View post: Which is the Cooler Rally‑Car Homage: MAT New Stratos or the Kimera Automobili EVO37? Popular SUV Meets Rising 2026 Prices The Honda CR‑V is one of the most popular vehicles in the US, ranking in the five best-selling models in 2024. There are several reasons for its appeal, primarily because it combines practicality, fuel efficiency, and a solid reputation for dependability. The hybrid variant, in particular, gained traction as more buyers look for electrified options without making the jump to full EVs. 0:08 / 0:09 Thinking about buying a Toyota RAV4? These 5 rivals might change your mind Watch More Now that the 2026 model is available to order, buyers will see updated features and an expanded hybrid lineup. But these come with higher starting prices. The base LX begins at $32,315 (excluding destination charges), while the hybrid trims now range from $37,025 for the Sport to $43,645 for the Sport Touring. The price increase puts the 2026 CR‑V Hybrid lineup noticeably above the outgoing models, many of which are still available as dealer inventory. As a result, 2025 CR‑V Hybrid models, particularly the entry-level trims, are starting to look like better value propositions. Dealer Inventories are Discounted Right Now Searching inventory through shows that several 2025 CR‑V Hybrid trims are available with dealer discounts, especially the Sport and Sport-L variants. The front-wheel-drive Sport is listed around $34,650, and the AWD version is going for roughly $36,150. Moving up, Sport-L FWD units are priced near $37,650, while AWD versions hover around $39,150. However, pricing for the top-tier 2025 Sport Touring Hybrid tells a different story. Rather than being discounted, many listings show markups pushing prices above $45,000 – more than the starting MSRP for the 2026 equivalent. This limits the value appeal of the fully loaded model and narrows the real savings opportunity to the lower trims. What Buyers are Giving Up by Skipping 2026 Buyers opting for a 2025 model will miss out on a few updates introduced with the 2026 refresh. These include a larger 9-inch touchscreen as standard, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims, and a 10.2-inch display on the higher trims. The Sport Touring trim now includes native Google services like Assistant, Maps, and Play. Visually, there's not much of a difference between the new version and the inventory units. There's also a new, off-road-oriented TrailSport trim that brings some visual differentiation, as well as upgrades like a standard all-wheel drive and an improved traction control system. However, it does not feature off-road-specific tuning or suspension hardware, limiting its impact beyond aesthetics and traction software. While 2026 models carry more tech and minor upgrades, the 2025 CR‑V Hybrid, especially in Sport trim, still delivers strong value, familiar performance, and modern features without the steeper price. If you're in the market for a hybrid SUV right now, make sure to shop around and don't ignore the inventory units while they still last. About the Author Jacob Oliva View Profile

Heck Yeah: 2026 Honda Prelude Will Combine Civic Hybrid Engine With Type R Chassis

Honda just released more details about the upcoming 2026 Prelude, and we're more excited than ever for this reborn coupe to hit the road later this year. Not only will the Prelude use the engine from the Edmunds Top Rated Best of the Best winning Civic Hybrid, it'll ride on architecture shared with another one of our favorite cars: the Civic Type R hot hatch. This should be an awesome combo. Final specs aren't yet available, but assuming the Civic Hybrid's engine carries over to the Prelude unchanged, we can expect output of around 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. That's a bit less than what we were initially hoping for, but we love the smooth refinement and easy efficiency of this engine in the Civic. It should be totally fine in the Prelude.

2026 Honda Prelude Features the Civic Type R's Trick Front Suspension

The 2026 Honda Prelude will be revealed later this year, but we're learning about some of its performance parts ahead of time. Honda has revealed that the hybrid coupe will feature a dual-axis strut front suspension inherited from the Civic Type R. The Prelude will also come with the same Brembo front brakes that help stop the CTR. Honda's famous front-wheel-drive coupe is about to return from the dead. However, while we wait for the production-ready Prelude to make its big debut, Honda is whetting our appetite by revealing some interesting new details. While it's not meant to compete with the Honda Civic Type R, that doesn't mean the two cars can't share performance parts. The 2026 Honda Prelude will inherit a hybrid four-cylinder powertrain from the Civic, which means it will likely make around 200 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of torque. What's more enticing is the news that the Prelude will have sportier chassis bits than even the Civic Si. That's because Honda is plucking the dual-axis strut front suspension from the Civic Type R and giving it to the Prelude. The beauty of this trick setup—previously exclusive to the CTR and Acura Integra Type S—is that it helps eliminate pesky torque steer. Honda Unfortunately, the new Prelude won't offer three pedals and a DIY transmission. Instead, it'll feature Honda's unconventional direct-drive gearbox. To make the driving experience feel racier, the Prelude will introduce an S+ Shift drive mode. A set of Brembo front brakes (pictured above) is also adopted from the Civic Type R, not to mention Honda's hottest hatch and forthcoming hybrid coupe will have similarly wide front and rear tracks. There's still a lot more to learn about the resurrected Honda Prelude, and the full reveal is expected to happen in the coming months. While it's too early to say for sure, we'd wager that the Civic's two-door cousin will likely be priced somewhere between $31,000 and $38,000.
