To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A man described as one of the worst drivers ever seen collided with two vehicles as he led police on a high-speed pursuit. Officers needed to reach speeds of more than 100mph to catch up with Marlon Henriques after he failed to stop in Wiltshire. Henriques, driving a Volkswagen Arteon taken from a housemate, was seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines after police attempted to pull him over for driving at 56mph in a 30mph zone in Bulford. After officers turned on their lights and sirens, he overtook a vehicle on the brow of a hill and nearly collided with an oncoming Army truck. Henriques performed several more dangerous overtakes in an effort to escape as he approached his home town of Tidworth. He then drove at around 85mph in a 30mph zone, going through a red light on Pennings Road towards the A338. Having driven around the Sidbury Circular Road, he joined the A338 by mounting a pavement to drive round a vehicle waiting at the junction. Henriques, 30, then veered onto a dirt road on Salisbury Plain before exiting back onto a road. He then travelled back towards Tidworth before the pursuit ended when a stinger device punctured two of the car's nearside tyres. Henriques then collided with the rear of a white Citroen panel van, flipping it into the roadside, before hitting the back of an unmarked armed police response vehicle that was ahead of the pursuit. Officers in the car can be heard saying 'it's going to hit us' before leaping out and shouting 'get out now!' at the suspect. He was detained and arrested before being charged with aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance, and remanded in custody. The defendant pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 22 months' imprisonment at Salisbury Crown Court on Thursday. He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. After the sentencing, roads policing officer PC Webster said: 'Henriques' driving is some of the worst I have seen. More Trending 'He put numerous lives in danger through his speeding and reckless overtaking, regularly driving through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts. 'Stopping him involved excellent collaborative work between the Roads Policing Unit, neighbourhood and response officers, and I'm pleased he has now been sentenced. 'This incident took place during the middle of the day, and I want to thank all members of the public for their assistance and patience when dealing with this matter.' Tidworth man who led police on dangerous high-speed chase is jailed
Watch the dangerous car chase that ended in a crash and arrest. A man who fled from officers in a car chase exceeding 100mph and ending in a crash has been jailed for nearly two years. On 10 June, Marlon Henriques, 30, of Wylye Road, Tidworth, failed to stop for roads policing officers on Marlborough Road in Bulford after being spotted driving at 56mph in a 30mph zone. Henriques, driving a Volkswagen Arteon taken from a housemate, was then seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines, nearly colliding with an oncoming army truck. Wiltshire Police say Henriques performed several 'dangerous overtakes' in an effort to evade officers. He then drove at around 85mph in a 30mph zone, driving through a red light on Pennings Road towards the A338. After almost 12-minutes of a high-speed chase, Henriques started to drive back towards Tidworth, but was stopped when a stinger was successfully deployed and punctured two of his tyres. It all ended in a crash as Henriques then collided with the rear of a white Citreon panel van, sending it into a tree, before colliding with an unmarked armed response vehicle that was ahead of the pursuit. Henriques was detained and arrested. He was charged with aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance and remanded into custody. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment at Salisbury Crown Court. He has also been disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. Moment 100mph police chase ends in crash and prison for 'worst' driver
Moment 100mph police chase ends in crash and prison for 'worst' driver Marlon Henriques passed 85mph on the 30mph roads Police topped 100mph chasing Marlon Henriques (Image: Wiltshire Police/SWNS) A 100mph police chase on country roads ended in a three-vehicle crash and jail for the dangerous driver. Marlon Henriques led officers at speeds of more than 85mph on 30mph roads and dangerously overtook other vehicles in Wiltshire. The 30-year-old driver had failed to stop after being caught driving at nearly double the speed limit, instead leading police on a hair-raising pursuit. Henriques, who police called one of the 'worst drivers' they'd ever seen, eventually had the tyres of his vehicle, which didn't belong to him, punctured by a stinger device. He then crashed into a white Citroen van - sending it flying into a hedge - before crashing into the back of a police firearms vehicle. Henriques, of Tidworth in Wiltshire, has now been jailed for nearly two years for his dangerous driving, which put "numerous lives in danger". Salisbury Crown Court heard that on June 10, Henriques, driving a black Volkswagen Arteon taken from his housemate, failed to stop for police in Bulford. He was seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines, and a pursuit was authorised. During the chase, officers had to reach speeds of more than 100mph to catch up with the driver. After failing to stop for officers with their blue lights and sirens on, Henriques instead overtook a vehicle on the brow of a hill - narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming army truck. Article continues below He was also seen driving the wrong way round a roundabout to evade pursuing police vehicles. Henriques performed several further dangerous overtakes, driving at around 85mph in a 30mph zone and skipping a red light towards the A338. The pursuit continued in the direction of Marlborough and then onto Ludgershall Road, where Henriques veered onto a dirt road on Salisbury Plain. The driver mounted a kerb to overtake a vehicle at a junction before speeding away from police cars with their sirens blaring. But as he made his way back towards Tidworth, a stinger device was successfully deployed, puncturing the two nearside tyres of Henriques' vehicle. His car smashed into the back of a white Citroen van, sending it into a tree, before colliding into the rear of an unmarked armed response car that was ahead of the pursuit. Article continues below After hitting the unmarked vehicle, armed officers ran up to Henriques, shouting, "Get out of the car now! Show me your hands now!", before detaining him in the road. He later admitted aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was jailed for 22 months. Henriques was also disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. Following his sentence, Wiltshire Police Roads Policing officer PC Webster said: 'Henriques' driving is some of the worst I have seen. He put numerous lives in danger through his speeding and reckless overtaking, regularly driving through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts. 'Stopping him involved excellent collaborative work between the Roads Policing Unit, neighbourhood and response officers and I'm pleased he has now been sentenced.
