These are the best European Restaurants in Dubai, as recognised by the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2025. The best European restaurants in Dubai 2025 WINNER Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (Credit: Dinner by Heston Blumenthal) One of the most famous chefs in the world, Heston Blumenthal, opened a restaurant in the eye-popping Atlantis The Royal in 2023. And two years later, it still hits all the high notes. A stunning experience from start to finish, the service is impeccable, grape list wide ranging and dishes creative and expertly prepared. You'll have seen the Insta posts of the famed 'meat fruit' and if you're a carnivore it's well worth trying. As is everything else on the British menu, especially the steak and a dessert from circa 1810. Quirky, fun and elegant at the same time, this is one for a special occasion that will be truly memorable. Licensed. Atlantis The Royal, Palm Jumeirah, (04 426 2444). Check out our full Dinner by Heston Blumenthal review here Highly Commended: Bull & Bear (Credit: Bull & Bear) This formerly North American restaurant (New York-inspired to be exact) has completely shifted its focus to a European offering led by British chef Marc Hardiman. The lovely grown-up vibes and slick service, however, have stayed the same. It's a truly refined dining experience with a short and sweet menu that features just 19 thoughtfully crafted dishes, which highlight local ingredients and sustainability. Some unmissable dishes include a purple potato wrapped in seaweed and caviar, a sustainable crab sandwich and a satsuma wagyu steak with duck fat fries. To really get a deeper experience, make sure you go for one of the three tasting menus on offer starting from Dhs295 per person. Licensed. Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, DIFC, (04 515 9888). Check out our full Bull & Bear review here Lana Lusa (Credit: Lana Lusa) We've long been fans of Lana Lusa's traditional Portuguese cuisine (that's why you'll find it in Time Out Market Dubai), but in its new home at the Four Seasons Private Residences, both the food and the dining experience have levelled up. It's a gorgeous space for a start, with a dreamy terrace overlooking Dubai Canal, and while there's still that home-cooked vibe, with recipes from the founder's grandmother, the menu also includes more diverse Mediterranean dishes. It's licensed as well, with Portuguese grape and mixed drinks to pair with your meal. Licensed. Four Seasons Private Residences Dubai, Jumeirah 2 (04 380 1515). Check out our full Lana Lusa review here Shortlisted carine A cute Mediterranean restaurant from famed chef Izu Ani, carine is a charming space for a catch-up with friends or a romantic date night. With chic interiors full of neutral tones and delightful accents such as bowls of lemons and bottles of olive oil, there's a low-key, friendly vibe, while the large outdoor terrace overlooks the rolling greens of the golf course. Coming from chef Izu, the food is particularly impressive with standouts including watermelon salad, tuna tartare, onion tart, lobster linguine and perfectly grilled lamb chops. Save room for dessert – the tarte tatin is a buttery, sweet plate of joy. Licensed. Emirates Golf Club, Sheikh Zayed Road, @‌ (04 417 9885). Check out our full carine review here City Social Dubai (Credit: City Social Dubai) Coming from renowned British chef Jason Atherton, this is a sister to his popular City Social in London. Set on the 43rd floor of Grosvenor House Dubai, City Social Dubai is one of the best European restaurants in Dubai and affords stellar views across the Marina to Bluewaters and the Palm. The vibe is elegant and the menu is modern European, with a hint of Asia thanks to ingredients such as Hokkaido scallops, which are served with charred corn and red pepper confit for a delicious combination. Other hits include stuffed tomato, shellfish raviolo, while the grills shouldn't be missed either – especially the tender steaks. While at City Social, be sure to stop into Atherton's cool speakeasy bar 7 Tales for a drink, too. Licensed. Grosvenor House Dubai, Dubai Marina, (04 402 2222). Check out our full City Social Dubai review here. Jara by Martín Berasategui (Credit: Jara by Martín Berasategui) In the hands of Spanish masterchef Martín Berasategui, whose restaurants have earned 11 Michelin stars to date, the rustic cuisine of the Basque