BGT behind the scenes as very famous face in live audience gives sneak peek
Britain's Got Talent continued last night with the remaining semi-final, hosted by Ant and Dec, and the live studio audience included Ruth Langsford and Lucy Alexander A celebrity who was in the audience of Britain's Got Talent this weekend has shared behind-the-scenes content from production of the latest semi-final. It's included showing fans of the ITV talent show what they didn't see on TV. Ruth Langsford, 65, and her pal Lucy Alexander, 55, were in the audience at the Eventim Apollo in London last night for the last semi-final of BGT's latest series. The presenters watched on as more acts competed for the chance to be in the upcoming final, which is scheduled to air next Saturday. Loose Women panelist Ruth and former Homes Under the Hammer host Lucy both shared updates from their evening out on Instagram. They provided insights into what it's like to be in the audience for the long-running show. Ruth reflected on the experience this morning. In her first post about it, she told her followers that she had been invited by ITV and shared footage of what those in the theatre saw on screen before the live broadcast began. A black screen with production details and a countdown clock was visible on the stage in the clip. It suggested that filming of the "opening sequence" was about to take place as well as providing further details about the broadcast. She went on to share a video of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli walking out onto the stage. They were joined by KSI, who's been a guest judge this year. Ruth wrote: "Here they are!!" The QVC presenter then posted footage from the opening performance by the cast of Here & Now and the group Steps, whose music inspired the new jukebox musical. Over the top of one clip, Ruth teased that it was "fantastic". Ruth and Lucy later spent time with the judges inside the venue. One photo showed them stood beside Amanda, with Ruth writing: "Looking sensational as always!" She described KSI as her "new BFF" alongside a photo of herself and him. In one of her posts, A Place in the Sun host Lucy also gave her followers a glimpse of a "sing along" that she enjoyed as part of the audience prior to filming of the semi-final. Like others in the crowd, Lucy and Ruth were seen dancing as Take That 's Shine was played whilst the stage was cleaned. Ruth later shared the footage on her own Instagram Story. The former This Morning host confirmed in her caption that it had taken place during a "warm up" before the show. She wrote when she shared it: "Love a pre-show warm up." Lucy also posted a video from towards the end of the evening when the acts were stood on stage ready to find out who had made it through to the final. She told her followers in the caption: " All filmed live ... Who will win." In the clip, a voice was heard telling the crowd: "30 seconds to go Hammersmith Apollo." A black screen, like the one in Ruth's post from before filming began, was seen in the background of the stage with details of the scene.

Aberdeen property trio to open new business centre in the heart of Turriff
Aberdeen-based property firm SJA Property Group is to open a new business centre in Turriff. James Duguid, Shaun Murray and Alex Pittendreigh have spent £200,000 turning the former Celebrations of Turriff ladieswear shop into fully serviced offices. SJA Property Group paid £75,000 for the premises in Turriff's Main Street and is now weeks away from opening SJA Spaces. It's the first commercial project for the firm which was formed three years ago. James said he believes SJA Spaces will help increase footfall in the town centre. The 330 sq m building, at 28 Main Street, has seven office spaces, an open plan co-working area and kitchen. The building has underwent 'extensive' renovations, which included roof repairs, to create a fully-serviced office space. James said: 'I'm a local Turriff lad and I've always thought there was a potential opportunity in the market to bring something like this to the town. 'When Covid hit I had been thinking about more people working from home and how it would be nice to have a space to go and work at a desk. 'That's when thought there was opportunity for a business centre. 'It's a thriving town with a lot of footfall and eyes on it. 'I think the centre will also help the local businesses.' With the centre only weeks away from opening there's already been a keen level of interest. James said: 'With all the inquiries we've had so far, it seems there's going to be good demand for it. 'There is a business centre in Turriff already but it's in an industrial space on the outskirts of the town. 'So to have something like this in the town centre is pretty good.' Looking towards the future SJA Property Group have bought a new building in Inverurie which will also be converted into offices. It's not the first time SJA Property Group has bought property in Turriff. In 2023 the trio paid £165,000 for Silverwells Lodge and spent £130,000 on refurbishments before selling it for £380,370. Viewers were able to watch its transformation from start to finish when it featured on BBC 1's Homes Under the Hammer, hosted by Martel Maxwell. An open evening will be held at SJA Spaces on May 30 at 7pm.

Mum took own life after DWP rejected PIP and mortgage went up £600
A daughter is fighting for more financial support after her mum's money worries drove her to take her own life. Kathleen Moore, 60, had spent the last four years struggling to make her mortgage payments after they shot up by £600-a-month due to rising interest rates on her interest only loan. The mum-of-two had osteoporosis which hindered how much she could work as a dog sitter - and she was too young to retire and receive her pension. Daughter Amy Evans, 37, said her mum was trying to work at least 30 hours a month. She rented out rooms in her home when she could to try and make the mortgage payments but still had to depend on foodbanks at times. Amy said her mum would often talk about was her money problems but didn't let on how bad it was. READ MORE: Stroke-hit Stoke-on-Trent mum now paralysed and bedbound as life changes forever READ MORE: Mum's wish 'to bring son home' after horror crash comes true as Homes Under the Hammer returns Kathleen applied for personal independence payment (PIP) and universal credit but was told she didn't meet the criteria - due to her age and because she had a mortgage. Amy was "devastated" when she got the call to say her mum had taken her own life in August 2024. Now the stay-at-home-mum is petitioning to see more financial and mental health support for those over 60 - including a review into the eligibility criteria for Universal Credit and PIP. Amy, a cleaner, said: "She'd talk about money so much. It consumed her - the worry - for such a resilient person. She wasn't entitled to universal credit because she had a mortgage. She wasn't poorly enough for PIP. "Everywhere she turned there were no answers. If someone had helped - she'd still be here." Amy said she noticed her mum started stressing about money after becoming single four years ago. She said: "She was with her partner for 10 years and they went their separate ways. It made it difficult for my mum financially. "The interest rates went up. I think her mortgage went up from £100 to £600-a-month." Kathleen could only work so much due to her health and became so desperate she tried to apply for financial support from the government but didn't meet the criteria. She also rented rooms in her home out - but Amy says she had renters disappear without paying. Amy offered for her mum to stay with her if she needed to but Kathleen was "proud" and wanted to stay in her own home. Amy said: "It took its toll on her. It took a lot for her to ask for help - I think she was ashamed." The family still didn't realise quite how bad things had got and said she always seemed to "have a dip but get back on her feet". Amy got a call on August 13, 2024, to tell her her mum had taken her own life. Kathleen was on life-support for two days before passing away on August 15, 2024. It was only after her death that Amy realised the severity of her money worries. She said: "It wasn't really until she'd gone that we looked at all the paperwork and saw how desperate she'd become. "She could never really make ends meet. She got desperate and bought into loan sharks. She was so worried all the time about having a roof over her head." Now Amy wants to see a change in the support those over 60 can access. She wants to see a review into the eligibility criteria for universal credit and personal independence payment (PIP) to ensure individuals aged 60 and over who are self-employed, carers, or single without dependents are no longer "unfairly" excluded from vital financial support. She also wants to see a dedicated mental health counselling service for those aged 60 and over. Amy said: "She needed a financial solution. Someone to talk to could have changed what she was planning." Amy and her family will fondly remember their mum. She said: "She was the life and soul of most parties when she was younger. "She was very resilient. I hope the petition will save someone else."
