Hollywood star Adria Arjona: Acting school save me
Adria Arjona feels she's been "saved" by acting school. The 33-year-old actress studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City during her teenage years, and Adria relished the experience, as she learned to "express" herself through acting. The film star told Collider: "Acting school kind of saved me. "I had a pretty rough upbringing. There were parts there that were not the happiest, and acting really came in and saved me and taught me how to express myself through what I do." Adria was initially unsure what she wanted to do in her career. However, her dad thought she was perfectly suited to acting. The Hollywood star shared: "Every movie made me want to be something else or learn a new task. One day, my dad was like, 'I don't know exactly what you think you're going to be, but I think you might be an actor.'" Adria has starred in a host of high-profile projects in recent years, including 'Hit Man', 'Blink Twice' and 'Pacific Rim Uprising'. And the actress has always embraced the opportunity to "play different characters" on screen. She explained: "Every job you take, you're telling a story to the world of the kind of artist that you are, so you have to stick to your guns and be really truthful to what you believe in. "It's mostly, also, for me, to not be bored, right? To play different characters and to show the world that I'm more than just one thing." Despite this, Adria previously admitted that she'd like to be more "strategic" in her career decisions. She told Empire: "I wish I was more of a strategic actor when it comes to making choices. But I'm just more excited by the women that I get to embody." Adria starred alongside Glen Powell in the 2023 rom-com 'Hit Man', and the actress recalled quickly developing a strong "chemistry" with her co-star. Speaking about her initial meeting with Glen, Adria told Empire: "It was supposed to be a one-hour meeting. We ended up talking for five hours. "Chemistry comes from trust, and I think from our first meeting I just knew I could trust [Glen]. We created a space for us to play and be weird and sexy and funny." 'Hit Man' was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Richard Linklater, whose previous directing credits include 'Boyhood', 'School of Rock', and 'Everybody Wants Some!!'. And Adria still remembers feeling anxious about meeting the filmmaker for the first time. Recalling details of their first-ever Zoom call, the movie star shared: "My hands were sweaty. I was really trying to play it cool and that lasted for about ten minutes."

The evening was filled with medieval delights, from metallic fringe to mirrored boots and brocade jackets galore. Arjona was in awe of the beautiful location and experience. However, amidst the incredible fashion and good food, comfort is always key. For the occasion, the actress donned a beautifully refined knit gray dress accessorized with a black Biker PM top-handle bag and the perfect staple pair of knee-high black boots—not only a chic look for a fashion show but ideal for a plate of pasta with friends and dancing the night away. For glam, Arjona also kept it low-key, emphasizing her natural curls for an editorial yet relaxed look. Before arriving in Avignon, Arjona also made a splash on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for Highest 2 Lowest. (She was in Cannes to promote her upcoming movie Splitsville, directed by Michael Angelo Covino, which also debuted at the festival.) The actress stepped out in a pistachio-green Louis Vuitton gown that featured a subtle draping detail across the front. Again, she opted for pared-back glam, letting the beauty of the dress and the stunning necklace lead the way. Arjona was all smiles at the event, appearing alongside co-stars Daktoa Johnson and Kyle Marvin.

Martha Stewart recently had Glen Powell on her podcast — and the pair got along famously. The lifestyle maven, 83, who chatted with Powell, 36, on the April 9 episode of The Martha Stewart Podcast to celebrate the launch of his condiment line, Smash Kitchen, shared her impressions of the leading man with PEOPLE. "He's very handsome in a very natural way, and he has a really nice body,' Stewart says. 'He just had on sort of a European polo shirt and he looked really good in it.' 'He didn't have a coat; it was cold outside,' she adds. 'His hair looked great and he's charming. He was very talkative and he was very excited about his new sauces and he was also very nice about talking about his growing up. A good podcast candidate." During the episode, Stewart told Powell she was a fan of his work in the 2023 film Hit Man. Glen Powell to Star in Judd Apatow Untitled Comedy at Universal
Universal Pictures is fast-tracking an untitled original comedy about a country western star in free fall from Judd Apatow ('Trainwreck,' 'King Of Staten Island') and Glen Powell ('Twisters,' 'Hit Man'), the studio announced on Thursday. Apatow will direct the film with Powell set to star. Apatow and Powell are set to write the script together. Apatow will produce through his longstanding Apatow Productions overall deal with the Studio. Apatow's relationship with the Studio dates back to his 2005 directorial debut, 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin,' and he has since directed 'Knocked Up,' 'Funny People,' 'This is 40,' 'Trainwreck' and 'The King of Staten Island' for the Studio. Powell and Dan Cohen will produce through Barnstorm's newly minted first look deal with the Studio. This new collaboration with Apatow is the second project to be produced with Universal since Barnstorm announced their first look deal in February. Powell's relationship with the Studio originates with his starring role in 'Twisters,' which overperformed against all industry expectations, becoming the biggest opening for a natural disaster film ever at the domestic box office and grossing $267.8 million overall in the domestic box office. Barnstorm is also producing the recently announced 'The Natural Order' for the studio, with Powell attached to star and Barry Jenkins attached to direct. Kevin Misher will produce through Misher Films. Misher has a storied history with Universal Pictures, where he was President of Production from 1996-2001 and supervised production for some of the Studio's most acclaimed features, including 'Erin Brockovich,' 'The Fast and the Furious,' 'Meet the Parents,' and 'The Mummy.' Misher subsequently formed Misher Films, where he has been producing a variety of films over the past two decades, including 'Fighting With My Family,' 'Coming 2 America' and 'You People.' Senior Executive Vice President of Production Development Erik Baiers will oversee the project on behalf of the studio. Apatow is repped by WME, Mosaic, ID and Ziffren Brittenham LLP.