Country gets a serious glow-up at The Lana. Serving up some of the finest European food in the city, Jara's menu is centred around charcoal-grilled meats and seafood, from dry-aged Spanish ribeye to Cantabrian carabineros. The anchovy duo starter and smoked brioche caviar demand your attention, as do Berasategui's signature croquettes. That's if you can take your eyes off the spectacular views. Licensed. The Lana Dorchester Collection Dubai, Business Bay, (04 541 7755). Check out our full Jara by Martín Berasategui review here Maison Revka (Credit: Maison Revka) Arriving in Dubai via Paris and St. Tropez, this French import is actually a celebration of food from central Europe, from Poland and Slovakia to Bulgaria and the Ukraine. Inspired by Slavic culture and cuisine, the menu puts caviar, smoked salmon and raw dishes centre-stage and recommends ordering plates to share. Desserts are another highlight here, with four different types of pavlova begging to be tried. More than just a restaurant, you can spend the day at Maison Revka with a plush lounger by the pool and even stock up on gourmet treats and posh tableware at the boutique. Licensed. Delano Dubai, Bluewaters Island, (04 543 2900). StreetXO With StreetXO, acclaimed avant-garde chef Dabiz Muñoz has created something that shouldn't work, but that absolutely does. A riotous mish-mash of Asian and Spanish cuisine, perhaps most easily summed up by the kimchi croquette with tuna sashimi or the crazy paella with shrimp and king crab cooked in a tom yum broth, this is food that is genuinely exciting. Challenge your perceptions with street food amped up to the max in an uber-luxurious setting – and a surprisingly refreshing price tag. It's unlike any European restaurant you'll have visited before, and that's what makes it one of the best. Licensed. One&Only One Za'abeel, Za'abeel 1, (04 666 1617). Check out our full StreetXO review here Studio Frantzén (Credit: Studio Frantzén) Hands down one of the best European restaurants in Dubai, Studio Frantzén from Swedish chef Björn Frantzén is just a really cool place to go for dinner. The dining room is buzzing, but if you can take a seat at the kitchen counter for a more intimate experience, do it. Watch classic Nordic cuisine come to life with a dash of Asian umami, discover Scandinavian sushi (it's a thing), and pile up your plates with some of the most brilliant sides we've ever tried. Oh, and prepare to get totally giddy in the Candy Room, where dessert is an experience all of its own. Licensed. Atlantis The Royal, Palm Jumeirah, (054 584 3105). Twiggy Credit: Twiggy by La Cantine Perched above Twiggy Lagoon at the chic Park Hyatt Dubai is oh-so-elegant Twiggy by La Cantine. All neutral tones, rattan furnishings and gorgeous boho-chic décor, this spot is perfect for a lazy lunch or romantic dinner. As well as views over the lagoon pool, you'll be treated to a view of Dubai Creek and the Downtown skyline, with the twinkling Burj Khalifa front and centre. From sushi to salads, a brilliant burrata, superb lobster ravioli and a range of expertly grilled meat and seafood, everything is fresh, fragrant and adds to the holiday feels. One of the best European restaurants in Dubai, with one of the best settings, too. Licensed. Park Hyatt Dubai, Deira, (04 602 1105). All the restaurants at Atlantis The Royal: Here's where to eat at this iconic Dubai hotel

If you haven't noticed already, we're mad about food here at Time Out Dubai. And Atlantis The Royal has some great dining spots. From Persian and Greek to medieval British and afternoon tea, you can get your hands on a lot at this iconic hotel. Here is a breakdown of all the restaurants at Atlantis The Royal. Ariana's Persian Kitchen Cuisine: Persian TV chef and cookbook author Ariana Bundy brought her Persian flavours to the city. Famed for her 'Pomegranates and Roses: My Persian Family Recipes' and television travel show Ariana's Persian Kitchen, Ariana's Kitchen will serve up modern twists on Persian classics. Head to Ariana's and you'll step into a world of mellow, perfumed, Persian dishes, where fruits, nuts, herbaceous plants and floral fragrances merge with meats, grains and vegetables. One dish on the menu that Bundy loves? 