him through 2025 with a club option for 2026.

Anumol aka Dr Rathi on Heartbeat 2: I'm bursting to share every detail with the audience
With just hours left for the premiere of the highly anticipated second season of the popular web series Heartbeat , fans are buzzing with curiosity about the latest developments at RK Hospital and what lies ahead for Dr. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Rathi and Reena. The excitement isn't limited to the audience alone — the cast is equally thrilled to bring the new season to life, especially actress Anumol, who portrays the beloved Dr. Rathi. ETimes caught up with for an exclusive glimpse into her excitement ahead of the big premiere. "When I was reading the script, with every passing scene, even though I'm part of the project, I couldn't help but feel curious about what would happen next. I know the fans are eagerly waiting for certain plot twists in the series, and I can't wait to reveal it all to them. I'm just as excited to see how they'll react to it," Anumol shares. When asked about the much-awaited storylines, including the Reena-Rathi duo and Rathi's love story, Anumol admitted with a laugh, 'Even I'm eagerly waiting for all that!' Her response only adds to the growing anticipation among fans. 'We're introducing some new characters this season. There are fresh interns joining RK Hospital, and some of our former interns have now become senior residents. As shown in the promo, Reena is back at RK Hospital, and it's going to be really interesting to see how her equation with Dr. Rathi evolves. Also, the once-hidden secret is now out in the open, so watching how they both face the world will be quite gripping. And yes, just like the fans, I keep asking the makers about Dr. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Rathi's love story too! I'm bursting to share all of this with the audience.' Speaking about the immense popularity of the series, Anumol shared her excitement over the strong connection it has built with viewers. 'The show went off-air in August, and up until yesterday, there hasn't been a single day when I didn't receive at least 10 messages online asking about the next season. Earlier, I had around 20 fan pages — now that number has skyrocketed to nearly 200, all thanks to Heartbeat and Dr. Rathi. It's not just me — every member of the cast has their own fan base now, even our director and producers have dedicated fan pages! The fans never gave me a chance to miss Heartbeat over these past months. Their videos, edits, photos, and posts have been truly overwhelming and heartwarming,' she added. Recalling one of her most cherished fan moments, Anumol spoke about an inspiring online community called ' Dr Rathi Girls' — a group formed by passionate fans of her character. 'Dr Rathi Girls is a community of young women who've been truly inspired by the character. They organise meet-ups, support each other through tough times, and even initiate social welfare activities. I'm genuinely touched by such efforts. One woman messaged me saying that, inspired by Rathi, she learned to drive and even bought her own car. Another fan from Chennai is now serving free food to people in need. These stories make me feel truly blessed. It's in moments like these that I realise the show and my character have made the right kind of impact,' she added with emotion. Speaking about the personal impact the character has had on her, Anumol revealed that Dr. Rathi has been a source of inspiration in her own life as well. 'I've actually adopted many of Rathi's good qualities into my own life,' Anumol said with a smile. 'But it has also had some funny side effects. After being Rathi for 1.5 years, whenever I'm offered a new role — say, as an assistant or a servant — I catch myself thinking, 'How can Dr. Rathi, a senior doctor, be an assistant?. But honestly, I'm enjoying every bit of it. Living as Rathi has been a beautiful journey,' she concluded.
