Bruno Fernandes handed 'final offer' as Ruben Amorim offers worrying update

Manchester United are desperate for cash heading into the summer transfer window after missing out on European football, with captain Bruno Fernandes in high demand Manchester United are set to make their first signing of a pivotal summer for Ruben Amorim's flagging reign. But the defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final and a 16th place finish in the top-flight means United will not be able to offer signings European football. But regardless of those issues, their first deal is now within touching distance. On Tuesday, United triggered Matheus Cunha's release clause with the Wolves star now set for a medical. ‌ That deal will still get done despite the fact missing out on the Champions League and Europa League has left a huge hole in United's accounts. That means that sales will almost certainly come this summer as the Red Devils scramble to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules. ‌ One player whose future is now under threat is captain Bruno Fernandes. While United are keen to keep their influential skipper, their desperation for funds could well see him depart Old Trafford. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder, but are growing impatient. Meanwhile, flop Antony is also heading for the exit door and is pushing for a return to Real Betis. That comes with United boss Ruben Amorim admitting that it may be difficult for him to make signings this summer if funds are not brought in. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Manchester United transfer news. Cunha set for medical United have triggered Matheus Cunha's £62.5million release clause with the Wolves star now set for a medical. The Red Devils failed with an audacious opening offer, but have agreed to the terms set out by the Midlands side. Personal terms had already been agreed and the Brazilian is now closing in on a move to Old Trafford. Cunha starred in Wolves' successful battle to beat the drop this season. According to The Athletic, United requested to pay Cunha's release clause over five years rather than the required two. Wolves resisted that approach though and stood firm, formally rejecting that opening offer. ‌ After that rejection, United decided to meet the terms, with an announcement now expected sooner rather than later. Impatient Hilal hand Fernandes 'final offer' Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been sent a 'final offer' with Al-Hilal growing impatient with the midfielder. Hilal have been heavily linked with a move for the Portugal international. ‌ The Saudi Pro League side are keen to make a blockbuster signing ahead of the Club World Cup. Having held extensive talks with Fernandes' representatives, the Daily Mail report that Hilal have given him a final 'take it or leave it' offer. He has 72 hours to reply, with the Saudi side prepared to quadruple his salary with a package worth £700,000 per week. If he agrees to move, Hilal with then submit an offer to United worth around £100million. Amorim's pessimistic prediction ‌ Ruben Amorim has conceded it will be difficult for Manchester United to make new signings this summer. The embattled manager believes that financial fair play rules may well restrict their business. 'We have a plan that is to bring [in] some new players. Our big plan is to improve the team we have and improve the academy as that is our future, as it was in past. It's not going to change so much," he said on Tuesday. 'We have financial fair play rules, so we are not allowed to do so much this summer. The important thing is to stick together. We are going to struggle and it is not going to be everything right away. I have a feeling the team is improving and that is the most important thing.'

Details of massive Bruno Fernandes transfer offer as Man Utd left with dilemma

Bruno Fernandes has been a rare bright spot for Manchester United this season but the Red Devils skipper could find himself heading out of the Old Trafford exit door this summer Al-Hilal are ready to offer Manchester United £80million for captain Bruno Fernandes. United's failure to win a trophy or qualify for Europe this season has left them in a dire financial state heading into the summer window. Embattled boss Ruben Amorim had been hoping to be able to bring in a number of players to finally make his system work. But with no European football to attract players and a depleted transfer warchest, bringing in top players will be highly difficult. ‌ They can of course raise funds through player sales, with Mirror Football reporting that club chiefs will listen to offers for every single player. That includes skipper Fernandes, who has been a rare positive this season. ‌ The Portugal international has finished as United's top scorer for the second successive season, registering 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions. His current contract runs until the summer of 2027 with the option of a further year. But their is now increasing doubts that Fernandes will see out the rest of that deal. Saudi Pro League side Hilal are pushing to sign the midfielder and are ready to tap into their country's huge wealth reserves. According to The Athletic FC podcast, the offer from Hilal is a 'genuine' one. It is claimed the Saudi side are ready to offer around £80m for Fernandes, who turns 31 in September. Such a high fee would be highly attractive for United, given Fernandes' age and their money troubles. According to Sky Sports, Hilal will make a fresh push to sign the midfielder in the summer's first window. That opens ahead of the Club World Cup, running from 1 June to 10 June. Fernandes is understood to be on the list of players Hilal are looking to target heading into this summer's tournament. ‌ United signed Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon for £68m back in January 2020. Fernandes would have the chance to link up with compatriots João Cancelo and Ruben Neves if he did join Hilal. But it may take some convincing for Fernandes to depart Old Trafford this summer. Following the defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, the skipper made it clear he saw his future as being with United. "I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go," Fernandes said. "I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to great days. ‌ "In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way. "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cash in or whatever, it's what it is, and football sometimes is like this."

Inter rocked as Inzaghi receives 'monster offer' before Champions League final

Simeone Inzaghi has received a 'monster offer' to leave his job as Inter Milan boss, with the Italian side heading into a crucial week. Inter remain in with a chance of winning the Serie A title ahead of Friday's deciding day. Then a week on Saturday, they travel to Munich to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. It will be Inter's second European Cup final in three years, having been beaten by Manchester City in Istanbul in 2023. Inzaghi has developed a reputation for being one of Europe's best managers in his four years at the San Siro. Inter take on Como on Friday night at the same time leaders Napoli host Cagliari. If Napoli lose or draw and Inter win, then Inzaghi's side will lift their second successive title. His success at the Italian giants, returning them to their former standing in Europe, has attracted the interest of several other clubs. And as he prepares for the biggest week of Inter's season, the Italian has been offered a deal that would see him leave the San Siro. It is a deal that may well be hard for him to turn down. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have made Inzaghi their top target after sacking Jorge Jesus. Hilal are keen to appoint a new manager in time for the Club World Cup, where they aim to go deep into the tournament. The club's ambitious president is said to want Inzaghi 'at all costs' with Hilal stepping up their interest after initial talks in April. It is claimed that Inzaghi's representatives will be making a trip to Saudi in the coming days. Hilal are said to have put a 'monster offer' on the table and are encouraging Inzaghi to fly out the day after the Champions League final to sign it. His current deal with Inter runs until 2026, but Hilal are ready to offer him a salary of more than £16.5m a year. The Saudi side believe they have done enough to convince Inzaghi to sign, though Inter still hope he will ink a new deal with them. For now Inzaghi is trying to keep his side focused on the task at hand. Inzaghi is confident his side have what it takes to beat Les Parisiens, despite their massive advantage in wealth. Inter have already beaten Bayern Munich and Barcelona in their run to the final, with their manager insisting they can do it again. "We'll be up against a team who have more resources than we do," said Inzaghi. "But we've already shown against Bayern, Barcelona, City, and Arsenal that when we use our weapons and show heart we can compete with anyone. "The job's not done. I can talk about the path that I've taken. I thank the guys and the club for what they've given me. But the job's not done and it will take heart, soul, and organization. "I was with my parents the morning after Barcelona. The best message I received was from my brother. Two other coaches I won't name realized Inter had done something great. I'll identify them on June 1st."