'The kubideh. This dish has a cult following,' she said to Time Out Dubai. The female-led concept is a fresh, modern take on Iranian cuisine, serving Persian classics spun with a refreshingly modern twist in terms of textures, ingredients and presentation. Check out our full Ariana's Persian Kitchen review here Open daily from noon-2.30pm and 6.30pm-10.30pm. Atlantis The Royal, ground floor (04 426 2626) Cloud 22 Cuisine: French-Mediterranean A pool club in the sky, Cloud 22 features a large infinity pool over the epic view it's afforded from being on the 22nd floor. Here you'll find cabanas, live DJs and a special VIP section. There will also be a French Mediterranean menu on offer to enjoy while you relax. Cloud 22 is instagrammable, to say the least. With multiple pools and hot tubs spread across the venue, we expect Cloud 22 will be one of the hottest spots to enjoy an oyster or two while seeing the sunset. Unwind in one of its duplex cabanas, while you see the Arabian Gulf stretch out before you as you lounge in one of the floating round sunbeds. Sun-Wed 10am-8pm. Thu-Sat 10am-11pm. Atlantis The Royal, 22nd floor (04 426 2626). Check out our full Cloud 22 review here Heston Blumenthal's Dinner by Heston Cuisine: Medieval British First announced back in 2018, the British experimental chef behind The Fat Duck, Heston Blumenthal, has brought his creative spark and innovative gastronomy dishes to Dubai in his first restaurant in the city – Dinner By Heston Blumenthal. The restaurant takes a historic look back at British medieval cuisine from the 1300s. One of the world's most unique and exciting restaurants, Dinner is a relaxed and informal dining experience. The menu delves into British gastronomy's past, with dishes bearing historical dates and stretching back as far as the 14th century. All dishes are accompanied by an eclectic selection of global grapes, with a lively bar offering a bespoke range of drinks, distillations, and infusions. Experiential dining at its best, expect the unexpected. His iconic and signature dishes, such as the meat fruit, a playful mandarin and chicken liver parfait, and jovially named tipsy cake, a spit roast pineapple dessert circa 1810, are world-renowned. Check out our full Dinner by Heston review here Open daily, 6pm-11pm, Sat noon-3pm and 6pm-11pm. Atlantis The Royal, ground floor (04 426 2444). estiatorio Milos Dubai Cuisine: Greek Recognised as one of the finest Greek Mediterranean restaurants in the world, estiatorio Milos by chef Costas Spiliadis originated in Montreal in 1979 and with outposts in New York, Athens, Las Vegas, Miami and London. With views over the resort's water fountains, chef Spiliadis serves up Greek seafood dishes plus a very fancy raw bar. You'll find everything from Greek wild oysters and ceviches to tzatziki on the menu. And the alfresco terrace with front-row seats to the Skyblaze fountain will be a key moment for anyone dining out here. Check out our full estiatorio Milos Dubai review here Open daily, noon-3pm, 6pm-11pm. Atlantis The Royal, promenade floor (04 426 2555). Gastronomy Cuisine: International Buffet An all-day dining restaurant inspired by a food market, there's a wide variety of cuisine on offer. Gastronomy also features its own live oyster bar and impressive grape cellar to cater to more refined palates. This is not an ordinary hotel all-day dining experience. Regardless of the station at Gastronomy Dubai, one thing is for sure, the quality and flavours of each ingredient are pretty exceptional. Serving farm-to-table dishes, there's also a dedicated grape cellar so you can pair your meal with a class of grape from around the globe. Open daily, breakfast 7am-11.30am, dinner 6pm-10.30pm. Atlantis The Royal, ground floor (04 426 2626). La Mar by Gastón Acurio Cuisine: Peruvian Heralding from Peru's multiculturalism, with strong Japanese, Chinese and European influences, La Mar by Gastón Acurio promises to take Peruvian cuisine to the next level. Presented by the man charged with 'transforming the western South American country into a culinary hotspot', La Mar delivers a distinctive culinary experience ranging from upscale Novo-Andean fare to Asian-Peruvian fusion and traditional seafood ceviche. Relying heavily on traditional Peruvian seafood but with sustainably-sourced grub at its core, the team behind the restaurant said that all fish served at La Mar is sustainably sourced to alleviate over-exploited fish species. Check out our full La Mar review here Open daily, 6pm-1am. Atlantis The Royal (04 426 2626). Ling Ling by Hakkasan Credit: Ling Ling Cuisine: Pan Asian Located in the 'crown of Atlantis The Royal', Ling Ling overlooks the resort's expansive Skypool, Cloud 22, with views of the Dubai skyline and Arabian Gulf. Upon arrival, you will be whisked up to the 22nd and 23rd floors via two private elevators. Ling Ling's motto is 'arrive early, leave late', showcasing its position as a late-night destination. Inspired by izakaya, where food accompanies beverages (rather than the other way around), the drinks are at the heart of the experience with an evolving menu. Ling Ling's culinary highlights fuse Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Korean influences without leaving aside the Cantonese origins of Hakkasan that are present in every course. The menu includes signature dishes: Australian lobster pad Thai, tea-smoked duck kueh pie tee, 24k gold A5 wagyu & lobster maki sushi rolls, along with signature desserts, coconut in paradise and warm chocolate hazelnut moelleux. UK city named 'fish and chips capital' - and it beats every seaside town

The UK's fish and chips capital has been revealed - and it's not by the sea. The top city has been named the best place to enjoy the British dish Fish and chips are a staple of British cuisine, not only due to their delicious taste, but also their deep-seated connection to the nation's identity. This classic dish played such a significant role in British culture that it was rationed during World War II, with soldiers being served fish and chips before heading into battle. Since its introduction to the UK around 200 years ago, originating in London's East End, fish and chips have become an integral part of the country's culinary fabric. Over time, a plethora of 'chippies' emerged across the nation, with a peak of around 35,000 establishments. ‌ Amid such a crowded market, Bristol has been crowned the ultimate winner, beating other seaside towns, according to Betway's research. ‌ The allure of indulging in a mouth-watering plate of fish and chips is hard to resist, with most pubs featuring battered fish on their menus, making this working-class meal appealing to even the most discerning palates. Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal's quest to create the perfect "chip" further elevated the dish's popularity, prompting the emergence of diverse variations and establishments serving fish and chips. Situated near the coast, Bristol has earned the title of the UK's fish and chips capital, as certified by Betway's research. After considering a variety of factors such as vegan alternatives, menu options and social media buzz, Betway declared Bristol the clear winner with a score of 60.6 out of 80. This vibrant city has long been renowned for its delectable fish dishes, owing to its close proximity to the Bristol Channel, and over time it has evolved into a prime coastal location boasting a diverse culinary scene with a rich seafood heritage. Bristol's "chippies" were also praised for their "Instagrammable" aesthetics and an impressive array of 149 scrumptious options, reports the Express. Betway described Bristol as the "perfect place to enjoy a chippy with a picturesque view", and even revealed the city's top spot. Mario's Fish Bar in Kingswood was crowned the absolute best, earning an impressive 4.8/5 stars from the judges. Here are the top 10 places for fish and chips in the UK, according to Betway's research: Bristol - score of 60.6 Nottingham - score of 59.8 London - score of 58.3 Edinburgh - score of 55.6 Leicester - score of 55 Brighton - score of 54.3 York - score of 49.2 Liverpool - score of 47.9 Birmingham - score of 46.8 Glasgow - score of 45

The Heston protégé swapping the chemistry kit for simple salad

Having worked for Heston Blumenthal, the master of the complicated recipe, it is perhaps understandable that Thomas Straker wanted to keep it simple with his first cookbook. While Blumenthal's Fat Duck Cookbook contains recipes for sardines on toast sorbet, salmon poached with liquorice and dishes requiring ice baths and dehydrators, Straker, 35, has one for a green salad. In Food You Want To Eat, he has gone back to basics. 'Wash and dry the lettuce leaves well,' the recipe explains. 'Keep the leaves mostly intact, but rip some of the bigger ones.' There is also, perhaps more helpfully, a recipe for the dressing — apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil, garlic cloves (finely grated), honey, salt and pepper: 'Pour the dressing
